After thorough testing, Dr. Miranda determined that my tooth had normal sensitivity and did not need a root canal after all. What impressed me most was Dr. Miranda's honesty and attention to detail. She explained that because the root is so close to the nerve, attempting a root canal could very likely cause permanent numbness in that area of my face. Instead of performing an unnecessary procedure, she took the ethical and professional approach and advised against it. Even without the ability to speak during the procedure, I was able to raise my hand to signal if I was feeling pain (though I never needed to!) First I was told by the dental office I had no insurance which they knew better I'd been a patient for at least 3 months by that time. Then when I reached out to my dental insurance to check I was told a claim was put in incorrectly as if I already had the procedure done. When I contacted the office about this the office manager Christy told me it was entered incorrectly. So instead of offering to fix their mistake I had to call and find out why and then call back to have Christy to resubmit the PA request. I then asked to speak with Dr. Mullins 12/15/25, 12/31/25,1/5/26,1/8/26,3/5/26. Not only have I not been called back by Dr. Mullins but now I have been turned over to another dentist for my procedure because now Dr Lau has obligations at UMKC dentistry now. Incorrect insurance information, Incorrect PA submitted, lack of resolution, Critical communication breakdown, or just plain Ghosting.

I was in considerable pain, however, the thought of a root canal sounded both painful and frightening. But ... not at all ... no pain or discomfort during the procedure (other than the numbing shot) and nothing afterwards that I couldn't control with Advil. Dr. Brumit is a very kind and professional man. Until now, I didn't even know what an endodontist was. He took the time to explain (and explain again!) my options for my teeth. He gave me the options and probabilities, both of which helped me decide my best course of action. I really appreciated how patient he was because I just wasn't getting it at first. His assistant made certain I felt comfortable and safe, checking on me multiple times before and during the procedure. Very friendly receptionist greeted me immediately when I arrived. Bad experience for our college student…read more They did no visual evaluation and gave the impression they did not look at our dentists x-rays. I learned this after we flushed $235 down the toilet for their special x-ray. They require the special x-ray before they will do a root canal and it is not covered by our very good insurance. I give them credit for asking me to come back in for a better explanation for why they did what they did but it was post x-ray and payment. HOWEVER, our oral surgeon said he could tell it was an unlikely save based on his visual examination and our first dentist x-rays. They have a state of the art x-ray machine but if you go there ask lots of questions before the expensive and likely not covered by insurance x-ray.

After i called back she was rude and condescending, Then claimed I owed over $179 from the prior $132. I politely ask her is there any way you can work with me and let me pay the $132 since that's what you told me it was at first . She's smartly replied well if you did just pay it the first time we would've known the difference . I said ma'am, I'm a disabled veteran and is there anything you can do to help me out today? She said I can divide up the payments So what you're going to do for a disabled military and put his life on the line for you to sit there and run your mouth , is divided up into payments. After the consultation, I learned I didn't need a root canal--despite having seen two other dentists who said I did based on X-rays and scans. Their equipment is hands down better than most dentists', or at least far more thorough. I didn't think a root canal was necessary because my tooth rarely hurt, only after eating when something got caught in the cracked tooth. I asked for a consultation, and we came to the conclusion that I didn't need one. The staff is very friendly, and I do recommend them. The only downside is that you have to pay upfront, and insurance reimburses you afterward. You need to have the funds available at the time of service.

This was unlike any of my prior two root canals that were 10 & 20-ish years ago.. those were easy…read more It took double the amount of time it "should have", I was prescribed RX pain pills, but not prescribed antibiotics for the infection seen around my tooth via x-ray. After I asked about them, I was told "it's like a splinter and your body will heal the infection." The pain and swelling started within 2 days so I called per the paperwork, and they called in steroids and antibiotics. It remained the same for the next 3 days. 4 days later I was told by Dr. Budig to go to the ER for IV antibiotics to "knock it out." I immediately went, and after a CT scan of my head, I was admitted to OPR for large abscess in my jaw (swelling out cheek and below jawline). I had the large abscess and molar removed by an oral surgeon, and required drains that have left a large scar on my neck. This ordeal kept me in the hospital 3 days/nights. This will cost me thousands out of pocket. Trust your gut, and advocate for antibiotics up front if you have an active infection... maybe that could have saved me from this nightmare.

They didn't sell me a procedure I didn't need, they emailed my Dentist back home the x-ray and they gave me a USB drive to give to my doctor. I was so impressed with how they treated me and how honest this practice is. I would gladly go back for any work I may need in the future.
