We chose a room that did not face the river because it had less traffic noise and was quieter. Put your hotel key card in a reader by the door to switch on the electrical equipment. The room had a good kettle and selection of tea/coffee but was somewhat cramped. To reach the bathroom, I had to twist my shoulders to walk through the small space between the bed and the wall. At six feet tall, I am not the biggest guest! There was no free coffee downstairs, but the bar made me a coffee for four pounds. No guest laundry, but guests can send their laundry out for cleaning. We saw other people charging their electric vehicles at the 40-kW chargers outside the hotel in the driveway. There was always at least one charger available.

Trying to be polite, this Holiday Inn isn't like a Holiday Inn. It has a very futuristic design and must be one of the newest hotels in this chain. The interior is in good repair and the modern feel extends to the decor inside as well. The room we were in had some very chic light fittings and ceiling uplighters. The toilets had automatic fittings and the Dyson Airblade to dry your hands. The event ran smoothly with the staff efficiently blending into the background but there to facilitate matters as and when necessary. The room was a good size and the dancefloor was big enough to accommodate the revellers as they strutted their stuff. Overall, it was a nice venue for the reception.

Around four years ago my friends and I walked past here on one of the green chain walks around South London...and we all thought it was a shame that this place was all boarded up and empty. Yesterday, we were walking in the other direction (this time on the capital ring walk...) and it was a lovely surprise to see that it is all in use. Now they have a café on the ground floor, selling cakes, teas and pretty decent ice-cream. Apparently if you pay £2.50 you can climb up to the top and explore, and hear about the history of Severndroog. The lady in the tea room also mentioned that it is possible to hire the whole place for events / weddings. Apparently Severndroog Castle's opening times are 11:00am - 3pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays Oct - March. So pop in if you're wandering along one of South London's pretty walks.

Leaving nothing behind. They provide printing, faxing, internet, phone and post facilities with the rental price. In addition, there is a self catering kitchen and it is a great community that shares in order to advance themselves and their businesses. As you walk into the hub, there is a gallery space which at the moment has a moving exhibition on life in Congo. Photography and quotations from its inhabitants, lives which are almost palpable.

The downside for me is mainly the tiny little lift, which is often temperamental and doesn't always go at all. Today I saw a group of 4 normal-sized people not be able to take the lift until 2 got out - and as there are fair few stone steps to climb, this can be an issue for some.
