There aren't many restaurants to choose from in this area until you get closer to the coast so this is a solid option if you are hungry. There were four of us, several who had never had Earl of Sandwich (a chain) and everyone raved at how good it is. Taking one star off for poor evening hours (see pic), although some holidays they do stay open a bit later. All the sandwiches are great. Bread is fresh. Chips are a bit expensive at almost $3 for a small bag. Fountain drinks are all-u-can drink with standard Coke products out of numerous shared dispensers. You can order at the counter or there are two kiosks just as you enter the service plaza that are super easy to use and if available can get your order into the queue before those standing in line at the counter. There is a TV monitor that shows pending orders and those ready to pickup. Seating is in a large mall-like setting shared by all the fast food restaurants. Restrooms are close. Parking is a bit of a walk, but nice to stretch your legs since everyone is traveling.

It did take a bit of time to get our food, as there was only one guy working the grill and the register. After a short time, one of the guys working another concession came over to help -- and took over the register. We got their two hot dog combo to share which comes with a large French fry and a drink. I really like their fries also. We added condiments from little packets and were able to find a seat -- luckily -- at an open table. We'd requested well done everything and it all was. It was a Sunday and this place was hopping! We were greeted and sat immediately. When you walk in, you see a little gift shop and a bakery display. The decor is wooden, cute, whimsical, and slightly boho. Our server was super sweet and soft spoken - she took our order and our food was ready fairly quickly. The food is delicious!! We started with their soup of the day - a spiced carrot ginger. Yummy - it felt like a warm hug! We got a veggie burger and the turkey pesto. Both were super tasty and made with love. The BEST part... they make their own breads and they offer a GLUTEN FREE rice loaf!!! It is so yummy that we bought a frozen loaf to take home. Thankfully we had a cooler with us and were able to do so. We loved our lunch so much that we decided to stop again on our way home four days later! The middle of the week in Arcadia is a lot more quiet, and our second visit was just as delicious as the first. This time, we had the veggie soup and the same two sandwiches (because they were that good!). We had the veggie burger on GF bread this time so we could share half of each sandwich.
