This was our 3rd or 4th time having a meal in this beautiful dining room. We'd previously stayed at…read morethe lodge 2 years ago and enjoyed dinner and breakfast. This time, we arrived on "all you can eat shrimp night," which was a Friday. This special (about $30) wasn't on our radar. Instead, we had fried mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, and entrées of fried chicken (with red potatoes) and fish tacos (with fries). Both turned out to be excellent choices. I really enjoyed the fish tacos, which included a choice of fries or slaw. We also had breakfast in the dining room the next day. Once again I chose tacos and was not disappointed. They were a wonderful combination of flavors. There was a choice of sausage, ham, bacon, or any combination in each of the 3 tacos. If you are sensitive to having lots of sodium in your food, do be careful what you order. Food, atmosphere, and service were great. Make your reservations ahead of time or risk being stuck with a late one... as we did. Weekends get very busy!

Sign #1: Sweet tea brought to you is from a soda fountain and not fresh-brewed. Making fresh-brewed sweet tea does not cost much. The waitress admitted it to me. I cannot tell you how many times I have had an awful sweet tea from the tab and the the rest of the experience has gone downhill more times than stabilizing the sail. Sign #2: Buying ranch to go with your wings instead of at least being given an obligatory one. Wait...it gets worse...paying for a pre-packaged Ken's Ranch...not Ranch made in-house. Sign #3: BBQ sauce on your wings is Sweet Baby Ray's bought from the grocery store. That is what my wife received and I probably had Sweet Baby Ray's Gold on my overcooked wings. Sign #4: I haven't met many French fries I wouldn't eat but Big Randy's tested me. I couldn't eat them. They were like McDonald's fries except way too salty. My wife's fries had no salt. The only saving grace from a 1-star is at least they made my wings extra wet like I asked and the service was fine. That's how you earn a 2-star. Note: the fried pickles had more of a corn nugget batter and the floor was also very sticky.
