Most cooks cook scared and are afraid to season things. The grits here are perfect, and I like things seasoned. I got two eggs over med, 4 pieces of bacon, grits and toast with coffee for $7.63. Can you really beat that. The only thing I really wish they would change is the coffee, it is swill! But this is the kind of place where the same 5 or 6 retires guys sit at the same table every morning and drink the coffee for hours. Breakfast menu is served all day. Lunch menu is from 11-2. They close at 2. Lunch has burgers, specials, meat and 2 or 3 type food. It is all good.

So far the only actual gumbo I've had in Alabama is at Tamara's Downtown in Fairhope, AL. I ordered the fried grouper finger and shrimp basket which was decent tasting but a smaller portion size. On another visit I sampled their cheeseburger and it had decent sized meat patty on it with some good flavors. I also had the key lime pie for dessert which was alright and pretty par for the course and very similar to most of the other key lime pies I've had in the area. The service was alright but they did a take a bit longer to refill my iced tea than I would have preferred. Overall this is a cool spot to visit and they have a nice variety of options although I can't recommend the "gumbo" Alabama soup.

We arrived at the screen and informed the female that we had a mobile order for Dee, she mumbled something almost like she was tired or was not happy she was T work. We make it to the window and receive our coffee and she ask if we want a receipt then she says you had mini donuts also and my friend ask me if I ordered them also and I said yes. She then informs us they are out of donuts and would we like mini muffins instead, I agreed. I did not find the muffins as tasty as the mini donuts. My friend had their dark roast cafe au latte and it was very good. He and I both agreed. I had their snicker doodle cafe au latte and he and I both agreed we would not order again. I have found it better at other coffee shops. The window has always been awesome but today it was off and I was disappointed. We will visit again.
