If you're not comfortable with the kiosk ordering, you can go straight to the associates at the counter to place your order in person (old school), just like the good old days. We were assisted by Jackson, who was absolutely friendly and informative and welcoming. We visited Popeyes twice during our stay in Minocqua, once for dining in the restaurant and once for takeout. Jackson was very friendly and welcoming on both occasions. Superstar associate. The chicken is extremely tasty and tender, and definitely a great value.

We were here the wednesday before labor day, and the place was almost vacant. That is a shame, but other places in the area were closing early and were not open everyday. The waitress was super accommodating because we had a child with. Right away, she asked if we would like crayons or cars. The toy cars were a huge hit for the child and kept him entertained the whole time. It was a great thing since the restaurant was pretty full. As for food, it was standard diner food, just what I wanted. I got the veggie omelet, which was pretty good. It was a very thin egg layer and filled with veggies. I think the mushrooms were canned, but they didn't necessarily taste like it. The rye toast was also tasty. My friend got the beast burger, which we thought was super interesting to have that combo of meats on the menu. It did need some condiments as the combo of lean meats made it a little dry, but it had a good flavor. We also got the 9er, which was just the right amount of food for a child. Overall, we had 5 star service and the food was just what we needed on the road trip.

One of us ordered a pizza, which was served rather quickly and was very tasty. One of us ordered chicken wings. Another person ordered a hamburger. Four of us ordered fish--three cod dinners and one walleye dinner. There was a delay of more than 40 minutes between when the pizza, hamburger, and wings were served and when the fish arrived. However, only three of the four fish dinners were served. The waiter informed us that there were only two cod dinners available, so two of us split one of those dinners. Fry bread was supposed to be served with all the fish dinners, but only one of the three fish dinners included fry bread. When we all finished our dinners and were ready to leave, the waiter brought the third cod dinner, after we had been told no more cod was available. I refused to pay for that last cod dinner, which the hostess agreed to. The Flame is an excellent facility in a very nice location. It's too bad that The operators have serious problems with inventory and communication.
