Subway should be every student's favourite place - yes, it has sugar and salt and everything nice BUT it's nowhere near as bad as the golden arches or the colonel's chicken. Subway started as a diet range so how could it be as bad? You just have to be sensible and take responsibility for your sandwich!
I lived off Subway when I lived in America and the choices are so much more exciting. You can get pizzas and salads in America, and 2 cookies! 2 COOKIES! I tend to go for something like turkey & ham due to the leaness of the meat and opportunity to save calories, though I have tried items such as the breaded chicken and meatballs, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad one! I personally avoid sauce as I think the melted cheese and certain veggies (namely my friend cucumber and tomato) make everything moist enough. Lunchtime deals are well priced and there's no fries involved, so there's a huge bonus. Service can be a bit hit and miss as servers are generally from across the road in Whitty P or other university establishments, but I don't blame them; working at Subway probably has the perks of free/cheap sarnies but, when it's full of hungover students (or graduates, ahem) you are bound to get a bit annoyed, wishing you were them rather than dishing out footlongs and explaining to people that they need to choose a bread, not just a filling.
Always surprising to see Maccy D's full and Subway empty as Subway is by far the better option, leaving no greasy taste or sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. The chain should be endorsed by parents across the country! read more
