Unfortunately they're pretty much located in Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas, with a few locations at air force bases around the country. A few years ago I ate tater tots when I was sick, which ruined them for me forever. But Taco John's crispy potato oles (think small disc shaped tater tots) are fabulous. You get all the happy grease and fried goodness of a tater tot, without the crazy potato texture that I can't stand. They give you quite a few of them too since they come in a little bucket, so you might need to share. I got their quesadilla, which is also better than Taco Bell's because they put a tangy sauce and a tiny bit of pico in there to give it some flavor. If you're on a road trip across the country (since I seem to be averaging three of those a year), it's definitely worth a stop to change up your fast food routine.

When you walk in, there are only about 5 available tables to eat on site. The other tables on either side of the restaurant are full of restaurant supplies like plastic bags, and boxes of condiments. Next to the ordering counter on the left is a self serve area for napkins, chopsticks, and the run of the mill duck, hot mustard, and spicy sauce packets. Yes, packets. At least have homemade hot mustard people! If you order the meat wontons or cheese wontons, they do come with a "homemade" sweet and sour sauce. For today's lunch I ordered the meat wontons and their special fried rice to go. The wontons were pretty good, but a bit oily.
