One of our neighbors…read morehad us over for pizza that they got from this place & we were VERY impressed, so we decided to go order our own the next time we came up to our place. Let me just tell you, their pizza was FANTASTIC! I'll start by detailing the pizza we ordered, which was a basic pepperoni & ham for toppings. Their pizza dough was just right, as we prefer thin style (trying to eat healthier with less bread!), the crust was brushed with a butter garlic with a light herb flavor & for us, this was a yummy addition. Their menu has SO many different pizza creations, some of which I've never seen & now I'm wondering why more of the mom & pop style pizzerias downstate don't offer creations like these on their menus?! I will add, their prices aren't cheap BUT, believe me when I say their quality & taste is reflected in this, which when food's great, we don't mind paying more for a fabulous meal. They also sell products from a bakery (I believe it's in Midland) called Scratch Bakery & let me just tell you about this place, YUMMMMMM!! Very much looking forward to trying some of their other pizza creations as well as their other menu options. PS All the employees we spoke with were so friendly & helpful. To me, great employees that love their job is reflected in their products they make & you can sure tell these employees are happy to work here.

Pizzas are good, but the sandwiches are even better! Very convenient for Sugar Springers.read more

Having a craving for something sweet, we googled bakeries near us and found this bakery open. We new it would be close before early Sunday close. We made it with 2 minutes to spare. They even unwrapped several of our purchases. Everything we purchased was the best we'd ever had. The cinnamon roll melted in your mouth and frosting was so good. I purchased a loaf of cinnamon bread. I am quite old and must say, it's the best I've ever eaten. It has no icing so a few less calories. It also is sliced thin which is good. The dough is very tasty and soft. I've told my family, when driving from Gaylord to visit kids in college in Grand Rapids, plan trips to stop at this place for lunch which looked very appetizing, and definitely pick up something sweet, and me a loaf of bread. I'll drive from Detroit to "visit". To top it off, they use all local ingredients when possible and in season! The "icing on the cake" for a great road-trip with my grand-daughter.

My husband got the classic breakfast with the sausage. I tried a bite of the sausage, and it's some of the best I've ever had! We also tried a strawberry poptart, and a brownie. The poptart was ok, but the brownie was spectacular. Would definately get one of those again. Coffee was decent.

The homey decor paired with the friendly service made it feel like you were visiting a friend who also happens to be a baker extraordinaire! The staff here goes above and beyond with the drink attentiveness--our waitress kept the refills coming and even offered us a coffee to go as the place was winding down. Now that's hospitality! Located conveniently across from the Tesla superchargers, it's the perfect pit stop for some recharge-yourself-while-you-recharge-the-car vibes. And don't leave without trying a slice of their famous pie. We were tipped off by the waitress that the buttermilk and berry pies are the crowd favorites, and I can see why! If you're a pie person, don't miss. Food-wise, it's classic Michigan fare. The chicken and rice soup of the day was exactly what you'd expect--simple, no-frills, but satisfying. I also tried the quiche of the day, which came with a fruit cup (not the freshest fruit ever, but no complaints here) and a homemade scone that was delicious! The pesto chicken sandwich hit the spot, too. Whether you're here for the pies, the quiche, or just to soak up the local charm, Mulberry Cafe has you covered. And with an attached gift shop, you might just find a cute souvenir to remember your visit.
