Driving through the dilapidated town, we became trepidatious about what we would find. Turns out the Brickyard is a shining diamond in the middle of a pile of ordinary coal. The interior is very attractive and modern. The small plates menu is - to our DC-area sensibilities - quite inexpensive. We ordered two different bruschetta, two different cheeses, two different salads, and an order of prosciutto (for the man). Everything was delicious, and the servings were much larger than we thought they would be. We were very happy to have picked this place out and it was well worth the detour off the highway.

(Mind you I haven't been here since I was a kid) Our 2 to-go coffees took 30+ minutes to come out and it was obvious they need to redesign their serving. You've got one dude making coffee, two people taking willy nilly orders with the "sit yourself" aspect. With only 2 food runners taking care of 100+ guests. A long list of "burgers" which all can be made with beef burger, fried or grilled chicken or turkey burger. I chose the fried chicken LA Avocado and he the Cowboy burger. The chicken was frozen pre breaded style and my sandwich although large was lackluster in flavor. The burger nothing special. Both came with fries that were probably the highlight of the meal - and they were nothing special themselves. A boring review for what I consider a boring meal - reminder not to judge a book by its cover nor a restaurant by its facade.
