4.5 stars !! As other stated it really doesn't look like…read moremuch from the outside. But it does make up for food flavour and portions size. The bacon Swiss mushrooms burger was average for the patty. It had a cream of mushroom sauce and fair bit of mushroom added and bacon. We ask for no onions and they listen bonus !! The large fries were really good crispy texture to the fries itself ( not over cooked)! And a fair bit for price you pay. The chicken Cesar wrap had a nice garlic Cesar dressing and the chicken was moist and a fair bit of the large diced chicken too and everything was warm . The wrap was nicely grilled too The deep fried Mac and cheese were good but portion size for 8 of them for 9.00 is a little steep (.88 cents). Still nice though in flavour and texture. The guy who started our order was friendly but he had to go back to cook so a girl who was not as friendly took our order, clearly could tell she didn't wanna work. Over all a gem definitely worth going back

We order and we are met with we don't have this, we don't have that (today only brown bread, no turkey etc.). We order something else, no problem. The sandwich I got had thinly sliced ham 2.5 slices in total. I literally ate a mayonnaise tasting sandwich. I took two bites at the park and tossed it. Why I won't ever go back? It was the sandwich sure but more so it was the dismissive responses we got from the sandwich maker (female). But the cashier, a petite older lady, she was as sweet as they come. Never going back.

We were looking for a place to get a quick lunch and then spotted Violet Mae's Bakery. As soon as…read morewe walked in we noticed the white board with various menu items such as sandwiches, soup and one type of breakfast sandwich. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and my wife ordered a BLT. I also ordered a coffee. While we were waiting for our food we looked around to see what else is available. There were two fridges for frozen meals that could be taken home and reheated. There were some basic groceries such as eggs as well. Of course, being a bakery, there were lots of breads, buns and pastries. Our orders didn't take long, but since there are no tables everything was to go. That's okay, I can eat in the car. My wife said her BLT was especially good. My breakfast sandwich was very filling but also tasty and not messy so it was easy to eat in the car. My coffee was not so great. It tasted like what I often make at home. That is something that Violet Mae's could improve on. However if you are passing through town and looking for a place for a quick lunch to go, or you need to pick up some bread for later, this is your place. It's only a block from the highway and near the west end of Whitecourt.

Yes, this is a little grocery store/market/deli/bakery... but I LOVE their Classic Turkey & Havarti Cheese sandwich!!! For only $4.99 you can't make this sandwich! There is a generous portion of meat and a slice of havarti cheese. They also put the perfect amount of mayo on it to balance the sandwich off. From bun to bun, it is the perfectly balanced sandwich.... and did I say it's only $4.99??? I can't speak to anything else in the store because I found my favorite :)
