The employees aren't particularly friendly. We stood in line for quite a while. The food however was good.

When ordering a local told me everything is good here and the place was filled, which is always a good sign when trying a new place. Staff was friendly and prices were great. My friend and I tried a few baked goods - some cookies and a brownie and we loved it all. The brownies reminded me of ones my mom used to make with powdered sugar on top. Inside, there is a beautiful selection of cakes, pastries, and fresh breads, as well as coffees, sandwiches and breakfast entrees. There are a few tables inside, and would make a great place to dine with friends or do some work. I picked up some pastries and they were all great, and the Iced Coco Mate Latte was creamy and delicious and not too sweet. Staff was friendly, and I got by with my mediocre high school Spanish. All very heavy, all very filling. My daughter had an Oreo milkshake, which she loved and the combo which is 2 eggs, bacon and pancakes. The waiter brought sweet pastries in a basket and placed it on the table, along with our order of coffee. We obviously grabbed it and began to eat it. Thinking it was part of what we had ordered. Turns out it was not, she at the end said: oh I forgot to charge you the bread so yeah, way to scam the guest bringing the dessert straight to the table. That is the minus star. Other than that the place was clean, spacious and has like an IHOP feeling, except they have a kids are and everything is in Spanish (although SD IHOP's be full on Spanish too lol). We were the only diners there but it was a Thursday evening, so I suppose that was it. That said, felt lonely. The food...feel sad to say this but meh. We got the 5 course tasting menu. There was no printed menu of the dishes so pardon the simple descriptions; this is all I can remember. The first course was vegetables on a puree of white beans and fennel. EXCELLENT. 2) Fried rabbit on a mayonnaise sauce. OK, putting something fried in mayonnaise without any acid is just too rich on rich. 3) Fish in a puttanesca sauce. Now, I don't like puttanesca, so there's that, BUT my fish wasn't cooked properly. Not seared and rare in the middle, but just undercooked. 4) Chicken in a sauce I can't remember. SUPER juicy and perfectly cooked but the seasoning and sauce...big meh from me. 5) Oy. I really didn't like this one. Lemon verbena flan in a honey-like sauce with fresh cherries. The cherries were lovely but otherwise...sugar on sugar on sugar. Yikes. Don't make this again...ever. Start over. Overall, felt overpriced for the quality of the food. Would skip this one.
