The employees aren't particularly friendly. We stood in line for quite a while. The food however was good.

My friend and I popped into Hogaza Hogaza yesterday after reading the good reviews. If you're…read morecoming from a cruise at the Port of Ensenada, it's a short walk and quite convenient. They have a few tables inside and outside, plus it's on a walking only street so it's chill and calm. When ordering a local told me everything is good here and the place was filled, which is always a good sign when trying a new place. Staff was friendly and prices were great. My friend and I tried a few baked goods - some cookies and a brownie and we loved it all. The brownies reminded me of ones my mom used to make with powdered sugar on top. Hogaza Hogaza is a nice little bakery to grab some coffee and eats in Ensenada!

It's an adorable little coffee and pastry shop with outdoor seating, and next door is a Thrifty's ice cream shop (closed when we went by). There are fresh flower bouquets for sale out front. Inside, there is a beautiful selection of cakes, pastries, and fresh breads, as well as coffees, sandwiches and breakfast entrees. There are a few tables inside, and would make a great place to dine with friends or do some work. I picked up some pastries and they were all great, and the Iced Coco Mate Latte was creamy and delicious and not too sweet. Staff was friendly, and I got by with my mediocre high school Spanish. Apple Pay accepted here.

So good we had to have it twice! I had read about this place before we left California and knew it…read morewas something we had to try. These breakfast sandwiches are legit. The five of us had the "hash brown" sandwich which consisted of one egg (fried or scrambled) bacon, cheese, a hash brown patty and the softest brioche bread you've ever had. Toasted perfectly. All sandwiches come with a small bag of freshly made potato chips. Those are also very delicious. They include a small container of ketchup and hot oil which is pretty spicy but also full of flavor. The second day my family wanted to have the exact same thing for breakfast. So we went back and Roberto remembered our order from the day before including the little details like who had light/no mayo, scrambled/fried egg, etc. The same 4 employees were working both days. All were very friendly and nice. Lenny and Angel are the cooks working their tails off. Roberto and Naomi work the counter and gave us suggestions on where to have dinner and other things to do in the city. The restaurant only has a few seats to dine in so we took the food to go both times.

Great selection of home-cooking style dishes -- all delicious and at a great price! I had tacos dorados and a sope. So good. And the salsas were tasty and spicy! Just how I like it. Definitely coming back here every time I'm in Ensenada! Owners are super friendly too. Not sure how much English they speak, but most people familiar with Mexican food can likely point out items on the menu. Ordering shouldn't be a problem. They're open from breakfast (at like 8am I think he said) until 10pm. Enjoy!
