What a nice surprise to see the meat steaming after a bite. It came with some bread and my hungry butt shoved that big tender into the bread and had the best sammie while I finished driving to my destination. I ate the rest of the fries and slaw and 2 more tenders after I got there and all that hot and delicious food was worth the stop. If the fries had been just a teeny bit more crispy and would've been even better. I like the fact that they have a double drive-through. This probably helps with those busy lunch breaks. This restaurant is a little newer, and the inside is always clean. For future reference, I'll need to remember to ask for ketchup, thankfully I had some in my truck. It's beautifully decorated with rustic, handcrafted touches, and the spiral staircase leading to their upstairs porch is such a charming feature, perfect spot to relax. The food was fresh and comforting. We had steaming hot sandwiches on their delicious fresh-baked bread, homemade soup that hit the spot, refreshing strawberry smoothies, carrot juice, a turkey and cheese sandwich, and two of their salads, everything tasted homemade with real care. Of course, this was around when they first opened up, so they might've been having some troubles finding employees or people were still getting used to everything, but the poor service affected our food a little bit. Our food came cold and they took quite a bit to make it, which, yet again, it's a newer Zaxby's so people are still getting the hang of everything, but it's still not great. The people at the counter were not incredibly friendly, but they were not mean to us and the friendliness differed from person to person. I don't really expect fast food workers to be sociable, so this doesn't bother me. Honestly, that's the least of my concerns compared to how the poor service affects our food. Because my family and I went there a couple times and we had relatively the same problems with the service every time, we just usually don't go to this Zaxby's, which is sad since I love their food.
