I lived in Bennettsville , but I used to come with friends and cruise the Sonic with some girls from Cheraw and Chesterfield . It was one of the hot spots . Ha ha . Chili Pies , Tator Tots , and seeing all the cool cars coming around playing their music . I left the Carolinas in 1985 when I went into the Army to Germany , but return to visit whenever I can . My wife and I enjoyed a delicious Spanokopita dish that was prepared perfectly. The phyllo crust was flaky and enclosed a delicious combination of cheese and spinach seasoned to perfection with traditional eastern mediterranean spices. The included fresh pita slices with homemade tzatziki sauce and greek salad rounded out a perfect dinner for us. We are going to add El-Sherif's to our list of go to places in the Cheraw area.

I was actually quite surprised the gyro was as good as it was. The lamb just popped in your mist and the seasonings couldn't be any better. My wife's cheesesteak was probably the best I've tasted anywhere south of Maryland. What separates the cheesecakes here apart from almost every other place I've been to is that they actually season the meat. I'm quite sure that it's the same seasoning they use on the meat for the gyros but I could be wrong. Either way, it was delicious. Definitely worth a swing by if you're in Cheraw.
