Do not, do not, do not take your senior/hospice animal here for care. My dog was dying (gradually, from old age, poor thing was 15) and had pain from some undiagnosed problem (wasn't worth putting him through the diagnostics to get details). Suburban Veterinary REPEATEDLY failed to refill his prescriptions for pain meds. In one instance, I found out around 11:00 am on a Friday that my local pharmacy did not have the drug Suburban Veterinary had prescribed on Tuesday. Because it was an opiate, I needed a new prescription. I couldn't just transfer it to another pharmacy. I called Suburban Veterinary every 45 minutes or so until they closed, but either the staff did not bother to tell the doctor I had called, or the doctor couldn't be bothered to respond--despite me explaining over and over, often in tears, that my poor old dog was going to spend the weekend in excruciating pain--until around 4:30 the staff told me the doctor had gone home for the weekend and there was nothing anyone could do to help me until Monday. That's just one example of problems I had with them. There was the time two other clients and I were standing outside the office in blustery wind, banging on the door to get in. They were there, having a staff meeting, but had failed to put a notice on the door and opted not to respond to all of us out there, even long enough to tell us to come back in 20 minutes. Frankly, these guys are mostly ********s. The place always smelled funky, the staff were never kind, I waited hours, on the regular, like a scheduled vet appointment was a trip to the ER on a particularly bad Saturday night. But missing my poor dog's pain meds so often was absolutely unacceptable. If I'd had any choice (didn't have a choice, hada just moved here, and it was in a phase of the pandemic where I would have had to wait months for a "new patient" appt to get pain meds for a dying dog who might not even live that long), I would have left. SO: If you are reading this and you have a choice, go elsewhere. What a bunch of *******s. read more

We've been here with our dog a couple times now, and have had good, prompt, affordable service. The veterinarian helped us make sure we are making healthy diet choices, and helped us weigh options for minor a couple minor procedures. The facility itself has some character to it. It's an older building and is certainly snug, but it works fine. The parking lot filled up quickly, and at least one patron had to park in the lot next door, but it's not far. Don't trust them to provide accurate information on diagnosis. I took my dog in for a puncture to her paw. After she was examined in another area without me, I was told she had a bad gash and they suggested stitches. I opted for the stitches hoping that would allow for properhealing. I as told to leave the bandage on for 48 hours. When I removed the bandage there was no gash just a puncture which is normally not sutured. Several days after removing the bandage she was back in the same condition as she was when I initially took her in. I contacted them day after day and they never returned my calls. I told them they needed to do something even restitching her paw. I was told that since it was her paw and they couldn't stop her from walking there wasn't anything they could do. So why did they suggest stitches when she didn't them...almost $500 and she's no better off. Stay away from this place. read more

This vet clinic far surpasses any other that I have been to. Dr. Terry is a companionable, talented, caring vet who has gone far above and beyond to care for our dogs. The clinic is very well run, clean , products available, and each customer is treated like a VIP. Staff is outstanding and they all have a love for animals that shines in their work. read more

would not recommend!! Took my cat in for unidentified severe pain she was given cerenia and b12 shot.. diagnosed with pancreatitus, sent home with flying colors!! but........ with NO MEDS! after 1 day and a half she went into re_lapse.. when i called back ,no response or return call. I returned to facility one haif hr. before quitting time. I was told ,take cat back to emergency! Dr. scott never returned both calls..as far as i,m concerned, even if he offered the 500.00 dollars back, i would,nt take it. It wont,t bring lilly back.. The vet prescribed my dog "anxiety medication". The medication would just basically knock her out. Did some researching on the medication acepromazine to find out it in fact is a tranquilizer. After reading only briefly about it every source said it does little to nothing to relieve pain or anxiety. If it's that widely known, I'm not sure how a vet could think this is alright. read more

I had my dog's ear cropped there- they did a good job just had a little issue with one of the techs, did not think she handled the situation and my questions properly but Dr Terry called me and even offered for me to come in when the clinic was closed and see my dog and check on her ears to make sure it was healing well. He is a great vet and it really shows with his care for the animals. read more

My dog died in their care and i got absolutely no answers nor sympathy from them only horrible service. I found that they are exactly the same price as going to a higher class facility with educated technicians, doctors and functioning medical equipment. They did not have the machine to perform my dogs blood work there (never told me till i came to pickup my dogs body) and my dog died and I received absolutely no answers. The doctor could not show me the decency to talk to me to my face! I would not recommend this place at all. Stay away! read more

I will never ever come back to this vet. They do nothing but Hustle there customers. They are not to be trusted . I had called them to schedule an appointment for my dog to get fixed . They gave me the price with everything. I came dropped off my dog ... when I picked her up ... they added 85.00 to my bill. Never called and the excuse was it took longer because she was in heat, when I explained the day before she was in heat they gave me the price at 300.00. Then I brought my small dog to get checked out , she was old and we were going to put her to sleep , once again they gave us the price . When we got there , the doctor gave her a listens to her heart less then 3 min and the bill was 50.00 dollars more than what was told. And the third time was I brought in my puppy the one that got fixed she over ate and her belly was swallowed. So we wanted to check her . The vet didn't ask us permission and just took her back and gave her an x-ray and charged us 200.00 dollars. This vet will hustle you and not think anything of it. I will never bring my dogs here again and I will never recommend this place. They don't care about the client or pet. They are sneaky and are not straight forward so beware of this place! Nice people and seemed to be great at first. Went there for about a year or so now and I'm changing vets..you make an appointment and you're still in a tiny waiting room full of so many dogs you can't walk by for an hour even though you had an appointment scheduled. I brought my cat in in December because he was losing weight quick. All Dr.Scott said was 'it's probably just age, I CAN do blood work but it's pretty expensive so if there's no signs it's probably just age'..3 months later he can't seem to go to the bathroom so I rush him to a closer vet who did blood work right away and said he had kidney failure which weight loss was the first sign of. I could have caught this months ago but thought he was just fine thanks to the doctor. I was also told they have no prescription medication for cats arthritis. Now the vet I am going to has some prescription medication for that. The doctor doesn't seem to want to give you time of day and overcharges. I was charged a vet fee and all he did was check his stools and looked at him. Did not check his vitals-nothing. And I had to pay an entire vet fee that's outrageous as it is. read more

My poor bum-boy at first I got good service from them . today I went their to get my little bum-boy groom I told them, what I did not want( him cut like a co- workers dog name butter) and that what they did to my little dog . now I have to look at his mess up hair cut till it grow back . I had my grand baby with me so I could not act out and try to talk nice they only wanted to take ten dollar off for what they did wrong . so when I got home crying looking at how my dog is mess up I had to call twice to get action . they state they will replace my money and don't want me to come any more . they don't have to worry about me coming there any more messing up my dog . I have foster cats and kittens and I drive 25 minutes to get here even though I have a vet office 2 minutes from my house. This place is fantastic! The office staff is professional and friendly and the techs are competent and kind. The prices here are fair and they don't gouge you. They also accommodate as many appointments as possible. They've helped me last minute Dr. Scott is great and explains everything in plain language! Highly recommend. read more

Besides being highly expensive and overcrowded, the vet misdiagnosed my beloved senior cat , he said he had kidney disease and nothing to be done but try expensive food he would not eat. Almost two years , just bring him in for fluids. He got sicker and casually one time the vet says oh maybe he should have done a thyroid test because the symptoms were like that. I said why wasn't that included in the $100 blood panel, twice! It was too late for my boy. He suffered needlessly because he wasn't put on thyroid meds at first. These vets overbook and overcharge. A large staff so they only see you for a minute. Clerk overly eager to grab your money. Hint: Check into vets Ohio board hearings or reviews before choosing one. read more

Doctors Terry and Scott are amazing doctors. They care about every animal with love and compassion. I have been taking my babies to Suburban since 2002. I've since moved from the eastside to Strongsville and would never consider finding a veterinarian closer to me. The staff is all wonderful as well. read more

The staff is very professional and caring. I was always seen promptly for my appointments. My dog had bone cancer, and Dr Scott had so much compassion for my situation. Even though it was during the holidays, Dr Scott let me know that the clinic was there for me and Max (my dog) on my terms when I had to put him out of his misery. I bring my dogs and cats here and they are wonderful! We see Dr. Dan and he and the techs are SO patient and gentle with my animals! One of my dogs is very large and strong and HATES her feet being touched - so much so that her entire life with me and her previous owner she had to be sedated to get her nails trimmed, but here they are so amazing with her that they can do it without that extra cost and time that comes with sedation. That same dog also had a cyst on the inside/corner of her eyelid that they surgically removed, now you can't even tell, no scarring at all! They have never tried to upsell me on procedures and medications that my animals don't really need like many other vets do. Will continue to bring my animals here as long as Dr. Dan is there! Only complaint is that the building is a bit small, including the waiting room, so if it's a particularly busy day it can get a little stressfull with lots of different animals going in and out and making noise. read more
