Overall the actual Suburban Taxi has never caused me any issues. The drivers are normally friendly or overly-talkative and pleasant and the taxis are always clean and do not smell like someone has just done a 1 hour SPIN class in them. My biggest qualm though... Worst. iPhone app. Ever. It would appear that every time I am in a hurry to order a taxi the Suburban Taxi iPhone app either freezes or fails to search for a taxi. I have had 2 occasions where I have pre-ordered a cab (the night before) and a cab still has not been booked by the next morning. Why don't you just call them then Chloe? Because we live in the digital age and I shouldn't have to is why! Stubborn and very Gen Y of me? Yes. But when you can catch a cab from 4 different companies in Adelaide you need to differentiate to truly be great and this is one thing that now turns me off using Suburban if I need to get to the airport or an event. read more

And if you've got an iPhone, get the app. With it you can skip the phone queue and tap directly into their booking system. Terrible. I missed the start of my friend's wedding!! I had pre-booked with plenty of time, but the driver decided to pick up someone else with a longer fare I guess. I called for a second taxi - I saw them come to the end of the road and drive off again, presumably the same reason. I called for a third taxi who actually came! But who then drove into a dead-end roadworks traffic jam which took forever to get around. Of course he knew it was there, surely he's driven in the city before. As if that wasn't to extend the fare. So yes... I got to walk up the aisle with the bride, lucky me. So angry, I'll never use them again. What's wrong with a short fare anyway? Why not make some money while waiting for a longer one? Suburban Taxi drivers - please respect the fact that people call for a taxi because they need to be somewhere. How about doing your job and taking us there. read more

Sad I know, but I can remember this song from when it used to play on my local radio station. As previously stated, suburban taxis are a part of a nationwide taxi system with the same phone number. You can go to most any city in Australia, call 131008 and you'll get a local taxi service. Really, taxis are taxis. There are 3-4 different taxi companies in Adelaide and there isn't really any discernable difference between them apart from the decals on the cars. read more

When it comes to taxis my experience is that one is pretty like any other when you get into the taxi, but I generally use Suburban Taxis when I'm in my hometown for one very good reason: it's the same number everywhere in Australia. Yep, Suburban are part of a nationwide system of taxis, meaning there is but one number to call wherever you are in Oz. I like this. No more "Adelaide Taxi", "Melbourne Taxi" "Sydney Taxi" in my iPhone: there's one number, one app, and one website to take my online bookings. As someone who travels by taxi a lot for work, it's super handy to be able to book in one place and in advance. The website booking service is particularly useful - they remember your most recent and frequent trips so you can book super quickly if you have recurring trips. read more

the booking on their app is unreliable after 5pm. I have booked for picks ups a lot of times and they have never been on time during the 'peak' hour of Adelaide. I also experienced rude customer service when you call to find out where your taxi is as it is 40 mins late! They just hang up on you and move on to their next job.....three strikes your out. I live in the Eastern suburbs and whenever I call them, it usually never takes them more than 10-15 minutes to get here. They're certainly quick and reliable from what I've experienced so far. In terms of friendliness, well, most drivers don't seem to be very keen on talking to you at all but on the odd occasion you get a nice and chatty person. Prices are the same as any other company but since Suburban Taxis are always real quick I give them 4 stars. read more

I ordered a taxi to go to airport, they are 15 minutes late from the booking time. I was frustrated in that 15 minutes thinking they will not show up. Then when the driver was here I asked 'are u late.' He looked at me and did no even respond to me. I nearly missed my flight. I have then lodged a complaint and have never heard from them.... read more

Well the best thing I can say is the taxi arrived promptly. The person was okay, but wanted to argue the point with me, goodness knows why. The cab itself was dirty and smelly. This is why I rarely take a Taxi and hopefully never will again, I will get the train next time. Far less smelly really. This is only my experience and maybe not the norm. Also he made a huge fuss of the fact that I presented him with a $50 note, so I had to pay with my MasterCard. read more

The WORST TAXI EXPERIENCE I've EVER HAD!!! Stay away from this taxi company! The woman who picked up the call was utterly rude and impatient, had no consideration or what so ever for a potential customer who stood in the cold at 1000pm. Just because I was a little bit hesitant about my address and that woman just insulted me and hung up! Guess they really have to train their staff what appropriate phone etiquette is i.e. never upset a potential customer because you will lose him/her forever. read more
