Boiler stopped working - no heat! Called this morning, service tech Tom was here within a few hours, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, plugged condensate line. We have been very happy with Suburban, have never had to call for a propane delivery, they fill it up as needed. Way overpriced per gallon and that does not even include the fees. Service is terrible. It took 5 weeks to get an appointment and they did not show up. I finally dumped them and it took 18 months for them to pick up the tanks and refund me the money I was owed. Find a local company like Christmas. read more

Thieves. Forced to cancel service because I didn't want to sign another contract for the following year. Now they're trying to charge me early termination fee of $195 and charge a restocking fee of $1 per gallon. It's been 10 months and the propane tank is still on my property. They held $107 hostage in my account for over 6 months. Most of this transpired while I was deployed to combat zone. The worst American based company I've worked with. read more

Recently requested an Heating Oil delivery, they stated it would be delivered after an inspection on Saturday, Saturday the inspector/delivery driver show up and promptly state they will be unable to deliver due to the size of the vent pipe and leaves, refusing to conduct further inspection. I then proceeded to call their office and was told they would have a technician out on Monday, at this point we are below a quarter of a tank of fuel. Monday arrives and I take the day off of work for the technician, well no tech by 2PM and I call Suburban Propane and am told no tech is coming, you were supposed to call on Monday, but they will send a tech out on Tuesday, I agreed, Well Tuesday show, but the tech does not and I received a call stating they had other emergencies, would Thursday be okay? Worst customer service ever on the phone. read more

DO NOT USE!!! Well, this will be the start of many reviews I wish to write about this Company. Never in my life have I dealt with such blatant disregard to customer satisfaction. Let me give you a quick rundown of their strategy. Year 1 - Provide a very lucrative introductory price to get you to sign on with them. Year 2 - Present you with their "low" winter lock in price that it 1.5 times higher than any other local supplier. But, now you're stuck. See when you signed that little piece a paper they pushed passed you while buttering your left testicle, they didn't say that, well, if you decide to switch to another supplier, so you can keep your family warm in the winter, we're going to charge you an early termination fee of $200. Ok, fine, you think. The other suppliers are so much (consistently) cheaper, ill suck up the $200. So, you switch. Three months later... your tank is finally removed after multiple, multiple phone calls to have it removed from your house. But your tank was at 80% full... Ah ha, now you get to pay them a $1.00/gallon restocking fee!! Not only did you wait three months for them to remove their property from yours, at no time over your multiple phone calls were you informed that you were going to have to pay them a $1.00/gal restocking fee. So, you mean I could have actually used that fuel at the price I already paid them while the tank just sat around until the second week of December?? What a novel idea. So now you owe them net $575 for the use of absolutely nothing. As with any other transaction in NYS, they need their piece. So, you pay sales tax on the closeout fee and the restocking fee. So folks, unless you want to pay $200 for nothing, an addition $1.00/gal for nothing and then pay sales tax on nothing, I would recommend utilizing a different supplier that doesn't have all of the "fine print", even if their prices are somewhat higher. I was at Suburban Propane in Glen Park / Watertown NY area. Same people! I went there to have a 20 lb. cylinder refilled (02/11/2014). They charged $2.50 more than their competitor!! That did'nt impress me much !! Then I paid and they informed me where to go, so I did. I waited 10 to 15 minutes (it is winter and cold mind you) before a rep. was there to fill the tank. He had to drive from their yard on another road not too far away to do this task for me. (what a joke). You tell me they do not have the staff to fill tanks there ? I guess since there price is higher than many in the area they probably do not get too many walk in's for Propane. I wonder how many people that need heating fuel gets ripped off by them. Negative reviews would be better. Stay clear from this company if you can. We have paid 3 times in a matter of 2 months. We were not home for the month of October. This means no hot water or heat was used. Only time it was, was when my husband came home from work. His job has been 24 hour shifts for 2 weeks straight. Well we were charged $82 for not using anything. When called we asked how many gallons were replaced into the tank and they refused to tell us. Oh and the only way I knew we had to pay them was because I looked online. We used to get bills in the mail that explained the tank amount and nothing. This company is a scam and should be shut down. Can't wait for our townhome complex to leave this hell of a company. We literally thought about not turning on our heater because we have paid so much already just for showers, husband shaving and dishes. I can tell you even then we don't use that much. We only use cold water doing laundry too. Don't go with this company if you can avoid them. Horrible company!!! read more
