Possibly the worst phone etiquette I've ever experienced. Called with a simple problem with the…read morefaucets in my shower and looking for help. Was transferred to the service department who answered with "Hello?!", as if they were angry at me. I'm thinking, "Is this the service desk? Who is this? Did I do something wrong, why's he mad?" I explained my issue quickly to absolute deafening silence. The man said "Yeah....You have to get it fixed.", as though I was an idiot. That's why I'm calling you. I said, "right," thinking maybe I hadn't explained the issue correctly. I described the three-handle setup, what was occurring, that I was aware of the stems and that maybe the O-rings or boot were just worn, but I had butted my head against it for a week and needed a professional. More. Silence. Long stretches of nothing. Then a dry and bothered tone said, "Yeah, you need to replace the parts. You can't just 'clean' them. You'd have to call up and order and replace the parts, sometimes the whole assembly........." I said, ".......Right. Soooo...." I mean am I supposed to order this?? If I knew the right part and could fix it, what am I calling you for? I said calmly but confused, "Is it something I can just go to the store for? I looked at the stem, but don't see a model number or brand or anything to get the right size and make. I'm also not sure if it is just that or if the whole assembly is having a problem." The half-asleep, half-bothered sounding gentleman replied with, "You have to have a tech come check it out for you.......Gerber's common........" Okay, are you training me to do your job or are you supposed to help me? So send a tech!! How about, "A tech will have to come out to help you, I can set that up now for you if you'd like!" No, he was halfway through another explanation of, I think, why this is my problem and not his when I just hung up. The entire call had the air of, "Okay, and what do you want me to do about it? I'm just a plumber." I didn't even get to the experience of working with these people because of this awful, patronizing phone etiquette. If this is your business, please get someone half alive to answer your phones in the future so I can even get to the part where I give you my money, which is all I wanted to do.

I paid the driver in cash and then he did not give me any receipt (my fault for not being smart enough to know I needed one) and then reported back I paid him $20 less than what I actually did. How awful of a human. I even have security footage of him coming to my house (he needed payment first) and then working once he was giving the correct amount. WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN. Everyone else over the phone is very nice but not helpful as it's my word against the driver.

Sinclair Heating Services are friendly and very nice people. I received service within minutes at…read moremy new residence because they were in my neighborhood! They are knowledgeable, answered questions tha really helped with a decision related to kerosene vs oil. After I chose #2 oil with a low cost additive (which they provided as well), the furnace in my newly purchased home ran more efficient and my home stayed warmer longer. The last tenants used kerosen, my furnace switched on and off like a kid playing with a light switch. With #2 oil with additive, the furnace does not do that, in turn, my electric bill will be lower because it needs electricity to turn on. Other oil companies were not knowledgeable with the use of an oil tanks capability for using oil or kerosen, and highly recommended the more expensive kerosen, which they were not providing at the beginning of the season, plus they advised against it. In addition, one of them had stuffy staff when it came to scheduling and new customers, delivering only on certain days of the wee. I did my online search prior to calling any of them. Sinclair was the only company who knew the grade of oil #2, knew and carried the additive and, that the same tank could be used. Plus, friendly and expedient. Sinclair home heating is a rare find. Recently we had a problem where one of our baseboard hot water registers was turning on and off by itself even though the thermostat was off. So we were heating our living room while the AC was on.. Yikes. Well i called Shelly and she had Gary out there the same day and fixed the problem. I happened to be home and Gary took the time to explain and show me exactly what the problem was. My wife and I made do,…read moreuntil Tuesday at 8 a.m. We asked neighbors for recommendations and were told that Aaron Hamilton was their "go to" for all things heating. Called in the a.m. and left a message on an answering machine. He got back to me within two hours. Scheduled a time for the afternoon and he showed up on time ready to work. Pulled apart the burner and sensor, replaced a nozzle, and fired it up. We had hot water. Cleaned up the space, answered all of my questions, and was okay with me watching him work. Excellent! I have his business card and I am now a client.

Last year we had one day where we were nervous about running low, first time in almost 25 years. We called to confirm and we were indeed on the schedule for that day. They were polite and understanding about our concern.

After 3 service calls and an account setup, they still managed to confuse us with the previous homeowner and disconnected our propane in the middle of January for non-payment. No letters, no calls, not even a knock on the door... they tried to do it on the sly. Fortunately the tech got stuck in my driveway in the snow, and when I towed him out we got to talking.. So he called the office and had to reconnect it then and there. The billing on the service calls were confounding, ultimately got the service manager Paul on the phone who put the nail in the coffin as far as my doing business with them. I can't have such an important utility be subject to the management of such an arrogant and unhelpful clown.

If he doesn't have exactly what you need, he'll do his best to get what you want. He is very friendly and knowledgeable and knows exactly where everything is in the store. He also has a liquid propane filling station to fill portable LP tanks for your grill or camper. ( he actually weighs the tank and only charges for the amount of fuel added, so your not over paying. )
