I had a large hive the size of a basketball attached to my house filled with yellow jackets. Suburban sent me Luis, who is a delightful individual explain the whole process to me, and within 1/2 hour, took down the nest, while on a ladder effortlessly without any damage to my property, and was complete control of those of bees. *NOT DOING THEIR JOBS.* *DO NOT USE. THEY WILL NOT SHOW UP.* I live in a building that's supposed to be serviced by Suburban Pest Control 1x/month. I've lived in NYC for 9 years now, and the pest control person will knock on each door and spray each floor in every apartment building I've ever been in (that's offered pest control). If someone doesn't open their door, totally normal, and they'll move on. But now I live in a building where the service person doesn't show up during the designated hours and absolutely doesn't service each floor. I set an alarm one morning to wake up an hour before the window of time that my apartment has designated (which is clearly outlined in our lease and posted in the hallway). About 45 minutes before the designated time, I hear a faint "exterminator!" yell somewhere, and then it was gone. I threw on clothes, waited for them to get to my floor... and nothing. I ran downstairs. They were gone. It's completely unacceptable to yell from the bottom floor of a building and expect people to listen for you (especially as someone who lives on the 6th floor!), instead of knocking on each door (there are only 2 apartments per floor) or at least going to each floor. It's especially unacceptable to do this outside of the designated time frame you've told people of. For the love of all things cockroaches, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you're a landlord or a super, MOVE ON. read more

The office told me my apt was from 10-2 at 2:30 no show I called they changed my apt time without notification . 2. The tech called I told him call me when you are outside - I will come meet you . He opened my shut gate and drove onto my driveway just sealed . Parking was across the street . He ruined my driveway !! My gates where closed !!!! By the way after he pulled he parked across the street ! 3. I spoke with the owner Ken he told me it's my issue, after 16 years of paying and being a loyal customer . We started using Suburban two years ago to combat an ant problem. At first they were great. However, they have gotten progressively worse - in the worst ways a pest business can decline. 1) not solving our ant problem 2) sending rude technicians to my home. Louis, is the absolute worst. we had to boot him out of our house today because of aggressiveness and rudeness. Maybe he's been inhaling the fumes of the chemicals he uses. So I previously had suburban for two years. They were an average pest control company. The reason I'm giving them only two stars is because the service they provide can be done with $50 at Home Depot. They use the same little hand pump, and just spray everything around the property. If anyone is looking for a pest control company, I would recommend EcoShield. Although they are a tad more expensive, their product is organic and thus safe. This company was brought in by my management company for bed bug service back on Sept 26. I called the company and spoke to a woman named Carmen who after explaining my situation to her she gave me directions on how to prep my apt for treatment. "If you have mattress and box spring protectors you have to remove them yourself before the exterminators get there". I did as instructed and spoke to the workers who came that day as they inspected. I told them what I had found and bagged then asked if they wanted to see my evidence which was castings and droppings. I don't know their names,but they both said no. They came and sprayed my apt and told me as they were leaving they didn't find anything but did find bed bug droppings. Second treatment exactly 2 weeks later the exterminator came and said he didn't see anything. I explained to him what I had found 2 weeks prior and that because of the tenant upstairs renting out rooms nobody could gain access to inspect. He said back then that was evidence but currently I was clear with no sign of bed bugs. Now here I am after speaking to my rental management because of what looks like blood droppings after my super came to fix my sink I found out this company told my management company I didn't have any bed bugs that there we NO signs. I called Carmen again spoke to her she said the exterminators on both visits nothing was found. If they had checked the mattress and box spring covers that I asked them to they would've seen my proof and I would be able to get my service from my management company because STILL we are getting bites and finding droppings! read more

I was contacted by the company regarding the incident that occurred with my money being stolen and was informed that they had continued into the investigation and felt bad about what occurred and wanted to make it right. I was then told to make it right, they were going to give back the money that was taken. ABSOLUTELY horrible. Do not recommend. We found bedbugs in our place back in June.. they were so unprofessional didn't even come to inspect. We were sprayed FOUR times and they never went away. Each time they were over an hour late from their 3 hour time frame they gave us. We had to call them to see if they were still coming. Gave us the run around every time saying 20 more minutes. They never steamed just sprayed. After the 4th time and we found bed bugs in the trap the woman we were working with didn't even call us back she responded in an email and basically said we were wrong. Suburban Pest Management charged me $875 for the installation of the Sentricon Termite Baiting System for the perimeter of my house including a one year contract. At the end of the first year, they have only been out one time after the initial installation and now, want me to renew for this year at a rate of $295 to ensure no lapse in coverage that could "cost hundreds of dollars... for reinstatement" of an assumed termite bond. I called and was told they only come out twice per year. When I asked a Sentricon Rep about the frequency the traps should be checked, he said monthly for the first year, then less frequently. I wish I would earn $150/visit to look at bait traps and not spray/treat the property. There are other reputable services that charge much less per anum. Caveat emptor. FYI, DYI kits cost 1/3 the cost of Sentricon, who sells only to licensed contractors/pest control agencies - so they can mark it up a "bit". read more

Wow! These guys are great! The owner Ken and service manager Ralph are amazing. After a bad experience with Green Earth, I did some comparison shopping and boy am I glad I did. Ken at Suburban cared enough about my situation to send out Ralph at no charge, ultimately saving me thousands of dollars. A complete inspection was done and although inconclusive, other steps were taken to resolve the issue. Ralph took the specimen with him to examine, which he concluded was a flea. An appointment was scheduled for about five days later. I was happy to move forward having a conclusive answer and remedy at hand, however, one problem, no more issues. So on the day the treatment was scheduled I called Ken, since after several weeks of discomfort and wrong, potentially costly diagnosis, from another company, I was ready to do anything suggested, but of course didn't want to do anything if it wasn't nescessary. I asked Ken, and even though his team was scheduled for two hours later, he suggested I wait. He could have said lets move forward and I would have! This is an honest man in a business that is driven by fear. I was ready to do anything! I appreciate the consideration and could not recommend Suburban Pest control strongly enough. Would never recommend this place! The initial contact with them & appointment set up was great then all went downhill from there. Supposedly I had a "basic rodent problem" not an infestation and with "ever 30 years of experience and the best professionals" my problem should've been an easy fix. $500 and multiple unanswered voicemails later, I still have the problem. Not to put myself through the excruciating process of trying to get a hold of them, and not to deal with the unprofessional customer service people, I've resorted to trying to figure it out for myself. read more

These guys were really a joke. They came and put down glue traps and poison boxes for mice, exactly like the ones I'd already put down myself. Despite coming to my house 5 times they did not get rid of my mice. And every time they came they tried to upsell me on a continuing contract. Why would I pay you more than the $400 I already paid you when you haven't solved my problem in the first place. The last time a "supervisor" came, wandered around my kitchen saying, where are they coming from and then left, claiming they would be back in touch with me.
