But then when I got into the actual facial procedure, it didn't go so well. I was assigned someone named Kyung. She used the needle/lancet A LOT. I had maybe one stubborn, deeper pimple, but the fact that she used a needle to puncture and squeeze a bunch of spots caused a lot of scarring/hyperpigmentation that's taken me over two weeks now to exfoliate and get rid of, and its not yet near to being clear. If their smaller ones that can be squeezed then a lot is normal- but the needle was used probably over 20 times. Not only that, but every time she spoke, it was always an attempt to get more money. First, it was asking if I wanted to buy a package or some sort of membership. She asked twice and kept on being pushy as she was doing the procedure. Next, she asked me to tip at least twice as well, and reminded me several times, even got the physical sign with her venmo/PayPal and showed it to me, to make sure I understood. Note that maybe had we made other small talk, then maybe, just maybe the way she was so pushy and trying to get more money out of me would be fine, but it was really every moment she spoke was an opportunity to get more money. It's a horrible feeling. That said, I wouldn't recommend trying, unless perhaps you're fluent in Korean and could veer the conversation to other things or speak more firmly when sold to.

There was great, relaxing music to listen to which drowned out any other noise- but it wasn't too loud! Since it's a facial, your eyes are closed the whole time- and so is everyone else's- so it actually felt much more private than I expected. They also provide a private changing room and a lockable locker for your belongings, so I was able to change into a robe and feel completely at ease- no need to worry about keeping your shirt on in an open space. Lani was awesome and walked me through every step of the process, explaining what she was doing and how each treatment would benefit my skin, but I never once felt bothered or pulled out of my relaxed state. It was honestly the most gentle facial I have ever had. While the masks were setting, she massaged my hands and shoulders, which was a lovely touch that really elevated the whole experience. I did get a little chilly, but that is entirely on me- I run cold! Next time I will just ask for an extra blanket! This kind of care and attention made the whole experience feel truly personalized. Okay, this review is LOOONNNGGGG overdue!! I found out…read moreabout KLUR.co via Yelp in January of 2018. I reached out and connected with Lesley (the owner) and was hoping to book a facial in preparation for a film I would be shooting. At the time my skin was severely broken out, irritated, and inflamed, just days before my shoot so I was kind of freaking out! I thought a facial would help. However, I spoke with Lesley over the phone and she quickly assessed the situation. Let me start by saying that Lesley, from jump, spoke to me like an old friend, its like she was giving me all of her knowledge for nothing in return. She took her time and was SO in depth with me. She studied the products I was using and knew exactly what the issue was. She said I was already over doing it with my products -- which is why my face was breaking out to begin with. She advised me NOT to get a treatment at all and that I should address the source of the problem, which was my harsh skincare routine. At the time I was currently using a regime by Dr. Lancer and it was much too strong. (Apparently the exfoliator that you are supposed to use EVERYDAY has baking soda in it and it was literally removing the protective layer of my skin, doing more harm than good! FYI- just because a certain skincare routine works for a celebrity does NOT mean it is meant for you!) After our call Lesley met with me and I purchased a couple KLUR products. I got the Immersion Serum and Stellar Restoration Serum to help with the current inflammation and dryness. I only spot treated with the Stellar restoration at night, which is a multi-vitamin serum with retinol, salicylic acid and other soothing ingredients. Literally, OVERNIGHT the bumps and blemishes started to disappear and within a couple of days they were GONE completely!! In the daytime I used the Immersion serum - ugh - how I LOVE the Immersion serum! Its also a multi-vitamin serum with Hyaluronic Acid that instantly plumps and hydrates the skin. To this day I can't believe how different my skin looked 3 days before my shoot to how it looked on shoot day! So after filming I made an appt with her to do a full regime consultation and to reset my entire routine and this was game changer. She started off by watching me wash my face and little did I know that I was using way too much water every time I washed... for basically my entire life! Lol. She then told me exactly what I should be using on my face and gave me samples of her products. She also recommended other brands that I could use at a more affordable price. Not once did I think this was a "sales meeting"... in fact, she told me "I don't care if I ever buy my products - this is what you should be doing for your face". She took so much time and energy just to help me! She has been like my beauty-fairy-god-mother!! Let's jump to Oct 2019 - I contacted Lesley well over a year later after I had met her originally. Let me start off by saying that I DID try other brands at more affordable prices, and I even tried other popular brands that my friends had recommended to me, I basically was just trying things out for that entire year. Well, I eventually came back to Lesley and the Klur brand because I could not find a Hyaluronic Acid serum ANYWHERE near as good as her Immersion serum!! (At the time I think it was around $68 - now I think it is $70.) I love the simple glass bottles and the soft-touch box it comes in. Everything about the brand feels natural, healthy, curated, and classy. The ingredients are all CLEAN - you won't find a ton of nasty chemicals in any one of her products. I ended up getting another Stellar Restoration serum and added her Gentle Matter cleanser to the list. Again, in my "year of trying other brands out" NOTHING transformed my skin as quickly as the Klur products. To this day I not only use the cleanser and two of the serums, but I have a wealth of knowledge on how I should treat my skin and what I should avoid. To be fair I have not had a KLUR facial because once I got my routine together I didn't need it! However, I would highly recommend anyone who doesn't have a solid routine to get in touch with Lesley for a skincare regime consultation... this is exactly what I needed and the knowledge she has bestowed upon me will stay with me FOREVER! I am SO incredibly grateful for Lesley and her Klur products - you will not find another esthetician as genuine as Lesley, or products as clean and powerful as the Klur brand!

When I first came in, my skin barrier was in really bad shape from trying way too many products and doing way too much to my skin. They told me my skin barrier was super thin and needed a lot of TLC. After consistently coming here for the past three years, my skin barrier is SO much stronger, my skin is clearer, and so much more glowy. I only wear a tiny bit of concealer in my day to day and get SO many compliments on my skin now. This was not the case before and I owe it all to Joy (my facialist)! Joy is my facialist, and she is truly the best. I absolutely love seeing her and look forward to every facial. Her treatments feel like a combination of a lymphatic drainage massage, extractions, and LDM all in one. It's so relaxing, but at the same time, I always leave feeling like my skin has actually been taken care of and reset. She knows my skin so well and always knows exactly what I need. Anytime I have an emerging pimple, it completely disappears after my facial because of her work. I also get microneedling here about once a month or every other month, and it has completely transformed my skin texture. I really appreciate that they don't just do the same thing every time, they look at what my skin needs and will add things like red light therapy or whatever they think will help with healing and getting the best results. I also get Botox here, and this is genuinely the best place I've ever gone for Botox. I've had some pretty bad Botox experiences in the past, including in Korea, where I really hated how it looked. Irene's Skintopia made the appointments easy, and they were very friendly. I believe it was Irene herself who did the procedure: 15mins for cream anesthesia, and only few mins for actual removal of millia. She made it look easy peasy! :) I was able to see the procedure and staff helped record video of it, and we all laughed because it was like Dr.Pimplepoppers. AWWW It was so satisfying to see millia popping out like a ping pong balls. We squashed it and said ewww. lol.
