I trusted him to oversee my business finances, including proper tax planning and Social Security compliance, also, my personal finances. Instead, they completely drop the ball. Because of their lack of attention, poor communication and failure to advise me on basic tax obligations ended up owing a substantial amount in federal taxes, along with Social Security liabilities that should have been prevented. This has caused serious financial stress that could have been avoided with competent accounting. What's worse is that I receive no proactive guidance, no heads up, no clear breakdown of what needed to be saved or paid just silence, until it was too late. If you care about your financial health stay far away from this company this experience has been very devastating to us.. It has been frustrating, costly and deeply disappointing. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. We owe thousands of dollars to social security due to pure negligence and guidance.

I will do so immediately. I received yet another notice from the IRS indicating something was incorrect on my tax return from 2 years ago and indicating I owed a significant amount of money. I asked Lisa for help determining if this was really owed and why and it was like pulling teeth to get any information from her despite the fact that she filed it, was paid to do so, and is best suited to answer questions regarding the return. I called her and she didn't call me back. She would only respond via email and partially at that. I wanted to know if she included incorrect information in my return (either caused by me or caused by her) and she was seemingly avoiding that question like the plague, instead just telling me very bluntly and rudely, to review it myself and pay the money the IRS is requesting if the numbers didn't match. Without expertise, this is very difficult to figure out and navigate on your own. The tax code is extensive! Further, if she was the cause and the IRS is in fact correct that I owe money, she caused me to lose a significant amount of money as interest accrued since the tax return was originally due in April. Moreover, every moment she delayed, interest continued to accrue. Did Lisa care? Not at all. As a service provider myself, I am appalled. Everyone makes mistakes, but who makes mistakes and leaves the person they injured to fend for themselves? So, what did I pay Brooks for? To possibly mess up and not help me correct it? She didn't offer to call the IRS or help me figure it out in any way. Even if she didn't make a mistake, I paid them enough money to help me or they could request an additional fee. However, they also take money from you and force you to pay for some audit service. Don't do it. If they won't help me with this allegation, what makes us think they will help with a more extensive audit? This is at least the second time something has gone awry with my tax return in 3 or so years of working with them. The first time they did offer to file again for me without compensation. I also second the other comments about their extreme lack of professionalism across this business. Lisa is disrespectfully late to just about every call and always with an excuse, totally lacking self awareness that the constant excuses don't fly with a paying customer. Again everyone is late from time to time, but Lisa / Brooks is overly egregious. They also are not good at asking you the necessary questions to ensure you report everything you need to report on your taxes. This has burned me several times. I'm also still waiting for a copy of my return, which I requested. I cannot wait to begin a journey with a different, more responsible and more professional organization.

I spoke to a agent by the name of Shontee R Seward. I told her I was the person been added to the account, and I gave her my liscence information and everything she asked me for. I gave her my email address and that's how we communicated. She never sent me a picture with the new policy with both our names on it, so I just let a few days past by thinking either she was going to send it or he receives it in the mail. Now I need this policy ASAP! to start driving in my job and I try contacting Shontee but she wouldn't respond to my emails my last option was calling the place. Due to not been around my cousin made it difficult just in case they ask me a question and j wouldn't know it. I called and some one answer not Shontee dough. I told them I needed a picture of the policy and I explain to her everything I just wrote above. She then put me on hold for like 5 minutes and kept talking to some in the background. Then she ask me what's my cousin date of birth. I ain't know it by hard so I had to call him and before I called him I told her he's at work it's his first day of his new job that's why he's not around me on this call. I called my cousin and he told me his date of birth when I tell her then she tells me she's not sending me the info she's sending it to him. I told her I spoke to Shontee and the information was sent to my email address since he ain't know English very well. At this point I'm going back and forth with her. She never sent it to me. Sent it to my cousin but then made a complaint to my cousin saying I was rushing her and being unprofessional. Worst customer service I had. My cousin called me kind of upset at the situation, I feel bad myself that agent would call him like I understand if you have safety rules invade of fraud etc.. but I gave you enough proof I was the person behind the phone. Very unprofessional to get of the phone with me to then call cousin and make such a bad complaint. This one star goes based on the service and that particular person that picked up the phone hope you get to read what I wrote and not do it to some one else.

I had never received my refund from that year, and because of that, I didn't file the following year. Straight Tax didn't just stop there--they walked me through every step of the process to resolve my identity theft issues, helped me file my back taxes, and handled everything with the IRS. Unfortunately, I ended up with a large balance for back taxes, but Straight Tax still had my back. They helped me set up a manageable payment arrangement and are continuing to work with me to try to reduce my debt. I don't know what I would have done without them. Straight Tax literally saved my life, and I'm so appreciative of their patience, dedication, and professionalism. If you need real help with your taxes, they are the team you can trust.
