AVOID Stylo Homes Furniture Store in Fyshwick Canberra or online!!! I like to share my horrible experience with Stylo Homes furniture store with you. Hope this will make anyone who is going to buy any furniture from this store thinks twice. I bought a lounge from this store at end of July last year. The item was a display unit for $950 after 50% discount. I was told by the store owner nothing wrong with this lounge. In mid-November after this lounge being used for less than 4 month, one side of back panel came off the bottom frame. I found from the broken area that the lounge base frame was built with thin chip boards (18mm thick) that hold back panel with two screws. When the back panel loaded for a while, the screws are pulled out and the chip board cracked. As a structural engineer, I know this design is not correct and the fixing won't be able to take the load when someone leans on the back panel. When I contacted the store owner Yasey, he claimed that all their lounges were built in this way. He also said that all floor stocks in their store have no warranty and I suppose to inspect carefully before purchase. The store won't do anything for me. How can you inspect the sofa frame that is sealed by fabric? I paid $950 for a sofa bed that did not last for four months. What a joke! After the involvement of the Fair Trading, The store owner Yasey came to inspect the damaged lounge and acknowledged that the lounge wasn't assembled correctly by the store. The support steel pins that designed to support the back panel load were not installed by the store. Although the store accepted responsibility, Yasey refused my request for a refund and promised to repair the lounge for me in January. He collected the lounge in mid-February and promised to return the repaired lounge to me in two week time. Now one month has passed, I haven't had this lounge back. It has been four months since this lounge broke down in last November. I am very frustrated and stressful during this period. I waited for a couple of times for Yasey to come to inspect the lounge, chased Yasey many times to come to pick up the lounge for repair, and chased many many times for getting the repaired lounge back! I will have to take Stylo to court if I don't get the repaired lounge back by the end of this week. If you don't want be in this situation. Stay away from this store!! This business does not deserve even one star. read more

I would say stay away from this unprofessional shop, I brought a bedframe cost 1250 from them , after 3 months of use it got a larger crack on many places, I contacted them and informed , They said for this price , I can not expect good quality, I lodged complaint through Canberra connect and waiting for a replacement or refund... will post the outcome... ... I found some of my friends also have similar experience with them... So think twice before buy anything form this shop... you can expect a hidden trap.. read more

They are so brilliantly bad. Similar experience to previous reviewer. No warranty on floorstock. Sofa breaks and they don't give a dam. Go and see fair trading they say. Save the stress , avoid these people at all costs. read more

0 star rating!!!! We were also victims of this horrible person YASEY! Very unprofessional, nasty and verbally abusive person who claims to have 8 years of good customer service experience. Please do not be fooled by this person and his store. VERY DODGY!! Their furniture is of very poor quality, biggest mistake of our lives to buy a lounge set of $2500 from him. I complained about the lounge set that was delivered to us, defective screw mechanism, item was delivered in a sack without instructions, poor quality foam, edges not properly sewn. When i called him up to tell him of the defects, he kept insisting that the sofa was "perfectly fine" when he hasnt even inspected what he delivered to us. You just know a company is dodgy when they cant even send a person to check the defect. He told me to "fuck off" and hung up. Really unbelievably horrible experience. I cant believe businesses like STYLOHOMES and people like YASEY can be allowed to operate a business in canberra. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE AND SPARE YOURSELVES FROM BEING VICTIMIZED BY THIS DODGY BUSINESS!!! I agree with you, Yasey is a two-faced person, and should not be given a permit to operate a business in Canberra and Australia. They prey on people's hard-earned money. read more
