Due to the enormity of the task I decided to enlist the services of a personal stylist to assist me. Early in the year I started contacting stylists based on listings in Yelp. Ting was the first person I was able to reach over the telephone. She had stellar reviews and the rates she quoted me seemed more than reasonable. We had made arrangements in mid-March to begin the process but unfortunately the shelter in place orders due to COVID-19 put a stop to those plans. Once restrictions began loosening up in the fall Ting contacted me to proceed with the initial plan. In our first meeting I told her specifically that I was looking for a stylish, versatile, minimalist wardrobe. As she looked through my closet, I explained that my preference would be to get rid of everything and do a complete revamp. We discussed what my wardrobe should look like based on my age, size, and fashion goals. The first day of shopping, Ting arranged to be at the store a half hour before I arrived. Once I showed up there was a dressing room reserved for me with shirts, sweaters, jackets, pants, and shoes all picked out already. When I saw that my gut feeling told me that I had made the right decision to hire her. A task that would have likely taken me all weekend was condensed down to three hours. Overall, the services she provided were as follows: an initial consultation at my residence, three hours of shopping in person, searching for online products for remaining items, and one final consultation at my residence. She helped me with absolutely everything, from shirts and pants to socks and belts. Besides the utility of the new wardrobe, I've found the experience to have a rejuvenating effect on my psyche. Seeing my new closet brings me much joy and I feel like a new man. I give Ting my highest recommendation.

Shelley reviewed the clothing I still had, discussed my style preferences, showed me different looks that aligned with my goals of upgrading my presence, and we went to try on a bunch of clothes. Ellen made my wedding dress, and it turned out more beautifully than I could have imagined!…read more After several underwhelming shopping appointments at bridal boutiques around the Bay Area, I decided to look into a custom gown. I had an idea of the fabric and basic silhouette I was looking for, but I hadn't worked out any of the details yet. Ellen discerningly reviewed my very random assortment of inspirational photos to help me pick out the elements, details, and vibes I was drawn to, and from there we worked together to design a completely unique dress. Once we had decided on a basic design, Ellen provided me with samples of many different fabrics and embellishments, all of which were of much, much higher quality than anything I tried at bridal boutiques. Ultimately, we decided on a silk that was the most comfortable fabric I've ever laid my hands on! We had in-person fittings at Ellen's studio throughout the process to discuss and perfect every detail (I kept changing my mind, and she was so patient!) Ellen also ensured that the dress didn't just fit perfectly, but that it was comfortable and functional too- she engineered some clever elements such as an adjustable waist-stay and adjustable straps that allowed me to adjust the fit of the dress throughout the night. Finally, Ellen designed removable capelets that I wore during the ceremony and photos. I had seen this kind of cape online, but none of the bridal boutiques I went to sold them. It was such a cool alternative to a veil, and I'm so glad Ellen could make it happen! I'm so glad I worked with Ellen to make my dream dress come to life!
