I recently came back after the pandemic and I guess management has changed. My son went in for a little boys hair cut. I gave VERY specific instructions " please only use scissor" I said if you need to use a razor only do it to line up his side burns. My son has long hair and he has a cow lick so it can not be cut too short. I know this about my child so I make sure to let the stylist know. I watched him for majority of the cut but my other kid had to use the restroom so I stepped away for a couple of mins. ..... well guess what he used clippers on my sons hair !!!!and it's been over 2 months my sons hair still looks crazy in the back and on the top. Ok let me start with Karla this is the 3rd time she cut my hair (First 2 hair cuts were just ok) and this last time she just chopped my hair, she was in a hurry doing a highlights for another client that to me was very poor job. Then she didn't dried my hair she just left me hanging. I went home and brush my hair with the dryer just to find out that my hair was totally damaged I called her she she said she was now available so I went back to the salon she dear to tell me that, that was what I asked for on my hair cut when I even showed her a picture of what I wanted. I'm just asking Karla please if you don't know how to do a hair cut like a BOB or any other ones please say no I can't do it and let someone else do it. You ruined my hair and my day. Went there for a cut yesterday by Gimena and had to go back to get it corrected after I went home and noticed this was not what I asked for. They charged me twice! Second lady charged me even More for the correction. Gimena left me COVERED in hair was given a decent tip too, no apology. Manager called me back 5 hours later to tell me I was not able to get a refund because the lady who corrected my hair also styled my hair. I DIDNT ask for it. I asked for a correction. Bad customer service. Talk to corporate for them to tell me they will not refund because the second many "styled" my hair. Take a look at the work done and what I actually wanted. For someone who is "experienced" this is awful. Update I called the 1800 number provided and they haven't done anything to assist me. What a joke - I have been growing my hair out after donating it and not had any luck finding a stylist I like. I decided to try this place due to the good review here. I called and verified they take walk ins, but was advised to make an appointment to be safe, since this would move me to front of the line. She took my name and gave me a 2:30 appointment, but never gave me the stylists name. I arrive at 2:20 and discover a "cash only" sign on the door - surprised, I asked one of the stylists at the front desk if this was true. Well, shouted, because they were BLASTING club music at far too high a volume for the space. They swear it is false and they take credit (but no one removes the sign...). I can see that my name was written down in their book, but I still had no idea who I was scheduled with besides "Her" and a gesture to a stylist working with someone in the back. I explain I am not worried about who does my hair, just that it gets done. He asks me to sit and promises someone will be with me at 2:30. 2:30 comes and goes. I watch the floor remain filthy and hair covered ( a couple of the male assistants eventually sweep some of it up, but not very well - the only female assistant is leaning on a broom looking bored the whole time). Every free stylist comes over, checks with me, and continues to tell me to wait even after I explain that I am basically a walk in. They assure me "she" will be done soon - I honestly NEVER was told my stylists name. At 2:40, a family walks in, signs in on the "no appointment" sheet and are promptly sat with stylists while I continue to wait. I walk out at 2:45 when it is obvious my mystery stylist is no where near done with her current client and making an appointment did NOT in fact guarantee me a chair at 2:30 with anyone. Bad customer service, overly loud music, and well below any level of clean floors and counters. Try any other chain salon than this one. Seriously. read more

UPDATE: Went back to see Manager, Marisa, about my original, awful cut. Basically my layers were not blended at all. Not only did I get a refund - but she literally took her time and perfected every issue with my hair. She left me in absolute 'awe' of how she was able to repair it with no further length removed. I left fully satisfied and incredibly happy with my cut. THANK YOU! ORIGINAL: I had not been to Style America in a long time - but I was in need of a good trim and adjust the layer of my hair. We were heading out of town, so somewhere quick. Seemed like a simple request - nothing drastic. My hair is very long and my layered look had grown down to be very bottom heavy. So I asked for a trim and to shift my layer upward a bit to even it out. They assigned me to Lucia. Lucia asked me a few questions and I answered clearly with what I wanted. I knew there was an issue while the cut was occurring as she kept asking me the same questions I just answered. After she was done there was zero offer to dry or style my hair. I got home and styled it myself to see that my long hair had been hacked. Instead of a nice blended layer, I have two straight layers - one about THREE inches up from where it was and then the end of my hair. It's not blended it is straight across - boom. Layer. I had to leave out of town and I told them I am coming back in a couple days for a refund. Period. So avoid Lucia. I don't think she should be cutting hair ... At least very long hair like my case. read more

Stephanie did a great job cutting my hair. She listened to me, understood me and did exactly what I wanted. I tried a few other higher end, more expensive places and They bombed big time. But I was very happy with Stephanie And I got out for less than $20! read more

I've never been so disrespected in my life. The stylist/manager, Marisa, cut my hair based off a picture I showed her but told her my hair is thin, unlike the picture, and probably wouldn't turn out like the picture but still wanted more volume in my hair, understandably. The stylist stated 'I was clearly confused and wanted to educate me' when the stylist was not listening and understanding what I was asking. She asked if I planned on styling my hair like the picture, and I've never tried to style my hair like that before, I told her 'I'm going to try to' in which she responded 'I'll take that as a no, so you're paying me to cut your hair and you're not even going to style it.' So negative! She never even tried to show me how to style it whatsoever. I was hurt by the interaction and called the next day in which she bragged about how many clients she has, how happy the clients are, and how a customer complaint does not affect her whatsoever. She then stated that she has a 3-step process that would have helped me style me hair like the picture very easily. She said she likes to educate her clients but absolutely failed to give polite good customer service and educate on styling tips. She also involved other clients into the issue and stated corporate is expecting a complaint from me but reminded me afterwards that she has many clients, how happy the clients are, and how a customer complaint does not affect her whatsoever. Never been so disrespected in my life. She failed to take responsibility and accountability for her own actions and tried to blame everything on me. So hurt! Will not be returning and I was a frequent customer! read more
