Pleasant Valley Campground - The condition our site was given to us. Muck and clay everywhere. Land caving in on itself!

The worst introduction to seasonal camping! I should have known better, when of all the campgrounds…read morein the area, they were the only ones with openings. It started out well enough - but within the first few weeks we noticed some things. The management was very rude, and made up rules as they went. Things were disorganized and chaotic. The power grids would go out and she would claim it was the responsibility of the campers to fix it themselves. The grounds would flood to your shins during a rainstorm. Sites were poorly maintained and our trailer started sinking into the ground as the ground split apart (yes, we were parked correctly). Management refused to do anything, ripped us off for our winter storage fees, and closed the season early without telling anyone. They shut off everyone's water and then got in big trouble from the town. The kicked out families that had been there for 30 years. The kids' playground would NEVER pass inspection, as it was all rusted out, hand-me-down equipment that looked to be about 50 years old. The police came a few times for incidents in the park. Some trailers were rotted into the ground and it looked like people were squatting there year-round. Weekenders were allowed in but seasonals were not allowed visitors. Finally visitors were allowed but had to give exactly 24 hours notice- to the minute. Management would yell at campers, threaten them, and talk about them behind their backs. One time I heard them flat out lie about a camper. They had special rules for their own family members that they loved to flaunt at you. It was a hellish experience and I could recount so many more things, but I would go on for days! Just stay away! Seriously- don't go! Too bad I can't give zero stars.

I would like to start off by saying that this is by far the worst campground I have ever taken my…read morefamily to. The staff have been very rude, unaccomodating, and confrontational. I have been a seasonal camper for 2 years there now, during which time I was hassled 80% of my visits upon entry to the park. In the beginning I was tricked into taking over soneone's lot with the notion I could make payments on the seasonal fees, little did I know that just 6 weeks later was required to have in full or the park would keep my trailer. After jumping through hoops and doing all they ask I continues to encounter problems with the staff as did others. Last year half of the park decided not to return the following year. This year I had enough and decided to sell my trailer. Upon introducing the purchaser I was then hassled for more money towards yet another year when I clearly stated I was leaving and wanted my winter deposit back. Despite there being no signs stating I could not throw garbage in the front bins (where garbage goes) they refuse to refund my deposit because I used the bins for 30 pounds or less of garbage. Three bags a blanket and a few small items. I was told I had until the 15th of October to remove the trailer if not staying n I would recieve my deposit. Days later I recieve a call stating I am not getting my deposit and the purchaser had only until monday the 1st to remove the trailer even tho my season is paid and the next year deposit. STEER VERY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AND ITS STAGNANT WATERS, AND DITCHES. If you do not want an experience like this do yourself a favour and keep searching for a better place.

Idk about you but if I'm temporarily living somewhere I don't want it to be where the workers are…read morerude and can't do their job properly and I NEVER complain this is actually the first time I've ever even left a review but with how important it is to get a spot due to my boyfriends job this lady sent me over the edge. Called to put our name on the waiting list by a younger lady she told us to call in 5 days (also a Monday) due to a group of construction workers possibly leaving. Called Monday and an older RUDE lady picked up claiming she couldn't find the name and couldn't talk to the other women that got our info. She said she could put our name on the list now and I asked how many people have been put on the list in the last five days and she said about seven so I said that completely screws us and she said do you want me to put your name on the list or not very rude nonhelpful and she hung up on me. so my boyfriend called right after me and then she was able to find her name on the list Even though I gave my first name and last name his first name and last name and she was just so rude to me. Good thing we found covered wagon a lot cheaper just as nice and the people are very sweet and helpful.

This is an absolute gem of an RV spot. The camp hosts were awesome and good people. Downtown Monroe…read moreis close and a sweet little town. We were there during rain and cold and we loved being there. The neighbors were nice and there were only a few run-down RVs. The spring and summer would be great and I hope to come back. The owner recently passed so they are doing their best. This place is good for some energy recharging on some water. Someone wrote a review about prejudice back in 2018... This is the least discriminatory place you will find with many ¨God loving and generous folks¨ just waiting to say hi and give you a wave. People also kindly mind their own business yet still acknowledge that you are human.

Just stayed overnight in a cabin. They take a security deposit, I was told cash or debit. Then when…read morewe got there, they said cash only, which I didn't carry, not like to carry. We then were given All the rules, paperwork etc, git to the cabin, they didn't give us the key. The outside of the cabin area, porch etc, was covered in goose poop. Goose poop on the picnic table, floor of porch, all the picnic tables looked old and in bad shape. Inside did not look swept, cobwebs, dust dirt all over. The bathrooms looked older, the ones with the showers were mainly clean, but had spider webs and nests on the stalls, shower seat looked like it was going to break. Forgot, while laying on the bed, you could look under the other bed, and see outside due to rotting wood in the cabin. One of the residents in a trailer, clipped the hedges on his property, loaded them on his golf cart (which there are way too many of in this campground) and dumped them in the parking area near the cabins. Some kids near Us, older 16 or 15, were digging big holes in the ground to look for worms, big enough that you could fall walking, if you didn't know they were there, and it was dark. From the conversation we overheard, the 2 kids were left during the day, and parents were at work. Just not well kept, needs paint, fixing, new picnic tables, get rid of the people on golf carts blasting music while driving all over, and the sketchy people that look homeless. Have no idea about the security deposit,I've never ever paid one, even at a KOA, which is way beyond this in cleanliness and over everything. Don't know how your going to damage a cabin that already is a mess and doesn't look like it ever gets cleaned, it should not be covered in goose poop and left like that for guests.
