Met friends for brunch here a few weeks ago and had a great time. We waited less than 10 minutes for a table at 10am or so. Service was friendly and efficient, everything was clean, and the food was yummy. Between us, we got chicken and waffles, an omelette, and a boring old egg breakfast. Rave reviews on the chicken (wings, with hot sauce on the side), the omelette was a regular favorite, and the eggs/hashbrowns/bacon/toast were hot, fresh and delicious. We've been going here for years. I can only speak to their breakfast menu (at the Walton location), but the food is solid, traditional, American diner food. It's affordable/reasonably priced. Staff is always very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean with an open kitchen/grill area but we haven't had any issues with takeout if you prefer to go that route. The pancakes are a standout and I've really enjoyed their skillets. If you're looking for somewhere to grab a decent recovery breakfast, this is a great spot! read more

We have been coming here for breakfast for years, and the food is always good. Nee owners since about 4 years ago, but most of the waitstaff is the same and the new owners are awesome. We love the pancakes, best thing on the menu. Also love the hashbrowns and really tasty bacon. There are several great specials that the always run, but make sure you try the pancakes. Haven't been here in years. The place got a serious face lift. They cleaned up and made it look actually nice. Doesn't feel so dive-y and grungy. I had the Tina omelette, add sausage gravy. I love hitting up the Stuffed Bun for a filling breakfast when I'm in the neighborhood. The portions are huge and the prices are cheap (btw cash only). My favorite menu item is the breakfast burrito stuffed with delicious bacon and eggs smothered in salsa. The waitstaff is sassy and is always a joy to converse with while dining. Used to be my favorite breakfast place. Given it several tries over the last year but now I have to let it go. Not sure why or what made them change the way they cook their breakfast food but it's drenched in some sort of cooking oil and that's all you can taste anymore, everything is under cooked and rushed. Hashbrowns are limp and taste like the cooking oil. Even the toast is bad now, some sort of gross liquid butter kinda squirted on it and only in some spots, it's even under cooked. Every time we come to Pontiac we have to go to the stuffed bun for breakfast! They make the best breakfast with such friendly down to earth staff. The menu is full with classics and some of their own specials. Last time I went I ordered the meat bowl, ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and cheese with a fried hard egg on top. It was so much food! You will definitely leave full and satisfied. Everything came quick and the prices were fair. You can tell this is a town favorite by the way the staff already knew some of the guest orders. As others said, big portions and reasonable prices. There was a short wait time for a table but was expected for a Saturday morning. The server brought a high chair for my friend's child without being asked, which was needed and much appreciated. And the food came fairly quickly! I was impressed and plan to return. A most enjoyable place to go for breakfast. The seating is minimal, so be prepared to wait a while or sit at the counter, which is what we opted to do. I've always enjoyed being able to sit at a counter, and this one was particularly enjoyable. I think I was greeted by every single member of the waitstaff while I was sitting there. The service was incredibly fast, we had our food in less than five minutes. Fast is good, delicious is better, and this place managed to do both. I was thrilled to find a Kielbasa omelette on the menu, and I enjoyed every bite of it. Huge portions, but very tasty. As others have pointed out this place is cash only, but the prices are so reasonable it shouldn't be an issue. Breakfast for three came to less than $20. Normally, I enjoy the large servings I receive at the Stuffed Bun, but my last experience caused me to knock them down a star. We were immediately seated (at the bar) and were able to order rather quickly. However, after that, our waitress forgot about us and decided to work the register instead as our food sat under the heat lamp for 10+ minutes until someone in the kitchen yelled to get the order out. By the time we got our food, it was warm at best and was cold by the time we finished. One positive, to note, is that they now accept credit cards after YEARS of only accepting cash. Ah, the hilariously-named Stuffed Bun. This is a fairly good choice when you're in the area (such as it is...sigh) though I'd stick to the breakfast menu. Salads are made with too much iceberg lettuce and cold cut strips whilst burgers are made from frozen patties (and taste like it, too). Fries and onion rings are above average as are their omelettes, pancakes and French toast. Their sandwiches are average but portion sizes are generous. This place definitely earned its moniker when we spied a waitress who (tired of being not-so-subtlety harrassed by a patron) proceeded to place a straw between his butt cheeks. He was so inattentive to his own rear that the straw remained there for the duration of his entire meal (and to the great amusement of that half of the restaurant). Me and my family have been coming here for years. The service is really nice and the food is delicious. It's a diner type style restaurant and I would definitely recommend, it's best to come in the morning for the breakfast so there is not much people and that you can get your food faster. Food gets a 5 out of 5. The morning / day cook person can COOK. I was concerned as he appeared to be younger (isn't everybody these days) and when it came time, hands down he is the man. I enjoyed watching his great timing and that he seems to enjoy his craft. Product quality that shows in the finished product. The 3 of 5 comes from the overall restaurants' cleanliness. I trust we got here on a bad cycle, because without a good scrubbing I suspect few patrons will return. We will come back "one more time" due to the cook, and friendly staff . . . hopefully soon there will be scrub brushes and soap in the customer areas' future. read more

However as we were finishing our meal and announcement was made that anyone not eating needed to leave because they needed the table...local charm. We ordered omelet, hashbrowns, bacon. The omelet was good but the bacon was cheap and hard to chew. Hashbrowns was a huge portion but only cooked on top and no seasoning. Biscuits were heavy and crumbled when opened. The gravy was overloaded with sausage and grease, different from the southern version we are used too. The ham steak was ok. This is a local favorite but we wouldn't return again. read more

They have recently come under new management in the last 6 months or so. The physical menus have been redone, and quite a few things have been added. The food is just as good and iconic around here as it's always been. I do have to say I don't care for the new French fries though, they are seasoned, and very crunchy! and you can't get unseasoned ones anymore. But that's just a personal preference of mine, quite a few people I've eaten with love them! They also offer waffle fries now, those are also seasoned but they are very good. read more

The new owners have in all under control now. The quality and service is just as good as the original owners- and almost as fast. (Remember it was I high bar they had to hurdle as Tina, the previous owner, was a well oiled machine at the grille.) Its great to see that a young man who started working at 14years old as the bus boy is now 18 years old the making the pancakes and french toast. No easy task because his former boss did make 'the worlds best pancakes" just as the sign said. The kid has it just perfect! They take credit cards at last, and the sign says a they will be extending hours into the evening, which will require an entirely new shift. They normally close after the lunch crowd. The new owners are a family from I believe somewhere abroad as they have lovely accents. I'm guessing Chaldean or eastern Europe, maybe; because there is a slight hint of french note or one of the other romance languages in their clearly FLUENT ENGLISH. These are the kind of hard working IMMIGRANTS that MAKE AMERICA GREAT! Super friendly, super nice; nearly all the wait staff stayed and that tells you a lot about the quality of the people. This is their new location. The tables are not very wide, it's quite tight for two adults to sit side by side. This goes for booths, and tables. Their 4-top tables are rectangle, so it's two across from two, leaving little to no elbow room. The table was unclean. Because we wanted more room, and did not need the mini grocery store in that wire rack on the table, we set the condiment rack on the window ledge, under the rack were crumbs, dead flies, and loads of sugar. It was gross. I don't think they have cleaned under those condiment racks since they opened. My wife point out they did not clean the condiment bottles between guests, this is a huge no-no during Covid19. Also, one of our glasses was chipped. They did space the table usage to follow social distancing, but many of them did no cover their noses with their masks. They brought one wrong entree, then they entered the amount of our bill as the tip and charged it to my CC. They caught it and gave me the cash back, but still... it was a comedy of errors. The food was ok, and the service was poor. All in all, this makes our one-and-done list. Won't be going back. read more
