I should also mention that he will never recommend something you do not need, and will give you different options for cosmetic treatments (like teeth whitening). He's honest and kind, his "bedside manner" is very gentle and calming; I only have good things to say about him and no longer have full-blown panic attacks over having to see the dentist.

I went to Dr. Collins as a new resident of Montreal, and had no clue for what a great experience I was in for. I had previously gone to a dentist in Chicago and knew that I needed a crown on a tooth that had previously undergone a root canal. Dr. Collins is by far the best dentist I have ever gone to. He made sure to make me feel comfortable and was very aware of how anxious I was about the procedure. He talked to me about all my options, never pressured me and took the procedure at a slower pace that I could handle. His office is gorgeous, and has a panoramic view of Mt. Royal and the canal. It is located on the 9th floor of the Transat Tower which is across the street from Parc Jeanne Mance and Parc Mount Royal. What a view! Completely different than most dentist offices, which resemble dungeons more than anything else. He put on a movie for me to watch while he was doing the procedure, it definitely helped me take my mind off of everything and eased my anxiety. His assistant was super sweet and chatted with me before and after, making me feel comfortable and not worried. I'm sooooooo glad I somehow found Dr. Collins, he made the whole experience painless in every way.

The receptionists at Alpha were very well organized and helpful, but the dental team present on a Sunday morning was extremely disorganized and not communicating well with each other or with me. No less than 4 different people came in and out of the exam room, asking the same questions and leaving. 2 different technicians had to repeat my x-rays a total of 4 times due to problems with their equipment. In the end they had to transfer me to a kids' exam room with a tiny radiation shield that barely covered me. When the dentist (Dr. Vinh) finally came in he didn't seem to have the background on my situation. Despite very clear symptoms of an abscess that had been getting worse for several days, he didn't take the time to properly locate it (it was in a tricky place under the jaw). Instead he quickly palpated around and concluded the pain must be coming from a cracked tooth or "just the shape of the jawbone rubbing against the gums." When the X ray showed no cracked tooth, he said I would just need to "get used to the pain" since it won't go away due to my jaw shape and try rinsing with saltwater from time to time. WTF?? If you don't enjoy being gaslighted and actually expect your medical professionals to have a modicum of communication and diagnostic skills, I suggest you go elsewhere.

One of my tooth had its filling fall out and I needed to get a consultation on what to do next…read more They took x-rays and concluded that the cavity was too close to the nerve to have a filling done and that a root canal was the only solution. I couldn't afford it at the time so they recommended I get the decay removed and add a temporary filling. I followed their recommendation. A couple weeks later when I was spending a weekend at my parents place, my dad recommended I go to a dentist in their area and they had another look at my situation. They removed the temporary filling I had put in and were shocked to find out that the decay wasn't removed from my tooth before putting in the filling! Basically my tooth has been rotting underneath the temporary filling this whole time. Dr. Claudine told me I'm lucky that I didn't wait much longer to come see her, if not my tooth would have needed to be removed. To top it all off, a root canal was never needed to begin with... She removed all the decay and proceeded to use a filling to cover the tooth instead and my tooth has been just fine ever since. I'm disgusted by the lack of professionalism and the sheer disregard for my dental health. I don't have insurance and I'm a student and would have paid 1400$ for a root canal from Dr.Youssef. If you want honest dental practice and people who aren't trying to scam you with unnecessary treatment, this is definitely not the place to go. You don't bargain with people's health. Opportunism at its finest.
