I got a pedicure today and I have to admit my feet were in poor shape prior to going. I had calluses, ingrowns and dirty nails. I was so happy to know they knew how to deal with my feet. I actually called in advance to make sure and the lady on the phone was very informative. When I arrived they first soaked my feet and cut my nails. They used so many different tools to remove dead skin I can't even properly remember. I enjoyed the scrub they used since it smelled and felt good. At the end I opted to have warm wax poured on my feet instead of nail polish (since the oils that remain on the feet won't let the nail polish stick). My feet feel amazing! I will definitely make this a routine part of my self care. read more

I can't recommend Studio Vis a Vis enough! I've been going there for about 3 years for laser hair removal. When I first started, I was really nervous and embarrassed about how hairy I was but my esthetician Priscilla was so professional, kind and made me feel a lot more comfortable. They are very knowledgeable about all of the services they offer and I can tell that they don't cheap out when it comes to their machines and products. The spa is very clean and always smells nice; all of the ladies that work there are really sweet and make you feel welcomed. Most importantly, their lasers actually work! I noticed amazing reduction in hair after the first treatment and have continued to have great results 3 years later. A Living Social deal for a Brazilian led me to Studio Vis-A-Vis. It's located close to College and Ossington and was easy to get to by TTC. When I walked in, my coat was taken and I was checked in within 10 minutes. There was no attitude regarding me being through Living Social (as I've had at other establishments) and I sat to await my appointment. My aesthetician, Florbela, came out, showed me to the room and left to let me disrobe. The room was small but clean. As I waited for Florbela to come back, I tried to calm my nerves at the pain I was about to inflict on myself. When she came back, she chit chatted with me while she got everything ready. I did enjoy the convo; it helped to keep me at ease. She used both soft and hard wax which I appreciate, because hard wax is essential for sensitive areas. We were over in 45 min; Florbela was extremely thorough and I was as smooth as a baby's bottom when we were done. They had cream to get off the excess wax; I liked that there wasn't much wax leftover on my skin so cleaning up was easy. I was pleasantly surprised by Studio Vis-a-Vis. I would definitely go back there when I'm thinking of getting another Brazilian. Note: If you're prone to ingrowns, this is one of the few Brazilians I've had where I haven't had any. read more

Came in here after purchasing a Living Social deal for a Brazilian wax. I've had a few nightmarish experiences in my search for a decently priced wax, but I was thrilled with Studio Vis a Vis. The salon is clean, the technicians are friendly, and they do a great job. I personally recommend Christina (and not just because we have the same name!) To get extra bang for your buck, get your Brazilian done "on the budget" - come in on a Tuesday or a Wednesday, and pay only $30 for a Brazilian! They do other services on the cheap as well. The only catch is that you have to pre-pay for the appointment, and if you don't give 24 hours notice, you forfeit the money. But if you can swing it, I highly recommend it. In short, this place is the rare but perfect trifecta of clean, professional, and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend it. read more

Went in for a facial and what a joke. I emailed them before hand about getting a deep cleansing facial, with extractions, as well as reminded her before we started. She literally took out two blackheads and was done with it. Two. The rest of the facial was essentially a massage with several oils, which by the way was so aggressive on my face, I'm pretty sure I left with half an eyebrow. I ended up a greasy mess by the end of it, and had to go to work right after (she knew this). I had oil all over my hairline despite having a head wrap. How does that even happen? It was just a disaster. To top it all off, I was told the price of the facial was going to be $95 via email. They tried to get $135 out of me, as well as push a $80 moisturizer on me. Please. They're lucky I didn't walk out. Save your money, this place is over-rated with moderately talented staff. read more

What a great experience I had at studio Vis- A-Vis. Very friendly as I walked in I was asked would I like to have my jacket hung up. I waited less than 5 minutes before I went into the room. I received a Brazilian (using hard wax) and it was not painful at all. Florbela (the aesthetician) was amazing very friendly and was able to answer my questions about in growns. I had the eyelash perm and tint done. It was fine until she went to remove the curlers. She ripped and broke half of my eyelashes out, saying afterwards that my lashes were too weak. She scrubbed my eyes so hard that the tint treatment stung and burned. When I told her this she just laughed it off. I was heartbroken when I finally got to see the results. At checkout she tried to add the $95 serum to my bill when I'd already said no. I'm so embarrassed to have no more lashes now. Going here was a HUGE mistake! read more

Myself, my husband, his brother, sister, sister in law and mother are all clients (As well as some friends I've shared my secret with) I see Florabella. She's fantastic. She has a very calming, soothing nature and is professional and sensitive to your needs. All the staff I've found are extremely friendly yet professional and very knowledgeable. The decor is simple, elegant and healing without trying too hard or being pretentious. I also love that over the years, they have consistently updated and maintained the facilities. All the products they use are quality products. They don't try to pressure you into unnecessary treatments and are very caring and professional. Facials: The only place I trust for a facial in Toronto. . When I go in for my facial Florabella does a gentle skin assessment, and listens to any concerns. She explains in advance what products she will be using and what they do. During the facial while your different masks are on she massages your hands, feet, back, neck and scalp. She is always very professional and soothing. The facial beds are really comfortable with lovely linens and blankets to keep you from a chill. There is light music in the background and aside from extractions the lighting is dim. The facial usually lasts about an hour and a half. Pedicures: Incredible. A real pedicure in a spa bed with a fantastic leg massage. Very relaxing. The only thing I wish is that they had space for friends to go together for a pedicure. I have yet to find a place that offers a relaxing, quality pedicure (spa environment) that you can share with your friends. Laser: Best prices I've seen, fantastic results. Products: They carry the best of the best products (GM Collins, Guinot etc) Price: The prices are more than fair for both treatments and products and they have loyalty rewards. read more

Wish I had gotten the esthetician's name, but she was very knowledgeable in what she was doing. New wax and sticks used each time, and the room was clean and sanitary as well. A nice and welcomed touch was disposable underwear being provided. Nice and professional staff, clean and sanitary environment, and great results. Had a great experience here for a bikini wax! Dina was my esthetician and she comes from a family of estheticians--her eyebrows are beautiful! The environment was friendly and warm. They sell products I am interested in --Jane Iredale. I don't go for regular waxes so Dina made me feel really comfortable and the pain was not excruciating. Went there for brazilian waxing from Living Social. That was really bad experience. If I am not mistaken the name of the girl was Jessica (both times unfortunately was the same girl). She was very unfriendly but if it was the only minus. The waxing was so painful that I couldn't imagine it could be so. I've been doing brazilian for a year and been to couple places but this was horrible. Moreover the girl wasn't precise and didn't remove all the hair. During the procedure she didn't say even a single word. I would never recommend people go there for waxing. read more
