Seven of us dined including an 11 year old vegetarian. Yeesh.
It was quite a large dining room. It surprised me that the restaurant hadn't been listed and reviewed separately; especially as it is stand alone really very good.
I decided on two menu options: their soup or squid depending on the answer. The question was is the squid bought in pre - battered frozen or battered in house and as it was in - house I opted for it. I'm glad I did as it was delicious.
All seven of us were delighted with what was served up with ham hock being highly praised by the meat diners - they also had Colman's English mustard, the world's greatest. I'd nearly just give 5 stars for that alone. I dipped my chips into the mustard then the ham hock lot took my mustard to enhance their already delicious ham hock.
I had a tasty cappuccino and happily noted they sold Coca Cola in 330ml bottles when most miserable places rip us off with 200 ml thimble-full portions. Mind you the discerning under 15 year olds hit the mock tails. I gave most of my chips away to them as I'm not much of a fan. I'd give it 3 green stars but they should promote their green credentials even more.
Our seating was comfortable and the staff were exceptionally knowledgable and genuinely friendly.
Oh everything was 'wee' there's a wee pot of mustard, here's your wee coffee; who ordered the wee chicken, would anyone like a wee portion of sriracha...so I hope they enjoy this wee review.
I could only find one wee drawback - one has to pay to get into the restaurant and I'd go without any desire to tour the studio, but that's the rub of the green I suppose. read more
