The salon was really nice and super busy and everyone was definitely friendly. This was my first time at the salon. Brittany did a color and cut on me. First of all not only did she fry my hair badly she also gave me a horrible uneven awkward hair cut. She then goes on to tell me that people don't trust her because she's 22...age is just a number at the end of the day but experience is huge...She has absolutely none! I came in with an idea of what I wanted done to my hair and Niki was able to recreate it perfectly! The ombre she did on my hair is so beautiful and she was so kind and open which made it all the much easier to talk to her about any concerns I was having about my hair. I haven't got a hair cut for ages just because I can never find any great hair stylist and I have a busy work schedule. My hair is damaged from bleaching. Today, I walked into the salon to see if they can take me for a hair cut. Checking in was really easy and smooth. Waiting time wasn't more than 5 mins. Jen took me to her chair and then the magic happened. She was very professional and so patient. She cut off most of my damaged part and gave me the style I wanted. I came in on a recommendation and was very well taken care of, even got free coffee The staff is very professional, upbeat and fun. I worked with their stylist Brittany who I would like to now HIGHLY reccommend. My old stylist never really got creative with my sessions but Brit completely changed my look, 5 stars all around! After chatting about options, she was able to make time for me at 5pm even though the shop closed at 5:30pm. Love this salon I have been coming for about 2 years now. Really reasonably priced. Nikki is my stylist...does the best color always makes sure I'm doing the best things for my hair health which I love because other places I've been to seem to just worry about pushing product and over charging for services. She is really knowledgable about product, color and treatments. She is an over all great person too!! Brittany is another great stylist who has done my daughters hair color and cuts. Our third appointment at One Studio Salon was schedulled with Ali, upon Friday, the 26th of January 2018 Time, 1:30 p.m. We promptly arrived by 1:24 p.m. and were informed Ali was running late (second time); by around 15-20 minutes. This time we arrived prepared with current book to pass the wait time. At long last Ali was ready for our appointment. Upon requesting a cape, we were informed "the washer was broken, they didn't have any clean capes". Yet, whilst seated in her chair, noticed three ladies wearing said capes...? During the appointment, of which consisted of wash, ocean curl style, Ali excused herself mid-blow dry to check on her appointment book. Upon returning to continue the blow-dry, she then, once again excused herself.. Shall her client appointments be so booked back-to-back in that allows her scant opportunity to view upcoming appointments? Upon returning to continue to blow dry our hair, she called out to another stylist regarding re-schedulling of an in-home appointment with an elderly lady. Ali, then excused herself again to check on the call - rescheduling of the appointment. Ali returned, appeared to be pre-occupied, rushed, banging the blow-dryer upon our head, later stating, "oh I just hit you on the head". Yes, again. Zero mention of apology for stepping out, away from the schedulled time within her chair. Upon settling the bill, Ali arrived at the counter - back turned to us. Another gal handled the payment transaction, offering the receipt to sign. Only when offering our thanks to Ali, did she turn to acknowledge our presence at the counter, where we then offered her tip. (of which we shall deeply regret). This was our third, and last final visit to the Studio One Salon in Thousand Oaks, we shant return. First off, I was so happy to find a salon open on Sundays! Called in and they took me the same day! I'm always super nervous to have someone deal with my super thick and curly hair, but the minute I stepped in, I knew that Nikki had this handled! Came in wanting a layered cut, but also something new and exciting. Nikki suggested a sombre (soft ombré) where touch ups wouldn't be necessary and they are a much easier to care for. I can't even explain how happy I am right now. I am the most finicky person when it comes to my hair because it is very long and my hairs are fine and susceptible to breaking easily. Every time I have ever gotten my hair done...I'm never happy. It always comes out brassy or fried. It has been years since I have done anything with it and needless to say I was getting incredibly bored of it. I decided that I wanted a change but was kind of more than nervous. THE KERATIN HAIR TREATMENT WORKS! I was iffy about this prior to going in because I knew it was going to be expensive and I didn't want to be ripped off. I also didn't want to write my review right after I got it. I waited to see if this treatment actually worked. It has been approximately 2 weeks and I love not doing my hair everyday. I wash my hair every 2 days, get out the shower, brush my hair, let it air dry and i don't need to use any hair product to manage. It's great!! I used to always have my hair in a bun because of how ugly it looked down and now I don't even need the straightener! Mind you, I have frizzy/curly/wavy natural hair with messy fly aways all around my hair line, so this treatment helped me as I hoped it did. All I use is my sulfate free shampoo/conditioner. I don't need anything else and it's so amazing. However I did pay 240$, but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth it. read more

It was an OK haircut - my issue is with the Groupon I purchased: the ad was misleading, it stated "value $91" but that is not the price Niki would have charged had I not had a Groupon. I really only saved about 10% instead of the 50% the Groupon states. Also, the ad itself is a bit misleading - it seems to imply that Niki uses special shears and does out of the humdrum ordinary styles haircuts; she does not, it was OK, but it didn't need my traveling 50 m round trip for the first rate haircut i expected. I went in for a tape in hair extension. I was pretty much taken in right away compared to my old salon's long wait. Dani was professional and knowledgeable and I was already out of there with long styled hair in less than 40 minutes. I felt the price was kind of at a higher end but with the cost of hair (I bought them myself) it was about the same as what I used to pay my old stylist. It did however took me a few tries to get a hold of someone to make an appointment because they are always busy. But Dani was kind enough to switch my appointment with another client for I wasn't able to make it to my original appointment time. It is hard to find someone in this area that's as knowledgeable as Dani so I would definitely recommend other to see her for extension needs. read more

I have been wearing hair extensions for many years now, so when I was moving to this area, I contacted several salons in search of a specialist near my new home. I was immediately impressed by the response I got from Danielle (the owner). She was by far the most knowledgeable stylist I spoke to, and was even available for a consultation on a Sunday! I've been at this salon now for nearly three years and could not be happier. Danielle is so amazing, both as a stylist and as a person. I've known many hairdressers and have seen my share of over-inflated egos and prices, NOT at this salon. My other stylist/colorist is Lisa, who is also wonderful. I have recommend her to other people and they always love her for the same reasons, she's great and she's "normal"!
