The blowout itself was great. The stylist who took care of me was super nice and did a great job of reading the room when it came to how much conversation I wanted, which I really appreciated. My one frustration with Drybar in general is the add-ons. Almost every time I book at any location, I add an extra treatment, and somehow it never actually gets done. This time was no exception, but for the first time I actually spoke up at checkout and asked for it to be removed from my bill since I didn't receive it. Small win! I suffer from pretty bad depression, and sometimes something as basic as washing and styling my hair can genuinely feel like a huge task. On those days, I treat myself to Drybar. My depression can also make it difficult for me to advocate for myself or speak up when something is wrong, which is why I've previously just paid for add-ons I didn't receive. I know I need to speak up, but I also wish there were a better system to make sure booked add-ons are actually communicated to the stylist. Overall, I was really happy with my blowout and appreciated how kind and intuitive my stylist was. Thank you!

It has been very difficult for me, I'd been searching for a few years but was never really happy. I wanted a Pixie but I didn't think any of them REALLY listened to me; that is until I cold called Canyon Salon. I have extremely baby fine hair and over the last few years it has thinned out so I was looking for a haircut that made me look like I had more hair but one my thin fine hair would support. I was then assigned to Taylor Gilday. I was nervous at my 1st appt but my philosophy is "hair grows back"... I showed up and immediately was impressed that Taylor was at the front desk waiting for me! She has the most beautiful red hair and her bubbly, friendly personality was like a whole welcoming committee. I'm thinking, this is a good start.... She seats me down at her station and we talk; she's asking me what my thoughts were and we discuss my hair and what I wanted, the problems I have and my concerns. Let me tell you, I'm almost 70 yrs old so I've had a few stylist in my lifetime and I've NEVER had one that took as much time as Taylor did to get to "know" my hair and what I wanted. It was a shock tbh. My previous tries at a Pixie haven't turned out as what I had envisioned, they were, ummm, in a word - bad. When I went to Taylor, I don't know what I was sporting but it certainly wasn't a Pixie by any stretch of the imagination. I was the poster child for "Don't let this happen to you!" I maybe 70 but I don't want to look like an old lady; I still want style. After our extensive talk I asked Taylor what she ultimately thought, was what I was asking for unattainable? She was very honest with me and advised she would need at least 2 tries to get my vision and asked me to trust her and give her the 2 haircuts. I agreed, I had nothing to lose and like I say, it's hair, it'll grow back. She gave me the 1st cut, targeting the areas I had problems with and I walked out with hope. Eight weeks later I went in for the 2nd haircut and left with the BEST haircut I've had in YEARS! I knew right then and there that Taylor was my new "forever" stylist! Taylor is exceptionally good at conversing with her clients; she listens and understands her clients wants, needs, and concerns like no other stylist I've visited and she is amazing at cutting hair. A.MAZ.ING! Contrary to popular belief, Pixies are not an easy style to cut but believe me when I say Taylor knows how to cut a Pixie. And if she can cut a Pixie, she can cut any precision haircut. She is that good! I cannot recommend Taylor Gilday highly enough; I don't know what I would do without her expertise; she's phenomenal!!!

She responded to my inquiry text right away and a few texts later, I was all booked! Her studio is inside the John of Italy Salon. Parking lot is big and right next to entrance, so that's easy. Inside the space are floor to ceiling windows, so there is a ton of natural light, which definitely helps Hidi give you the best, most flawless application. I asked her for brown/golden smokey glam and she absolutely nailed it. Throughout the appointment she would hand me the mirror to check-in and make sure I was happy with how things were progressing, which was super nice. Each time she handed me the mirror, I was more and more in love with her work. By the end of the appointment, I was literally staring at myself in the mirror in awe and feeling/looking like a million bucks. She also did light styling on my hair and gave me soft, gorgeous waves. Honestly, I walked out of the salon, looking like a movie star. The event was super hot and everyone was sweating, but miraculously my makeup stayed put. Thank God Hidi made sure to lock it all in with several finishing sprays -- that definitely saved me. I will absolutely book with Hidi again and I'm so glad I found her.
