There are people who love working out. It gets them ready for the day (or night), gives them energy and they're generally pumped about their next workout.
I am not one of those people.
I'd love to be, but I'm basically the complete opposite. I love food & wine too much (and it shows), so one day I made a pact with myself: join StudioOne, go to class regularly, eat & drink good stuff 80% of the week and for the other 20% of the week, my reward is to have that wine. (Or the Dead Hippie from MeatLiquor. Or that gorgeous Spaghetti Vongole from Antonio's. You get the drift.)
StudioOne had a trial during their opening month so I went to different classes and eventually fell in love with Reformer Pilates. It's challenging, works the entire body and you will feel and see results in a relatively short period of time if you go a few times a week.
THE LOW-DOWN:
+ plenty of Yoga, Reformer Pilates, Boxing, Barre, Cardio classes to choose from
+ most classes are for ANY fitness level
+ they offer full memberships, half memberships, off-peak memberships, pay as you go and special packages
+ full memberships can be canceled any time - no "you sign your life away for a year" nonsense
+ FANTASTIC teachers who know their stuff
+ small, intimate classes (never more than 6-8 people, for Reformer it's max. 4 people) so teachers are able to focus on everyone individually
+ no awkwardness/judging/uncomfortable feeling in any class - everyone, no matter what fitness level, shape or size is made feel welcome and taken care of
+ clean, modern, chic interior
+ super friendly staff
+ convenient location only a short walk from Kings Cross
In short: great new studio with owners & teachers who are passionate about what they do and are committed to making fitness accessible to everyone. read more
