As someone who has a history with pottery but took a few years away from it, finding Studio Manzanita felt like finding my way back to an old passion. What started with a Happy Hour session quickly turned into a membership, and I'm so glad it did.
Studio Manzanita is the first pottery studio in the Rancho Bernardo area, and it's such a valuable addition to the community. The studio itself is beautiful, clean, organized, and thoughtfully designed. Members have dedicated shelf space, access to excellent equipment including Shimpo Whisper wheels, slab rollers, specialty tools, and everything needed to support both beginners and experienced ceramic artists.
What really sets the studio apart, though, is the atmosphere. It's an accessible, welcoming environment where people are encouraged to learn, experiment, and grow. Everyone is kind, supportive, and inspiring. Whether you're asking for advice, celebrating a finished piece, or troubleshooting a glaze, there is a real sense of community.
Yasmine, Ezra, Meha, and Vic have all been incredible. Their knowledge, encouragement, and enthusiasm help create a space where creativity thrives. They genuinely care about helping people succeed and enjoy the process.
I've not only been able to reconnect with pottery, but I've also made friends, created pieces I'm proud of, and found a creative community that I look forward to seeing each week. The member amenities, including a kitchen and comfortable seating area, make it easy to spend hours at the studio working, learning, and connecting with others.
Studio Manzanita has become much more than a place to make pottery--it's a place to create, learn, and belong. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in ceramics, whether you're brand new to clay or returning after time away like I was. read more
