His passion for continued learning is evident, which makes me feel even more confident in his treatments and recommendations. This review is for Pargol, dental hygienist at SDA. I was nervous about going to the dentist after a two- year lull, but Pargol was so compassionate and kind, I didn't have to worry. She was gentle and thorough with my cleaning; I don't think a hygienist has ever spent so much time on my teeth before. She really helped me feel at ease and gave me the best of care. I highly recovered Studio Dental Arts! Shout out to Fernanda at the front desk for being so kind and welcoming, as well. There were several red flags, but I'll start with the first. After I paid for my consultation, I decided to move forward in the first step of treatment by getting my mercury fillings removed. In order to make the appointment, they require you pay in advance. I've never had a medical treatment where you are required to pay in order to schedule the appointment (which was 2 weeks later). Second red flag was the cost of treatment. To have my mercury removed, the price tag was $10k+ which I paid. Phase 2 was going to be extracting 5 root canal teeth which was a shocking $20k estimate. That didn't include phase 3 which would have been implants. I can't even imagine the estimate I would have received for that phase. I found their pricing outrageous and unaffordable and am so glad I left and moved to a more competent, transparent and affordable dentist. read more

Let me start by saying I was a client of this office for I want to say 4 to 5 years. I even remained a loyal client after to moving from the Valley to Hollywood. I had my wisdom teeth removed here, and Maytal is the BEST dental hygienist I have EVER had. She is literally the only reason I stayed at this office.... Until August of last year. Let me give you some back story. My father has Parkinson's - Dementia and was in and out of the emergency room FOUR times August of last year (2021.) One particular trip to the ER, we did not think he was returning home. Now to how this interacts with this office. I had an appointment with this dental office that week that my family thought my father was dying. I no call/ no showed to the appointment. My first ever "offense" with this office. I had never as much as even been LATE in the past. I apologized profusely, informed the office of my family emergency. They were able to bring me in the next day for my routine cleaning. GREAT. Until I am being processed out and they told me that I had to pay the $100 cancellation fee for missing my appointment the day prior. Quite honestly, I found this incredibly insulting. I told the office they had to be kidding. I had been a loyal client for years, never been late, brought referrals, etc. I asked if they could wave this as I had a family emergency, was not in my "right mind" and I had never missed an appointment prior. The office told me in so many words, "you signed the paper, you owe us $100." I told them I was not paying it and that I was incredibly disappointed in them not waiving the fee. I said that this did NOT make me feel like a valued client, but a "number and a pay day" to them instead. They said, "With your permission, we will ask your insurance to pay for your no show fee..." I said FINE, as I wanted out of there and did not wish to talk to this office any more. I was under the assumption that there would be some sort of "no show" they would file with my insurance. Fast forward to this past week. I log into my dental insurance portal because I am now ready to change dentists. I am moving on.... Until I see that THIS OFFICE had filed with my insurance that I had had "Palliative Care" the date that I missed my appointment. Now, I called my insurance and asked what that meant. They told me that it meant I had emergency dental care that date, and asked if I remembered if I did. I told them absolutely NOT, that I did NOT have any form of emergency care at this office EVER. I was able to figure out, through calling the office, that they had committed INSURANCE FRAUD because they wanted their $100 SO BADLY. My insurance told me they do NOT pay for no shows. When I asked the office why they did this, they said "We were trying to help you by getting your insurance to pay for your $100." I told them they could HELP ME by WAIVING the fee! I asked why they billed it under this, and why they got paid $153, not the $100 that the fee indeed was. Her response was, "oh... that is what insurance pays for no shows..." It isn't, it's what they pay for emergency dental care. I FULLY SUPPORT EVERY previous post on here about this office being money hungry. They wanted $100 SOOO badly for my cancelation fee, that were willing to commit insurance fraud to obtain it. Obviously, my insurance reversed this payment. THEN the office said NOW I had to pay the $100, and in so many words, "if I would have kept my mouth shut, you wouldn't owe anything...." Well I paid the $100. And I hope the office is happy, because that $100 bought them this Yelp review, lost them a client and referrals, AND got them an official fraud claim with my dental insurance. GO ELSEWHERE!!! We live in LA, there are SO MANY better places to go than here! read more

Do yourself a favor and don't see another dentist until after you go to Studio Dental! Get the consult- take the time to read info on his website and you will thank me later. You won't find a more honest guy who genuinely wants to help educate people on prevention. Dr. Gazarian runs a spotless, state of the art office. He spens time educating patients about diet, supplements and mouth care above and beyond the norm. He and his great staff are pro's. Today was teeth cleaning day. Dental hygienist Pargol performed a thorough and pain free procedure including x-rays. She was gentle and personable. Lastly Fernanda was at the desk where business is handled. Dr Chris was the final step in resolving decades of my battle with Lyme disease. He saw what no other dentist ever even knew to look for in the first place. On my initial consult, he sat with me for over an hour and did what is rarely done in medicine these days - he listened. And he educated me. And from there, with no pressure, I made the decision to move forward with treatment to finally resolve the Lyme disease. I had 4 infected cavitations and 1 root canal removed by the oral surgeon he partners with who is beyond incredible. I could text him day or night as I was recovering. I was taken care of with such kindness and compassion. If you have Lyme, you know doctors are rarely kind to us and they rarely actually find lasting solutions. I was referred by my orthodontist. I live in Orange County and I've had horrible experiences with other dentists and orthodontists (see my other reviews). So i decided to make the trip 2 hours one way because I have complicated health issues and I just have high standards of bedside manner and ethics with doctors. I'm a doctor (Psy. D) and I take patient care seriously and I've had to travel across the country to make sure I find the best doctors who take my symptoms seriously. Dr. Chris was phenomenal. He gave the best education consult I have ever had when it comes to teeth and oral health. Second, my mother, who is a RN, came to my appt. for support and she was impressed with him as well. Also his assistants in the office were ALL pleasant. Even from the beginning with friendly personal texts for reminders and also just overall gentleness in the appt. I have very sensitive teeth and my cleaning was sooooo comfortable. Last, if it wasn't implied, their professionalism was great. They handled my insurance without any issues, no weird sales or dishonesty. On a personal tip, their openness to my opinions, feelings, thoughts, views on health was respected by everyone. I'll probably keep making the 2 hour one way drive because good doctors are hard to find. read more

This review is for Pargol, dental hygienist. On my prior visit she told me that my gums were receding too much, and that they'd need to do a special deep cleaning next time. I'd never heard that before! However, she recommended that I use some small interdental cleaning sticks after every meal, because since my teeth are spaced far apart, the trapped food was causing the problem and flossing wasn't helping enough...I followed her suggestion and I've never had such a clean mouth! My next visit she said that everything was way better, the gums looked healthy again, and no special procedures were needed! I have been to at least 5 dentists and they were no where near to be in comparison with Dr. Gazarian. His knowledge and treatment approach is impeccable. The 100-150 5Star reviews of others don't mean anything, all they care about is quantity of their clients and focus more on offering low prices by compromising quality. I have never seen any type of doctor to go into the consultation so much in depth that the office people had to interrupt the consulation several time to let him know that they need to leave and it's the end of the work day. It was a blessing to find him and gain the knowledge that he had given and plus to meet a doctor who actually cares and does the best for his clients. There is so much to write about him but in one word, he is the BEST in the business. On top of this office girls are awesome and that $50 cancellation fee is totally on point. It's there for people to be responsible and not waste the doctor's time, it's not there for him to make money off of people. read more

I was told what I heard $40 cancellation fee but I guess according to them it was $50 but wait there's more, depending on WHEN you cancel, it will go up to $100. Most unethical business I've ever encountered. I would recommend to any friend to run and not walk away from this office. Efforts were made to discuss problems politely with Dr. Gazarian. Unfortunately, all communication attempts were made as difficult as possible in the most passive aggressive ways by him and a staff member. Honestly and integrity seemed to be of no priority, only a deflecting away from acknowledging any responsibility for the poor quality, overpriced work I received in this office. Some businesses seem friendly and polite and can be, but the true test of that seeming niceness will be shown when things don't go well which can happen in dentistry. What I experienced from this office when things did not go well is something I wouldn't wish on any human. It was gaslighting extreme. Dr. Gazarian had unlimited time to share information when he was trying to sell me many costly procedures, but then no useful information to share after the money was received and the results were horrible. I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Chris, whose office is within walking distance from mine! Dr. Chris is the first dentist who I believe sincerely cares about my well-being. He has always taken the time to examine my dental maintenance between cleanings, look for areas to improve, and offer proactive solutions. He and everyone in his office have consistently bent over backwards to accommodate me and help me carefully consider my options for procedures, along with their financial impact. My two front teeth have had white spots since they came in during childhood; I never did anything about them because dentists always recommended pricey cosmetic procedures. Dr. Chris offered me a newly developed treatment that was safer for my teeth, economical, and most importantly, worked! My pre-Dr. Chris mouth also required a couple fillings when I became his patient. I realize we all have different pain barometers, but these were the most pleasant dental procedures I've ever had. Dr.Gazarian is the only dentist who I trust. So much so that I've had to drive 2 hours from where I live to his office each time I had an appointment. I'm always excited to drive there because he truly cares about his patients' needs and does what is best for our health. His biological/holistic approach to dentistry is simply impeccable. He is a member of the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) whose mission statement is "to be the trusted Academy of medical, dental and research professionals who investigate and communicate safe science-based treatments to promote whole body health". His front desk staff are kind, caring, welcoming professionals who make me feel at home. They ensure that I know exactly what is going to happen at each appointment and make sure to call to remind me of my upcoming visits. I had 8 amalgam fillings removed in August 2020 and he made sure to remove every last bit of them down to the tiniest speck. Not just that but he used every safety precaution on myself, himself, and his team to make sure that nobody breathed in the vapor released from the fillings. He also educated me on the importance of nutrients needed to promote dental and overall health. Knowledge that I never knew about that has helped me tremendously with resolving health issues including high blood pressure, fatigue, chronic anxiety, and mood swings to name a few. Two weeks ago I went in to get tooth #30 extracted because of an infection that had been giving me pain every now and then for the past couple of years. The oral surgery team did an amazing job extracting and cleaning the infection. They also put in a bone graft because I had significant bone loss in my jaw. I didn't feel any pain or feel discomfort during or after the procedure. The team let me know exactly what I had to do post-procedure to make sure that the extraction site would heal quickly and effectively. What should've taken about 4 weeks to heal happened in 2 weeks. I didn't feel any pain at all since having that tooth extracted two weeks ago. There are so many dentists to choose from but very few that exceed expectations. Right off the bat, Chris didn't ask questions about what was the reason I came in, but invested sincere interest about who I was. I felt like he genuinely cared to know his patients which created a dynamic I've never experienced at a dentist's office. Another aspect I admired was that he is very knowledgeable and provides a thorough explanation throughout the whole process. He values his patients instead of treating them like a number which seems to be the norm with other doctors and dentists. Overall the entire staff seem very happy to be working there and go out of their way to treat me like a king. I saw the Dr 3 months ago. I implemented his supplements as I have lyme and was recovering from mold toxicity and sibo. My iodine, d and iron were all low. Same with glutathione. I want to get my root canals removed and he wanted me to have higher numbers to promote better healing. He gave my in depth knowledge on how to do this. I even herxed on the boron as he warned me. He wasn't wrong. Go gradual. :) my numbers are all in the normal range now except glutathione because my body is still detoxing. I'll be back to have my dead teeth removed in a few more months once I'm vaccinated for covid 19. read more

This review is for the horrible customer service that I received at the Studio City location (they seemed friendly, but the only want your money). I found this location thru my insurance's website. I called them and asked if they will accept my insurance ( I asked them because previously I saw another dentist). So they "checked" my benefits and the mentioned to me that I will be in charge of my co-pay, and the X-ray will be not included. I said okay, I needed a consultation with a periodontist because later I will have to find a general dentist. During the conversation, they told me that, we have a general dentist in here as well. Would you like to meet him?, I said, sure. Whatever is included in my insurance. They told me sure (stupid of me to believe them). Anyway, I had the consultation with the periodontist and later with the general dentist (they took one X-ray for free which, I appreciated). My insurance covered the periodontist fees but not the general dentist. Some they give an estimate for only one inlay for $1340.00 which I thought was a bit pricey. They recommended applying for CareCredit ( I felt a bit forced to do that at their office) because I did not want to start the new year with this extra bill. So, I applied and right of way they took the money, even though this procedure was not even scheduled yet. They scheduled me for the first procedure more than one month away. So, I went home and during the week, I changed my mind. I did not want to wait that long for the first procedure and who knows when the second one will be scheduled? So I called them to cancel the procedures ( they DID NOT like that.) I asked they if they could refund the $1340.00 to careCredit. They were surprised, and they told me that they've never had this kind of situation. I told them that careCredit did not have any penalty for canceling this procedure because It was not even scheduled yet. So, they dentist's office told me, I need to call you back, and they will let me know about the refund. They called me back saying that I owed them $275.00 for the general dentist consultation. I was extremely surprised by this. They had NEVER mentioned to me that there was a consultation fee. (They told me before the appointments that I will be in charged for my co-pay only). So I have to pay them the $275.00. Otherwise, they will not refund the $1340.00 to careCredit. I said fine. SO I thought, well they are charging me all this money, right? I should have these procedures sooner rather than later. So I called them back and asked nicely if they could give me an earlier appointment. They said sure, let's see what is available. (I told them, well you have two locations, I can go to the other one if I have to.) To which they replied, the dentists just work in this office. I asked, so why are the two locations are shown on your website, and they did not answer that which I thought was strange. So they called me back saying that if they just could change the time (one hour earlier but not the day), and I said, well this is not helping me because that is still more than a month away for the first procedure. Jessica, whom I had been working with says, you are so negative, so I WILL NOT change your appointment. I ended up paying the $275. 00 stupid "consultation fee" that they never mentioned to me and didn't end up doing any of the other procedures. Beware, they seem to care more about the money than their patients. Don't make the same mistake that I did. DO NOT trust them 1/29/2016 Hi Chris, Thank you for responding my post on Yelp. I was not debating that you are a great dentist at all. The review was for the service that I received from the front desk. I've never had any dentist (or any doctor, for that matter) be as sincerely interested in my dental/medical history and piecing together the puzzle to identify the cause of current issues. Dr. Gazarian made it clear that I had his full attention and welcomed me to ask as many questions as I had a mind to. He's deeply interested in preventative care - not just brushing and flossing, but treating teeth as a part of the whole body, and how issues in the mouth can indicate issues elsewhere in the body (and vice versa). He works like a partner in your health, giving the guidance needed to set you out on the right path toward taking responsibility for correcting your health issues. I also had an excellent cleaning from May, who was a delight, as was everyone else supporting the office. My experience at Studio Dental Arts was extraordinary. Dr. Gazarian is a personable and knowledgeable professional who treats his patients like complete humans rather than sets of teeth attached to wallets. His staff follow suit, and the entire office atmosphere makes going to the dentist oddly pleasant. I went to Studio Dental Arts after seeking an in-network doctor who could fix a cracked tooth, but having little success. Not only did Dr. Gazarian and the Studio Dental Arts staff do an excellent job with the root canal and crown, they also identified the issue and explained it to me in a way that made sense. Some of the other docs I'd seen seemed to think that pain alone was enough evidence to begin drilling, but Dr. Gazarian found the source of my pain, which made me feel better about paying for the procedure, etc. When I was finished with the root canal, crown procedure, and cleaning, I walked away from Studio Dental Arts with more knowledge about how to care for my teeth. Dr. Gazarian taught me how to brush and floss, which apparently I didn't actually already know. I never thought that going to a dentist could be pleasant experience. I had not been to dentist for about 6 years. Finding Dr. Gazarian and the staff was accidental from Yelp and I am glad I did. Dr. Gazarian was very kind, helpful, and full of information. He took the time to explain me everything, teach me how to floss and brush properly, although I am a grown woman who should know. Wanna go to the dentist? YES!!! (...but only if it's Dr. Chris) My wife and I hadn't seen a dentist in years. After googling dentists in the neighborhood, she booked us for appointments at Studio Dental Arts. And, WOW. We could not have had a better experience. Dr. Chris's offices are quiet and quite comfortable. It's cozy... not the scary, sterile environment I remember from childhood. The equipment there is all new and state-of-the-art. The waiting area is filled with books, magazines, and a large plasma TV. But, the REAL gem of the place is the PEOPLE. Upon arrival, Lala (the assistant/receptionist) greeted us with her warm smile and caring personality. She got us situated and made us feel as comfortable as possible. Before our cleanings, Dr. Chris spent time to personally get to know each of us, and made sure to answer any questions or concerns that we might have about our teeth. He told us about how he practiced under his father for many years, and then left the family's office's fast-paced, sometimes frenetic environment to start his own practice at Studio Dental Arts. He had a vision: to open a place where he could be comfortable, listen to classical music, and spend plenty of personal time with each and every patient. And that's exactly what he did. We had such an amazing experience, we talked about for the rest of the day. And, crazy as it sounds... WE CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR NEXT CLEANING! We will be recommending Dr. Chris to everyone we know. I came to consult with Dr. Chris Gazarian regarding a removal of a bottom molar which had to be surgically removed. Dr. Gazarian took the time to explain every detail of what the surgery would entail from not only removing the tooth and its root but also the periodontal lining which is critical in proper healing. He discussed with me the need for a bone graft at the time of the surgery in order to prepare the gum area at a later time for a tooth replacement whether the replacement was in the form of a partial removable denture, or a bridge, or an eventual implant. None of the the other dentists I consulted with explained in detail what I, as a patient, needed to know. For example there was a dentist who was prepared to remove the tooth but failed to discuss the need for a bone graft in order to prevent that area of the gum from collapsing and preserving its integrity. I learned if a bone graft is not performed at the time of the excision surgery, the patient will need to come back for a second bone graft and gum reconstruction surgery which is very costly. This is definitely a detail which needs to be foretold to the patient. Dr. Gazarian's counsel was caring and designed for the patient's interest. He is a wonderful doctor. Unfortunately, since he does not perform oral surgeries, the extraction was in the end performed by an oral surgeon. However, I am very grateful for the consult. Thank you Dr. Chris. read more

I suppose there should be something said about this organization's title... "Studio Dental ARTS..." They certainly bring "art" into dentistry. Between the clean and tidy offices and patient areas, state-of-the-art equipment (I felt like I was in an Apple store!), patient care that is seldom paralleled and courteous employees and doctors, they earned their title of "...Arts" I have had a root canal, one crown, a couple fillings and cleaning/checkups. I always hear how painful and involving a root canal can be. They made the experience go by with minimal pain and had me chuckling through the procedure :) I ACTUALLY look forward to going there all the time because they are such personable people. The prices are competitive (even with Dental PPO, the bill can add up anywhere). I recommend them above anyone else... read more

I love Dr. G and Lala! I hadn't been to the dentist in probably 3-4 years before I started seeing Dr. Gazarian on my mom's recommendation. He is far and away the best, most caring, most informative and genuinely nice dentist I have ever had. You can imagine what kind of shape my teeth were in after not having seen a dentist in so long. I had a four (!!!) cavities and ended up needing a root canal last year. Needless to say, I got to know Dr. G pretty well since his office became my second home for awhile. Now, I'm not gonna say that four fillings and a root canal were pleasant experiences, but they were as pleasant as they could possibly be thanks in large part to the positive and friendly staff at Studio Dental Arts. Dr. G does all of the cleanings himself and really takes time to talk to you about what's going on with your teeth and health in general. He explains things very thoroughly in a way that's easy to understand. Our whole family and several friends are patients now - that says it all! read more

I cannot say enough good things about him, his assistants, his office. When I go in I feel like family (weird huh)! He does a very professional job. WARNING! Money hungry SCAM ARTISTS! I came in with a $67 coupon that was to cover x rays and a cleaning. I double checked this with the front desk and they assured me that was correct. I then was taken to get the x rays and then taken in to a room. Dr. Gazarian soon after came in to talk to me about my teeth and said I had a terrible gum disease that would 100% result in diabetes (I am a young, healthy and fit person who goes to the gym everyday and isn't overweight) and that to reverse this I would have to change my diet; specifically that I would have to begin eating for my blood type in addition to the deep cleaning I would need to get done. I ended up chatting for 45 minutes and I appreciated his time. After he left a woman came in to go through the list of procedures I would need in order to reverse the gum disease and it totaled a whopping $2000! I told her I refused to pay anything more than the $67 that was agreed and she proceeded with her sales pitch as to why each procedure was needed - and boy did she have an answer for everything. She had clearly been drilled to have an answer for everything a customer could possibly refute and when I asked to speak to Dr. Gazarian again she said he was busy. I then said I would wait until he had time and she said he was busy the rest of the day. How convenient! He had 45 mins to talk to me about how diabetes was in my indefinite future and that I should "eat for my blood type" but doesn't have time to discuss my refute. I decided to leave and when I walked back into the lobby that's when I noticed all the books on eating for your blood type. I went to the front desk and that's when they told me that the consultation + X-ray would cost me $47. I said I would not pay for the consultation as that was not the deal but would pay for the x rays so long as they agreed to give them to me. They said they couldn't do that and so I said then they could them to my email. She said she would and I asked her to do it right then and there. She said she couldn't do it then but would do it later. I asked her to please send them to me within the next two hours and she said okay but it was like pulling teeth to get my X-rays even after that (pardon the pun). Long story short, these guys are unethical, shady scam artists that sound so intellectually smart they'll manipulate you into spending all your money! They run on the tactic of instilling fear first and then going in for the kill to rob you for as much as they can. And don't be fooled; they seem very sweet, apologetic and nice, particularly in response to angry customers, but this is all a part of the SCAM! They're gaslighting angry customers! In addition, I went to a second dentist to get a second opinion who said I had great teeth and no sign of a gum disease and I told her about the ordeal I had with Dr. Gazarian to which she responded with, he sounds like a lunatic. RESPONSE TO BELOW: You're so quick to get on yelp and google reviews to attack, undermine and condescend people who have had a negative experience! You clearly can't take constructive feedback gracefully or kindly and nor do you make any attempt to rectify the situation, or are you just scared people will find out your real motives? Somebody has to speak out about you and warn people of your cruel intentions to rob them of their hard earned money! read more
