Near the entrance there were rows of semi-precious gemstone rings in an open display with price tags of $270 or so, which seemed odd to me because 1) if they were truly worth anywhere near that, they would not be out in the open like that and 2) I have purchased rings of near identical design and quality for $40. There are dozens of real local artists to be proud of in this beautiful mountain town. They should be celebrated and supported. It was more than a little frustrating that it took me telling my husband that the bracelet matches my watch before the woman working in the store bothered to acknowledge us. We left. I told my husband I was considering purchasing the cuff as a birthday present for myself...but couldn't imagine spending my money in a location who took one look at my husband and myself and decided we couldn't afford anything in the store.
