My wait time was short. At the bowl the lady shampooing my hair asked if I wanted a deep conditioner. I told her yes initially, she told me it'd be an extra $10 I said ok. I look at the time a realized I didn't have enough time to do the deep conditioner, she said ok. She proceeded to do what I assumed was a regular conditioner and detangle (I'm natural this was also VERY visible when I entered the salon) I was told to sit in another chair (with conditioner in my hair) she began washing someone else then after speaking with her coworker decided to rinse my hair out. For some reason my hair got blowdried instead of set on rollers. I go up to the desk to pay and the owner says "oh you got a deep conditioner too right" I explained to her what happens and she says ok. She then proceeded to tell me that my services came up to $80, a $15-$20 hike SUDDENLY. When I asked why is it something different than what I was quoted, and she told me it was due to my hair needing to be detangled. When I asked if they could tell me that the deep conditioner was an added service why didn't they mention the added detangling fee, she responded with the total again saying my hair was really tangled. The detangling process took all of 15 mins ( I KEEEP my hair pressed, I'm a "straight natural"). I wouldn't spend another copper red cent here. I'm also terrified I have heat damage now because of the amount times she passed the flat iron over my hair. I need to edit this and say that my scalp is still dirty but according to the owner my scalp is dry. Save yourself and save your coins.

If you have Type 3 or 4 hair particularly 4C please proceed with caution. I went in with a full head of healthy, shoulder-length hair. I had just taken out braids and detangled my hair before my appointment. Despite that, the stylist handled my hair with little to no care during the shampoo and conditioning process. It became painfully clear that they were not trained or equipped to properly manage 4C hair textures. By the time my appointment ended, I was in tears. I went in with thick, healthy hair and left with thin, broken strands and see-through ends. Damaged to the point where I will now have to go back to a pixie cut. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive a style that involved direct heat just a roller set under a dryer. So there is no reason my hair should have sustained this level of damage. When I brought up my concerns to the owner, instead of offering an apology or trying to make it right, she told me my hair was already broken when I arrived. That was simply not true. My regular stylist, who has helped me grow my hair out from a pixie cut over the past four years, can vouch for the condition my hair was in before I walked into this salon. The only reason I came here was because my usual stylist was unavailable. To be dismissed, insulted, and told to leave the salon because I voiced my frustration was incredibly unprofessional. Hearing the owner insult me in Spanish on top of everything else only made the experience worse. This salon does not prioritize the health of your hair, nor does it have the skill or care to manage natural textures. Please save yourself the trauma and go somewhere that respects and understands your hair type. Worst decision I've made for my hair. I'll never return--and I hope you don't either.
