First of all, the space is a gorgeous blend of modern with historic St Paul woven in. Upon arrival you are offered complementary drinks, so I opted for an iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. It was absolutely delicious, made with high quality espresso. Monica Turner is my stylist and she is an incredibly talented professional. I've had my hair colored by her a number of times, and she is a true genius who can take my vague description and turn it into a stunning final product! I love being in Monica's chair and am so grateful to have finally found a hair person who just gets me. Street parking available around the salon and it's easy to make an appointment online. Meaning they rarely run late, they always stick to their commitments and they give you the cut and color you want. They're also honest enough to tell you if your hair just won't do that. Their clientele runs the gamut from trendy to traditional and young to old. I love that they focus on what matters to their clients from reasonable rates to a core list of services. She listens to you, she is a perfectionist, she is thorough and she's just the best at what she does. I went in there with a ombre/balayage. It was growing out and looking a little brassy. I asked for a cut that would fit my lifestyle: mom, no time in the morning to get ready and easy to style. I also asked for a balayage that would look natural and grow out to look naturally too. I don't have time to go to the salon every 2-3 months like my younger days. Sarah gave me the most beautiful color. When you go close up to my hair, the colors blend together like boyz 2 men singing a harmony. It was insane! The person who did my balayage before, did a good job, but Sarah did a perfect job. She gave me a cut that compliment my face and lifestyle. I walked out of the salon that day feeling like a million bucks. Not to mention I got stopped so many times by people, telling me how they love my hair and that I looked like a famous person (but thats another story). Talk didn't seem force, it flowed naturally. Received a Men's Haircut today from Great Clips. I was very pleased with the results of the haircut…read morealthough my typical hairdo is very easy to do. The price here is extremely reasonable, especially when considering how crazy some other places have gotten: $20 + tip but including tax for a men's haircut. The downside is that the wait times here are absolutely insane, reached over 100 min while I was waiting and I probably waited around 30 min in person and 50 min online. For this reason, it is ESSENTIAL that you check in online. Otherwise if you just show up, you have no chance. Another downside is that the algorithm for predicting wait times is completely inaccurate, and there seems to be a lot of inefficiency within the store. It was a rush time and they were only staffed with 2 employees. That being said, if you have the time to wait, it is worth it, but if you don't - steer far clear.
