This salon could improve by offering appointments to new clients. I called, tried the individual stylist as directed, no answer. Texted as preferred and heard back. No availability. Asked about other stylists. She got back to me and said no other stylists were available. No future appointments were offered from any staff. Perhaps they are all booked up or aren't in need of business. read more

I have natural curly hair and I asked for a stylist that was very familiar with my type of hair. Danielle was recommended. I wanted my hair layered. She recommended where I should have it layered and its length because curly hair shrinks I shouldn't have too many layers. She trimmed, washed and styled my hair beautifully. Review from my first visit Oct. 7th I felt so lucky to get in for an appointment here on a last-minute decision to get my hair colored. I found them searching on Yelp and could have made an appointment online, but opted to just call. That worked out since the hair stylist had an opening due to cancellations. Yay for me! I know most (great) stylists are booked months in advance, but I felt like it was my lucky day! Haha. Same day appointment! Woohoo. I mean, I haven't had any self care appointments in several months, so it was like winning the lottery. Okay, that may be an exaggeration. All I can say is, if you're not sure, I recommend giving this salon a chance! I'm definitely returning for my next hair care and getting a nail care appointment, too! It's been 10 months since I've had my last hair cut/trim. I was calling calling Salons, and had also used YELP to set up appointment, but it seemed like most of the hair salons were booked months in advance. I happened to call Studio 841, and they had an availability, so with excitement I booked an appointment. The day came with excitement, because finally, I was able to get a much deserved hair cut and color. Upon walking in, I noticed that the place was clean, and the young lady (Arianna) who I had an appointment with greeted me almost immediately. I told her what I wanted done, we chose a color and she set to work on what I had requested. When she was done coloring my hair, she had said that she would be back to clean off the excess dye that was on my forehead, but did not reappear until it was time to rinse/shampoo my hair. I had thought that perhaps during the process, she would wash it off. Back to the chair, where I had asked that my hair be trimmed, and perhaps layered a bit. She asked if I wanted my hair curled or straighten. I opted for the latter. (I'm frustrated as I'm typing this!) Anyway, when she was done, I paid for the service and went into my car, where I pulled the visor down to look in the mirror. She didn't clean off my forehead, where I had splotches of dye. My ears had dye and the coloring was bad! I went back inside and asked her what can be done. She replied with, it will come off when I shampoo my hair or use a damp towel with dishwashing liquid. Really?? Why couldn't this be done when she was shampooing my hair? And to top it off, there is an area of my hair that wasn't colored. I am so disappointed. Spent all that money for a half ass job. And NO, I won't be back again. read more

The young lady that cut my hair was kind, but she completely butchered it. It is ruined. It is so short and uneven and now I have to find someplace to go to fix this mess. We were passing through Barstow and really needed our hair cut and some pampering after several days of camping and being on the road. Summer took my boyfriend and I as walk ins and did such a fantastic job on my hair! She was very sweet and enjoyable to talk to while getting my hair done (it's super thick so we spoke for a while, lol) and she did everything my boyfriend and I asked and more! Alyssa was my nail technician. She was very sweet and took her time into doing my nails and made sure that I liked them 100%. She made me feel very comfortable with pointing out the little things. My nails came out so beautiful. This full set was only 40 bucks when other nail salons charge about 50 or 60. Most definitely coming back. Great customer service! read more

For a small town this is not a place you would expect. A little hard to find BUT once you do and walk in you will be very happy you did! You walk in and are pleasantly surprised at its "high class" look and feel. Very clean place. They care about their establishment. You are greeted at a nice and helpful lady at the desk. My stylist was Tammy Burns...GREAT lady, very helpful and down to earth. She helps find the right look for you and genuinely cares about your look and more importantly your hair (that's what I had done) and very comfortable atmosphere. They offer you a selection of tea, coffee and water and will bring it to you if you like. They are friendly to kids as well. I was very impressed with my service and all the other services Studio 841 offers. You won't regret visiting the ladies here. read more

Was in town for a party and need a quick correction. My cousin recommended this shop. So I gave them a call. I was able to get in later that afternoon. There where a little pricy. But at this point it didn't matter. I needed it cut. They need more signage or something to make them stand out. I know the area but I still passed them up. First off many people are hesitant to go and get any kind of pampering in Barstow. I live in Victorville and didn't think I'd find anything up here. Based off of the reviews I read I thought I'd give this place a try. I got my first ever Brazilian last Friday and I must say Cricket made this experience super easy, comfortable, and as painless as possible. She kept assuring me that she would take good care of me. This place sucks. I have been there several times and the service seemed not as well as I expected. The nail techs polishes lasted like 3 days and it should be at least 2 weeks. Especially for gel. Colored and cut, I didn't want to drive the 1-1/2 hours down the hill so I tried studio 841 and Marisol did my hair, I love it! She was so nice and suggestive and did an awesome job! I LOVED this place. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I asked for balayage highlights after trying to get them somewhere else (unsuccessful) and Michele did them perfectly. I was so pleased, I haven't been this happy with my hair in so long.
