After about two hours, I could barely see any difference in my hair. The only noticeable result was that my hair felt much drier and more damaged. She then told me that because my hair was very dark, she could not make it lighter. That is unacceptable because she saw my hair before starting and still told me she could do it. Since she could see that I was unhappy, she offered me a discount to come back a second time and redo the process to get the lightness I originally wanted. I went back, spent another two to three hours there, and after all that, she put a dark color over the lightened parts and left it on for about 20 minutes. The result was still almost nothing--just dry, damaged hair with barely any visible change. Even my friend could not tell that I had done anything to my hair. I paid $500 and got basically no result. If you have dark hair, I do not recommend trusting Niki Moon Salon for balayage or highlight or ... They may say they can do it, but in my experience, they could not deliver the result they promised. The stylist later said she put dark color over the lightened areas because I told her I did not want red or yellow tones. But I have had balayage done many times before and achieved lighter results without red or yellow tones. Avoiding brassiness should not mean making the hair dark again and leaving the client with no visible result. In my opinion, if a stylist cannot achieve the requested result on dark hair, they should be honest before starting instead of wasting the client's time and money. I do not recommend Niki Moon Salon for people who are not already blonde. This photo was taken right after her second appointment. Can you see any difference? I couldn't either! I also showed the hairstylist a picture of what I wanted. $500 for... nothing!

I loved how natural looking it came out, and not too blonde/brassy. She was very detail oriented and we did a second round of dye after the initial highlights felt too stripey. It came out to $240 total plus tip, which is cheap compared to where I live now but on the higher end for the area. The facilities are very clean and modern!

He took the time to understand the style I wanted and recommended the type of perm that would be best for me. Since I came to the salon around 5 pm, there wasn't enough time to do both services that day. But thankfully Sam was able to fit me in for a weekend appointment. When I came back, Sam went over the perm design with me again to make sure we were on the same page. I was honestly worried about damaging my hair since I had just colored it a few days earlier, but Sam reassured me and explained everything throughout the process. He checked the condition of my hair frequently, and whenever I had questions, he explained what products he was using. That really showed his professionalism and put me at ease. The assistants were also very attentive and kept checking to make sure I was comfortable, which made the whole experience relaxing. The best part was the final result. Even when my hair was still wet after the wash, I already knew I loved it. As he dried my hair, Sam showed me how to style and dry it at home, so I could style it the same way myself. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. It looks exactly the way I wanted, and I'm so happy with the result. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a designer who is thoughtful and genuinely cares about his clients.

I have been getting my hair colored since 13 and aware of the capabilities and limitations, but this is so subpar for $400. Hopefully, it will lighten up after a few washes/will have to go elsewhere to get it corrected. Also, I despise a salon that requires that you purchase a blow dry. $70 extra so I can see what color you turned my hair? Am I supposed to walk out with it wet? The blow dry is not a full, bouncy blowout either. It's what you'd do yourself at your house. Added negative, I referred my mother to the salon and was told by her that I'd receive a referral gift.
