The reformers are the super nice ones - not the budget fold up ones that you find at the gym. The instructors are all seasoned in the art of instructing. The owner is Chea and she suggests that you do a session of private one on one classes before jumping into the group classes. I found this to be a really good way to get acclimated to the moves and the lingo if you are just starting out with pilates. She really concentrates on you getting your form down right before you move to the group classes. The group classes themselves are small - about 5 women at most, although there is room for 10. I have been coming here for years and I love the classes! Mondays are the cardiolates class with Karen that really gets your heart pumping. Chea teaches herself on Wednesdays and it's a more mellow class than the other days. Wendy teaches in the AM and she makes you hold your poses forever which is a really great way to tone your body. I highly reccomend this place to anyone looking for a good pilates studio.

Teague Pilates is very unique and actually changes your body from the bone to the skin. The movements are very specific and slow. There are fewer reps. There is deep attention to the core. Teague Pilates get into the very tiny muscles next to the bone. The results are significant. I am 75 years old with two hip replacements and a broken humerus that never healed. What I love most is that Tatiana has created a space where women (and men) of all ages can feel welcome, build confidence, and discover just how strong they are. I took my first strength training class with Coach Eriika and happened to be the only person there. My first thought? Run! I'm starting to see results, which is awesome - my waist is trimmer, and I definitely have more muscle definition in my arms and legs. I also can tell I've gotten stronger - I feel that in my day to day life just doing regular stuff. Hiking, doing stuff in my garden, grocery store trips - I feel sturdier on my feet and a little more agile. One of my favorite moments in working out is when we discover I've gotten strong or confident enough to do a particular exercise I couldn't do before! And I totally appreciate Holly's expertise & judgement - she is cautious and always modifies or changes an exercise if something hurts or is off and I feel safe in that she won't have me do anything that's going to cause an injury. She is mindful of skipping positions that will unnecessarily strain my joints (like knees) and instead replacing them with exercises that will target the same muscle but be easier on the joint involved. I also really like Holly as a person - she's smart, patient, funny, kind, appropriately challenging.
