I had my hair cut by Jessica. After I the first wash at…read morehome, as I was styling my hair, I noticed a very obvious "line". Like she had begun to layer my hair, but, stopped. Using the contact form on the website, I reached out to her. I told her I had noticed an issue with my cut, and asked her to reach out at her earliest convenience. Nothing. I tried again to get her to contact me. Nothing. I gave her two weeks to respond the first time. And another two after my second attempt. I paid 70 dollars for the cut and gave her 30 dollars for a tip. Which I think was generous considering I wasn't even offered anything to drink. For someone who says they have over 20 years experience, sure seemed pretty unprofessional to me. Hoping this helps someone else avoid my mistake in choosing this salon. After looking at the reviews again, all the good reviews are from 3 or more years ago. All the current reviews are 1 star reviews!!

I just had a wonderful appointment for a cut and color with Sheli Duncan. She is such a pro at what…read moreshe does and the experience was a 10/10 all around! She's been doing hair for many years and it shows with her skill level and confidence. For my color, she whipped up a custom concoction that is pretty much the exact color in the reference photo I showed her! Not many stylists can do this. She took her time where she needed to and let my hair color sink in for a good amount of time (lots of other stylists rush this and the color doesn't get enough time to saturate. My cut was fast and you can feel her confident hands at work doing exactly what my hair needed. She styled me afterwards and I walked out loving it so much I forgot to take photos at the salon! Beyond the cut and color, we had lovely conversations and laughs together. A truly great stylist will get your hair right AND be a good listener and conversationalist. It's like salon therapy for me!

I am so happy I went here! I live across the street from…read morehere and was in need of a haircut. I had passed by a few times at night and had always enjoyed looking at their decor through the window. Nice plants, cool vintage chairs with jewels, and satisfying blue color scheme. I decided to give them a call to book. Lila was able to work with my schedule and help me within 15 minutes, since her 3:00 pm slot was too late for me. She sat me down after offering me a refreshment and we sat and talked about the shape I wanted. She was honest about what certain suggestions might do, while also being really encouraging and building off my original vision. The previous salon I went to in Portland charged me $90 for a haircut, and it had bounce decor. I appreciated having a queer hairstylist, but felt a bit worries about inconveniencing her with my constant questions and suggestions. (Possibly bc I had a lot more hair to cut off and my appointment was an hour before closing). This experience felt so much better!! I paid $65 for a haircut and it comes with two weeks free of minor adjustments. This made me feel a lot better about paying anything over $30. Lila's haircut was a work of art and I appreciate that I felt safe as a trans masc person there. I def recommend Lila for LGBTQIA+ clients looking for a hair stylist that willing to have a conversation about your vision. Def a safe space!! Did I mention they have good water pressure too. Will be bringing my gf back for her haircut

This review is for Nichole. I have been going to her for over two years and have referred clients…read moreto her. She helped me grow out a pixie and her haircuts have been great until yesterday. When I sat in her chair, she commented how great my hair looked grown out. I said I wanted to continue to grow it out and she firmed stated "no." Then I said I wanted the hairstyle more blunt where the back is not shorter than the front and another "no." Finally I showed her a photo with cute bangs and a third "no" so all things I communicated I wanted in my hairstyle were dismissed. She stacked the back after communicating to her I how much I dislike this. The side are choppy with uneven layers. (see photos). While I appreciate Nichole's strong personality and opinions, at the end of the day I am the client paying for the service. Not once did she apologize or show concern in our text messages. She refunded the cut but it will be a year before it grows back to the length I had before this unfortunate incident.
