Stacey was able to make an appointment the next day; I had to reschedule it a few days later but she was super accommodating and chill about it. Awesome. After navigating the one-way streets to find the parking lot (note: enter the lot from Jefferson street), I found the cool house that housed the salon. I walked in and only waited a few moments before Stacey was ready for my appointment. Honestly, I have been wanting to cut and dye my hair for a couple months, but choose just to get it cut for now due to my tight budget. Stacey let me do what I want but also offered feedback/opinion when asked. I decided to cut most of my long hair off into a medium/long angled bob. An hour later, my hair was washed, cut, dried, and styled. It looked great! It wasn't the exact cut in the photo I used as an example (because the photo had different color/hairstyle), but we all know that no one gets the exact cut as a photo. I was still happy with it. And $40 was affordable enough for me for a good haircut (no more GreatClips)! A few days later, I sort of regretted cutting off as much hair as I did (it took a few years to grow it long), but that's just my own fault. Hair grows. So it's all good. And next time I'll get my hair dyed. I also loved that Artique had some friendly, chill ladies working there, with a nonjudgmental atmosphere. Definitely mind kind of vibe. Made an appointment for my birthday at 9:30am. I arrived at 9:25am. She was not there yet. No problem k was a few minutes early.... At 9:38 she walks in with her young child and proceeds to ask me if I've had extensions before.... I say I'm not here for extensions and she says oh yea you are going blonde. Instead of agreeing to shape it up and putting me on the schedule, she took it as a personal attack and tried to gaslight me into think the cut is exactly what I wanted. What had really happened is that she overlapped clients on her schedule and was distracted when she cut my hair. And that happened because she neglected to honor appointments on the salon's calendar when a stylist left for another salon, not even contacting me to reschedule in the first place. I usually get a gel manicure over acrylic and I will have to say there gel manicure colors to choose from are better than most in georgetown but after they applied the color almost instantly it looked dull down just as if I got regular polish. I am livid, because I was robbed of $10 at a place of business. It is not acceptable, but there's more. The man doing her nails was apparently pretty rough, because she now has a spot that was apparently cut on her thumb just below the cuticle. It is red and swollen, and that is not ok.
