It wasn't difficult to find this location physically, but parking was extremely difficult to find. That could've been due to normal use or just the fact we had about 100 people attending the banquet hall area at the same time. After circling the hall 2-3 times, I opted to park, on a nearby street and walk to the hall. The banquet hall is not on the first floor and expect to take the stairs. My father who attended has difficulty walking without a cane, so the stairs were a little concerning. But we made it to our area without much trouble. Ideally though there could be an elevator for weekend use, if there is one available. The banquet hall is an older area probably build in the 70s or 80s, and was very spacious and easily accommodated all of the guests. If I had to guess, I'd say the hall comfortably seats 200+ guests. We also had a buffet line, where guests were happily served with a smaller area for drinks. The bar was also open in the back room, which some guests took part in.

It has floor-to-ceiling glass windows/walls that provide great views of the bay and blue sky above. Our guest list was pretty small, so we had tons of extra room, but the set-up staff made it work really well, filling the space with extra bar tables and couches with coffee tables to provide a variety of areas for mingling and lounging. Between the patio, the main dining area, the dance floor, and the bar/lounge areas, our guests had tons of space and options, and they used it all. We had our ceremony here, too. The fountain provided a very nice backdrop, and the balcony allowed our photographer to get some neat shots of the ceremony and all our guests from above. We were lucky to have pretty much perfect weather on our big day, and our guests couldn't stop talking about the view. They loved taking pictures on the patio with the bay and blue sky behind them. Both prior to and on the big day, Allison was great to work with. She was easily accessible via email, quickly answered any and all questions, and was very friendly and accommodating. On the day itself, the setup and catering/bar staff members were great, too. They were efficient, friendly, and helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, both at the tasting and on the wedding day. Many of our guests shared how much they enjoyed the meal - especially the ice cream sundae bar! On the booze front, we provided the alcohol and mixers for the bar, which likely saved a lot of money; the corkage fees were very reasonable and the bar staff were friendly and kept the drinks flowing. Overall, CSM and Pacific Dining were a great choice for us. Having our wedding at a college felt a little unorthodox at first, but it suited us so well. The space was excellent, the rates were very reasonable, the food was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous day, and if we had to do it over again, we wouldn't change a thing.

My sister and I rented the Lake Merced Boathouse for our mother's celebration of life. I had been…read morethere several times before for events and a family member's engagement party. I think it is Park & Rec's nicest event space. The best part about this venue is the view of the lake, second - the ample parking and ease of getting in and out of the area. There is one large room for rent and an adjacent room that can be added for extra space. We rented both spaces and it was pretty affordable. With the cost of the rental, you get to use the tables and chairs. However, you are also responsible for your own set up and take down of everything at your event. So if you don't have a set up crew, you will need one. Make sure to allow extra time on your rental for this. In addition to the two rooms, there is an entrance hall that we set up with photos, flowers and sign in table. There are men's and women's restrooms and a catering kitchen with fridge, freezer, sink and ice maker. There are no ovens, microwaves or any heating appliances available. There is no wifi available, bring your own hot spot if needed. That being said, it was a beautiful event and on a sunny day, the sun glistens off the lake in a golden hue and just sets the scene for any event.

They are also quick to respond. Their team helped set up the tables and chairs as our requested layout. The only downside is that it can get pretty warm inside with fans so we kept all windows and doors open to welcome Burlingame's natural breeze for additional airflow. Guests had a great time and were enjoying the venue. Clean up was also easy just leave it the way we found it!

But let me tell you that it is all worth it, plus it was for my daughter. I would definitely rent this place again for another big event.
