Saw that they were running a promotion decided to check them out. I was greeted at the door offered water, coffee or soda. My stylist, Kenzie was at the ready for me upon my arrival at the scheduled time, she listened to exactly what I was looking for (I brought in a picture of David Beckham so she knew exactly what I hoped to leave the salon looking like, lol) and she got right to it. The results were great and she was pleasant to chat with while I got my hair did. I was charged half of what I was quoted over the phone and left her a 20% tip. I absolutely recommend their services over many other places to include that big, brand name salon in the area that I think way overcharges. IMHO. I would highly recommend Studio 150. Everyone I've worked with has been so professional and friendly. It's the only place I've gone where they stand by their 100% satisfaction guarantee--and don't even make you feel bad for taking them up on it. I've been going here for a couple years and my stylist had moved so I tried someone else, and wasn't loving the end result, but I had to leave for another appointment so she couldn't fix it. They insisted that I not pay and also that I return to make it right--and that also was free. The owner and her stylists are true class acts. They go above and beyond to make your time spent relaxing and also well-worth your $$$. They don't work in other clients while your hair processes (which enables me to get in and out in a timely manner) which I also really appreciate. I love how clean and open the salon is-- they make sure it's well ventilated so you don't notice any strong smells. I really can't say enough great things about this place and will enjoy going there for years to come. So I give this place a 5 star review since I've always had a great experience, and the one time it wasn't fantastic-- they made it right. Did my wedding hairstyle here! I set up a time, but a few weeks before my wedding they called to tell me that the lady who was supposed to do my hair had moved and that they had only a few slots left in the afternoon that day. I told them that didn't work, and they somehow found someone to do my hair when it worked for me. Awesome! They do a free consultation; I came in and BB (I don't think that's how you spell it...) was very friendly and helpful. I have heavy waist-length hair, and on my wedding day she arranged it just how I wanted and it didn't look sticky, which is really hard to do with my hair. I was really nervous on my wedding day morning, but BB's friendliness was really calming! And it cost only $70! Totally recommend this place! read more

He was very cool and did a great job at 1) finding out what I wanted/needed 2) actually doing a great job at the color 3) being a genuinely nice person. I have been going to Acacia at Studio 150, for almost 6 years now. I had been doing at home hair color for 12 years, and decided to splurge a little. It took one appt, and I was addicted - to Acacia. Her expertise and sense of fun is exactly what I and my hair were looking for. She's taken me thru almost every shade of red, and I love that she understands and supports my adventures with my hair. So I went in for a balayage touch up... Saige Jacobs did the middle of my head all the way around and I thought she would go much lower and blend much better into the base of my hair....she put in a braid so I couldn't see the bottom of my hair til I got home that night. I pulled the braid out and what she had done looked amazing except she missed several inches of blending to the base...so it goes dark into balayage highlights and then orangey! So I called to ask for a couple blending highlights to make it all match and sarge wants to charge me for another balayage! What the heck! read more

HUGE disapointment from a supposedly upscale salon. First impression was I, the new customer, had to wait while the stylist worked on each other. I felt so belittled throughout the appointment. The stylist would not show me swatches of color examples, no patient, no communication throughout the coloring & cut process. Then passed me on to the Facial (or nail) person to blow dry my hair because another client arrived. Very unprofessional. I will never return. read more

Wow, it's amazing to see the division among the reviews. Either love it or think it's terrible. Here's my review - leave it. Over the years, I've learned there are three kinds of stylists - those who don't know what they're doing, those who think they do and also think they know best, and then the best, those who listen. I've had the second who just took some crazy notion about what she thought would look good and went ahead and did it and didn't think to ask me or talk with me about it. My friend thought she was fabulous - I know she's a disaster. I'm not thinking anything radical...ha! Then I just had the second combined with the first - and the disaster was averted only because I said "stop!" When you go - whether to Studio 150 or elsewhere - think about the three kinds of stylists - and if you prefer the third kind, show 'em what you want, tell them how to do the cut because you've had it done that way elsewhere, and then observe/keep on top of what's going on. (I said use thinning shears to reduce the bulk. First thing, I hear the snip of scissors...duh!) If you don't care or are the trusting/put your faith (fate) in someone else's hands, then Cindy's just perfect for you.... read more

I am really frustrated. I asked and specify the stylist to please just trim it, because I want my hair long. She cut it as short as it has ever been. My hair is curly and takes so long to grow. I am really upset. I explained that I won't be able to iron it, because I just had a hand surgery yesterday. And is so frustrating , because there is nothing I can do. I explained that it wouldn't bd flattering for my face shape , etc. I have been going there for 2 years, my old stylist from studio 150 quit and Cindy, was the one that did it this time, the previous time Also, but didn't cut so much that time. I also told her that I wanted lawyers, because when she blowed dry it, look fine straight, but I always wear it curly . And she knew it. Everytime I look In the mirror I get very upset, because I can't blow dry it myself for this period of time. Because I had wrist surgery and I am in a cast. I begged her to please not to cut it too much. That I rather not cutting enough , I would come back and pay again. So frustrated!!! read more

I wanted to buy Groupon because I want to try a new place for hair color but when I called they said just come in and pay them there and it would be the same price. I wanted to get all over color and the lady said she couldn't do it unless I bleached my whole head to get the color I want. So I told her the other place I went to could do it with my natural hair color so she pretty much told me to go back to that place. She was so rude and unprofessional. If she is more knowledgable about hair, she could help customers but seemed like she didn't even care. Don't go!!!! I just moved here from San Diego and was looking for a good salon. I called this place and they quoted me a price for a cut and a color. The reason I went there was because of the price. When I went in for my appointment they quoted me $100.00 difference. I wanted to speak to the manager and the OWNER of the salon spoke with me and said it's not their fault of the price difference and that's what the price is. I disagreed with her and due to that they wouldn't do my services and kicked me out. What kind of place does that??!! I recommend you not ever going there. read more

This has been the ABSOLUTE WORST, most unprofessional experience I have ever had at a Salon!! In over 25 years of going to different hair salons on the Eastside, it was a horrible experience.. Not only was the staff rude and unprofessional but Saige the girl that was going to do my hair had a real bad attitude. First of all I called 3 times in a week before my call was returned to make an appointment. I was recommended to see Saige for a foil by a friend, and even gave her 3 referrals before my appointment, so you think she would be thankful and at least cordial! { My daughter went there previously with the same 20% coupon and called me in tears saying that they told her it was off only one service, not a haircut and a foil. I called and asked them what the deal was as the coupon never said just one service! She only had money given to her for the 20% for both but not a full price and one 20% off. Since I was coming from Bellevue to Kirkland after work, and my appointment was at 6:00, I stopped by an establishment nearby for an early dinner. I had a glass of wine with dinner, then came to my appointment about 10 mins late. I called and told them I was on my way, and was sorry I was running a little late. We all know how unpredictable traffic is from Bellevue. When I got there they told me to have a seat. I waited for almost 30 mins. before Saige seated me. She had an attitude right away as I told them I had a 20% off your service coupon.She then tried to tell me it was just off the initial service of a foil but they charged additional for "long Hair" and for a toner which I didnt even want. I dont understand why they charge you for long hair when she is just foiling the 1/2 inch grow out! Does that make any sense? I had never had a Salon tell me there would be an addtional charge for hair slightly past your shoulder. She then went into the back and was gone for nearly 25 mins! My appointment was at 6:00 and now it was past 7:00 PM! She came back and said that she would not guarantee my service, if I didnt get the toner! really! I felt like I was being bullied into it!!! I told her that I didnt want the toner because there were several times previosuly at other Salons, that the toner did not work on my hair, that it always made my hair darker no matter where I had it done when I was talked into it! then I would have to spend the time and go back and have them add more highlights! I have been getting foiled for nealry 25 years and I didnt want one, and refused it. I told her I was fine with the long hair charge in addition, but wondered why they dont just place that into the price and give people with short hair a discount! Anyway, she acted like she was doing me this big favor doing my hair! I tried to make conversation but she had such a bad attitude it made me afraid she was going to do something really bad to my hair and who wants to feel like that sitting in a chair with some one you are supposed to trust. Luckily my hair turned out pretty good so I left her a 20% tip. PEOPLE This gets better! I call to make another appointment with her about two months ago, and the girl at the front desk acted strange after I made the appointment. She put me on hold for 5 mins and came back and said she was sorry but Saige was booked the entire week, and if i wanted to schedule with someone else. I said no, so I made an appointment at Sorella in Issaquah instead, and they were very professional and my haircolorist did an amazing job. Since I have moved it was much more convenient to go to Kirkland though, instead of Issaquah. Two months later, today I make an appointment with Saige. I get a call back from Cindy the mananger about 7 hours later telling me that the "High and Mighty Saige" refuses to do my hair! Really? I asked why, and she told me because they thought I was possibly intoxicated and I threw my phone down on the counter. I said you have got to be kidding me! One, I was NOT intoxicated I had 1 glass of wine, and two I probably threw my phone on the counter when it took them nearly and hour to start my hair! Are these people the Alanon police, and you cant have a drink before you get hair styled?? Really? I mean come on! No one was really around when this Saige was rude with her high and mighty attitude, She may be ok at hair, but horrible in the personality dept. In fact she had a personality of a worn out dish rag... The absolute rudest hairstylist I have ever come across, I wish now I didnt give her a tip as she didnt deserve it! I couldnt be happier to never go back there again! I highly recommend that you dont go to this establishment in Kirkland, if you want to be treated with any respect, as there are so many other great places to get your hair styled or cut! These ladies think that they can be rude and unprofessional, well you cant be this way when you are in the service industry. What happened to the customer is always right? Rip Off!!! I went there twice. The first time the girl asked a lot of questions and gave me exactly what I wanted so I didn't mind paying the $150+ for a full foil with toner. Two months later I made an appointment with her again and this time she did my hair in less than an hour, charged me as much as the first time even though I got a partial foil and said next time it will cost even more because she had to do so many packets. I walked out of there looking exactly the way I came in (with 1/2 an inch of grow out) and a bit irritated. I also recommended this place to two friends before i had bad service and they ended up getting over charged as well. One because "she has thick hair and its difficult to work with" and the other because "she had to use a lot of packets". They also try to convince you to get a deep conditioning treatment at the sink without telling you that its an extra service. I think they should be upfront with their pricing methods and not throw in extra charges at the end. read more

Very, very expensive for the quality of work done. Shuffled from one person to another for shampoos, prep, color is applied by the stylist you booked with, but it comes out a different color every single time. The products used on your hair will be whatever they are promoting at the time...pushed products hard when they were trying to get to NY for training from that company. Cut quality is horrific for such a large price point. Will say that other clients being styled at the same time appeared be getting very nice styles and they weren't being treated assembly-line style. If you decide to go there, just avoid getting scheduled with the owner. Her diva routine is insulting to the clients, and her staff. I've only been there twice, so perhaps I'm being too harsh. Wasn't going to even review them but having gone elsewhere now for several months I know how big a waste of time and money it was going here at all. read more

Came to get my hair colored/cut at the salon first time last month.. It was great and all. Next days , i was browsing their site just to see their work and I saw an advertisement on their website that says "30% off first time color and cut " I then called the salon to see if they would honor that, and they said no because apparently I had to ask for the discount myself !!! Who the heck does that!?!! There's no sign anywhere in the store that says you'd get the 30% off ... You need to go to the site and look for it yourself.. But let's be honest, people are busy, they don't have the time to go hunt for deals especially if they don't know about it... And if it really is a "special", then you shouldn't be hiding it from the customers!!!! And let's face it, the cost of going into that salon to get your hair done isn't cheap !!!! Come on, we don't have time to do that!!! To me, it's got the word "greedy" written all over! I would never go back again... My experience here was probably one of the worst haircut experiences I've had in a while. My last hair stylist moved locations, so one of my friends recommended Studio 150 and I couldn't be more unhappy with the result. When I first got there no one greeted me. I waited about 5 minutes until someone finally came to say hi and told me they would get me a beverage but then never did. I love my long hair and just wanted a trim to clean up the ends. I was clear that I wanted no more than 2 inches cut off. In my opinion, a good hair stylist is someone who listens to what their clients want. Pam definitely did not do this. She was over confident and cocky in what she was doing and what I wanted. Without my knowledge or even asking, she cut off a 5 inch section of hair because it was all dead. I was completely aware that I didn't have the healthiest hair, but I was also clear in what I wanted. The haircut was $55 and I paid $60 cash. I was going to give her the $5 extra as a tip anyway but she didn't even give me my change back. She just said "have a nice day." The people here seem to be too confident in what they're doing and are not focused enough on what their clients want. I would not recommend Pam. Maybe someone else could do a better job. read more
