Showed up on Sunday morning at 11am and was told the pool was closed, despite 8am - 8pm signs being posted on and around it. We asked to play basketball, but they said the courts were closed for renovations, and will be open tomorrow. The basketball courts look fine, and there are no workers working on it, meaning it's fine to play right now. They then told us we couldn't use the weight room because we aren't wearing closed toed shoes. When we asked what else we could do, they said there is nothing else open. That would have been nice to know before I spent $10 on a guest pass. Poor service and arbitrary rules. 1 star review for lack of professionalism, lack of amenities, and false advertising on the pool hours & basketball courts. read more

I miss this facility so much. It was the best gym I ever went to and it's awesome that this was what CSUF had to offer. Even better, the costs are part of the tuition so you might as well use it. I was pretty sad after graduating, knowing I wouldn't be able to come here anymore. I probably could if I lived a lot closer... paying some fees they've got, but I don't know if I'd want to pay for parking and all that each time I go. The student rec center definitely had more amenities than the 24 Hour Fitness locations I've been to. There's an indoor track (which I used often), a little cardio room (where I used to go to use the rowing machines and stair climbers away from everyone lol)... huge basketball courts, etc. The locker rooms were very nice and clean as well. I took several Zumba classes here during my last year at CSUF and they were awesome. I always attended the Sunday class.. and a good thing about coming here on the weekends is... it's totally empty as opposed to during the week. I'd really like to come back one day! I go here about 3 times a week when I'm on campus and get a workout between classes. I gave it a high review before, but now it's changed. Pros: has great equipment, large track on top of the basketball courts, rooms for yoga, mixed martial arts, biking, and much more! There is a fridge full of food and drinks. The students working here are fun and friendly. Cons: Missing bars for the benches. You will see students taking bench bars and using it for incline or for the squat station. Another BIG con is the there are flies in the men's showers I'm not sure about the women's side haven't seen any reviews or complaints about it. Every time I go to take a shower there are tons of bugs lined on the ceiling in every shower stall. DISGUSTING! We do have people who clean the shower stalls, but they focus on the floors. Look up there are colonies growing. read more

This gym is beautiful with top of the line equipment. It has large locker rooms with built in locks, 3 basketball, 3 volleyball or 9 badminton courts with scoreboards, a Weight Training Area, a Cardio Fitness Room and studio, a track that is 1/9th of a mile, Multiple Group Class Rooms, racquetball courts, a spin room, a rock climbing wall and an outdoor pool. The best part about it? It's completely free if you attend Cal State Fullerton. There are small fees for during intersessions if you are not taking classes, but its definitely worth it considering other gym prices. Also, it's still relatively new, so there isn't much wear. Overall, I suggest at least trying it out because it is FREE!! Also, you can get your spouse or live in partner to join with you for $80 a semester (relatively $20 a month). read more

This is the gym located inside Cal State Fullerton. I come here a lot to play basketball and do some light, very light work out. My main thing here is definitely basketball. There are two courts. The courts are really nice. They have leagues and tournaments and I have been in a few. There was one instance where I "accidentally" stuck my foot one a shooter and injured his ankle. This gym is beyond amazing! I attended CSUF when they began building this center & was fortunate enough to use it for one school year once completed. I've since graduated and moved to LA but miss the SRC so much! So modern, clean & up to the times. Did someone say an indoor track thats rounds about the gym above?! The classes were pretty awesome too, and loved how they were open on the weekends. I often frequented spin classes after class and on Saturday mornings. Love that they provide towels as well. They turned down the A/C in the weight room bc people (lazy girls) complained it was too cold. The weight room was super musty and warm like a tropical climate infused with sweat. I went Wednesday night and now it's Friday and I just so happened to wake up with a sinus infection. Hmmm could it be the added moisture, improper ventilation, and warmth that allowed a pathogenic virus to travel airborne? Most likely. For jeopardizing my health, wellness and fun over the weekend I say, "Fuck you, you lazy gluttonous pig who thinks the world needs to cater to your every desire. May success avoid you like the entitled clueless brat you are. The only dime you deserve is the inheritance you'll get from the death of your parents." Wear warmer gear asshole. read more

For years I was spoiled by the UCI gym. It was gorgeous, had a ton of equipment and space, and an olympic sized pool outisde. I didn't take advantage of it at the time, and it wasn't until after I graduated that I realized how good I had it. Then, for the next few year I was... what's the opposite of spoiled? (okay, thesaurus.com is telling me "unspoiled." thanks...) Anyway, for the next few years I only worked out at various 24hr fitness centers in the area, and yeah, I guess I had forgotten what a nice gym was like. Until I came here. This place boasts pretty much everything you could ask for in a gym - A pool, basketball courts, a large weight room, free towels, plenty of equipment in good shape, free lockers with electronic locks, and a *clean* bathroom. And their weight room uses round plates instead of hex plates - that's just a personal preference of mine, but I've heard other people prefer them to hex plates too, so that's something. The squat rack here is so nice. It has rungs for all of the weights up and down the sides so I don't have to bend down for every single weight (pretty nice for a tall people) and various pullup/chinup grips on top so you can make use of your rest time between sets. Even the Smith machine is dual purpose here - on the opposite side of the frame you can put up bar holders to do regular squats or overhead press or whatever your swole heart desires. This place almost makes me wish I had more classes this semester - I commute so I'm not on campus very often. Oh well, at least I have Monday and Wednesday nights! read more

The mothaaa fuckin holy grail of all gyms!! I never thought i could ever love being at the gym so much before i came here. Every treadmill has its own lil tv w cable AND a fan! Even the outdoor pool has a dayclub-y feel with its plush lounging couches and cushioned layout chairs. Those two things alone make this more awesome than 90% of all gyms. On top of that, you don't have to bring your own locks for lockers and can rent pool/shower towels. The locker room is soooo clean and huge...lots and lots of mirrors. I love showering and getting ready there more than at my own home. Also, theres no old creepy weirdos that you have to deal with at the local 24 fitness...mostly students go here. Seriously, the only upside to being fat is that i get to go to this gym yayy. read more

I am fortunate enough to have the SRC. When my aunt attended CSUF, construction just began so she didn't get the chance to use the gym. However when I started attending CSUF (2010), the gym was open. Cost is already included in your tuition so you might as well use it. If it's your first time using the gym, you'll have to go upstairs and register and sign a waiver just stating that you understand the risks of exercising and whatnot. After that's done, you go back downstairs. To enter, you'll have to enter your Campus Wide ID (CWID, which is a 9 digit number), and scan your right hand which basically identifies you and ultimately, grants you access. The facility is very clean and well-maintained. There is always someone nearby if you have any questions, need towels, or want to request items such as belts, squat pads, etc. The weight room is always packed with boys, but don't let that intimidate you. Upstairs, you'll find machines dedicated for cardio, free-weights, and an indoor track. The indoor track encompasses the courts just below. Next to the weights room are private rooms where you can practice various of activities such as dance, boxing, etc. The changing room has lockers you can use. I just went in not too long ago and they changed the locking system, which is nice since I know the system they used prior had some problems. You basically choose your own 3 digit code, code the door and turn the lock. Scramble the code before you leave so others can't open your locker. Inside the changing room are restrooms and showers. Just outside is a pool and dock. There is a lifeguard on watch at all times, so feel free to take a dip when it's hot out. read more

Who needs a gym membership somewhere else when you've got FREE use of all these exercise machines, sporting courts, a pool, and a rock wall? It's a pretty wonderful facility. Your access code is your hand print (which you set with the workers there) and campus wide ID. Fees to bring non-student friends and family are pretty reasonable. Shamefully, I haven't used the facility much, but it felt great doing an hour in the Cardio Room between classes. read more

CSUF students - "Free" to join. Non-CSUF students - $5/day. You access the place with a hand scan with the pin of your campus wide id. Two story. Here's what this place is equipped with: indoor rock climbing wall, indoor track (9 laps = 1 mile), basketball/volleyball/badminton court, swimming pool, cardio room, weight room, lockers and showers. It's pretty clean. They lend out towels if you need. You don't have to bring a lock, but you can. They have digital lockers! I love this place. They blast it with A/C as well. Why not take advantage of this place, since you already paid for it in your student fees? read more

Yes I love this Gym, I wish I would of used this earlier in my educational career. Now I am on my last session of CSUF, I come here almost everyday. I do my usual an hour weight and an hour cardio. Usually I would play Basketball or try to get on the StairMaster. Free daily locker. Equipped with everything most high-end fitness centers provides. The pool might be a little small but there is always a life guard ans it is clean. Track on the 2nd floor the circles around the basketball court. Few little downsides, they don't fix the machines quick enough. Right now they only have one StairMaster while the other 2 are down. Also I really wish they would close a bit later, normally they close at 12. I want to workout a bit more when I get out of my class at 10. read more

Really nice facilities! I signed in as a guest (a student brought me in), and paid $5 to use the facilities until closing (which is midnight). I parked at the parking deck literally next door to the SRC. $2 for an hour, the parking deck is very well lit and I felt extremely safe. Also helps that there were tons of other students in the parking deck and around the SRC. Facilities include: three basketball courts (though call ahead to see if there's anything scheduled on those courts), weights (free and machine), tons of cardio equipment, and an I door track. I mainly wanted to shoot around (basketball) because I'm just in town for a few days. There were three full length courts, one of which was being used for indoor volleyball. Two of the courts had full court pick up games, so I could onLy shoot around when the game was on the other side of the court. All this to say that it gets pretty busy in there with only three courts! But the courts itself were really nice. Smooth non dusty wood floors, it's air conditioned, and plenty of bench seating for you to put your bags down on, plenty of space between each court so easy to walk through etc. Second floor was cardio and a small track. The cardio equipment was great & plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc. you don't have to sign up or anything to use the equipment, so that was nice. My treadmill had a tv, so i could easily watch whatever I wanted and could control my own tv. No more sharing tv stations with other cardio goers! It was also very clean and I liked the organized layout of the cardio equipment. There was a small stretching or "do your own thing" area that was nice. Had full length mirrors and lots of floor mats to use. Comfortable for maybe 10-12 people. The women's locker room was big, lots of lockers, lots of seating areas and designed in a way to give you privacy. And it was clean! This was a great facility and a steal for only $5 day pass. As comparison, 24 hour fitness, which also has an indoor basketball court, has a $25 day pass...! read more

Having worked at this facility for a number of years, I can tell you that you won't find a finer establishment anywhere else! The daily lockers are free-of-charge, there are up to 40 hours a week of drop-in and instructional courses to take, an indoor track, friendly staff, and a group of professional team members committed to raising the bar year after year. The facility contains a fully-stocked weight training room, a generous number of cardio machines on the second floor, Spin room, racquetball courts, martial arts/multipurpose rooms, 3 full length basketball courts, and so much more. Also, good luck finding a cleaner facility than the SRC. Cleanliness is a top priority there, and you can't go a single hour during the day where someone isn't detailing a piece of equipment, cleaning workout towels for your use, or sanitizing the door handles or showers. My only complaint is that many students do not contribute in doing THEIR part. If you borrow a workout towel, drop it off at one of the assigned bins. If you rent any piece of equipment, bring it back. Clean up after yourselves for crying out loud! This is college - the student staff should be assisting you, not cleaning your mess and turning into babysitters. Take some responsibility and show pride in YOUR Rec Center. read more

I went to a 24 Fitness before and it is nothing compared to the Student Rec Center, seriously. I hated 24. Facility is equipped with: indoor track (9 laps = 1 mile) basketball/ volleyball/ badmitten courts cardio room (two) weight room pool locker room and showers couches and sofas dance studios martial art studio conference room rock wall Two-story facility and fully equipped with many useful work out equipments for students, staff, and guests. Free work out towels available. If you want to shower, there is a daily rate $1 for shower towels, if you want a larger one, there's the pool towels. Staff is helpful and friendly to all guests. M-TH: 6 AM -11 PM F: 6 - 8 PM Sat: 11 AM - 6 PM Sun: 11 AM - 11 PM There are drop-in fitness classes, schedules are available at the front desk! Instructors are legit and certified. So are the personal trainers. It's always clean, which I love! Does not smell like any body odor or anything considering it is a gym. If it's dirty there are supplies available for students to use to clean it themselves. SRC is exclusive, so it would suck for you if you are not associated with CSUF whatsoever. TV screens on machines and a large screen in the cardio room. Super awesome. read more

There are 3 basketball courts, though one is usually reserved for volleyball or tennis and a track that circles overhead. I usually just stick to the cardio weight room but there's also a pool, rock wall and 2 racquetball rooms that I have yet to make use of. The Titan Recreation Center is overall a gym that makes me want to put in work! it has just about everything you need. I prefer to use the Cardio room for that part of a workout. It is VERY clean! I have been to LA fitness and In-Shape City and thought those could have been better in that area. This gym is the best, take advantage of your student fees at work!! The rock wall is fun (and your first time is free), the pool is a perfect temperature, and the gym itself is really clean. I would always see the ladies cleaning out the locker rooms when I would workout (thank you). I only have 2 complaints. 1) it gets PACKED during the day and at night but with a huge student population, what can you expect? 2) the machines seem to break down often, but probably because they're being used all the time. However, they are always fixed ASAP. The fitness classes are also a lot of fun to attend. :) Best "free" gym membership you could have. read more

The SRC is fairly decent, although I've never used other facilities before. Most of the equipment is fairly new, but sometimes there are machines out of order - which makes sense due to the high volume of students that pass through. All the cardio machines on the top floor have TVs to watch while you work out, but recently they only offer network channels instead of network and cable channels that they used to offer. For cable - workout inside the cardio room on the second level, the lights are always off so it is very relaxing. The pool area is nice to lounge at and wade, rather than swim though due to the limited number of lanes available to do laps. Overall, if you're a student at CSUF - just use the facilities since its included in your tuition and it gets the job done. But if you're picky, go to a different gym. read more

This gym is beautiful. It has two levels filled with machines/weights/activities gallore. I cancelled my 3 year membership with LA fitness just because I decided I'd rather come here. What's neat is that they give you freshly washed towels which means you don't have to bring you're not required to bring your own. (ahem ahem La Fitness) They have showers available although I suggest bringing flip flops to shower in. Admission is free for students and if you want to bring a visitor it is $5 which I find a total bargain. I do have to say however that the service blows. The attendee's are terribly rude and that's including the upstairs and downstairs service. I went upstairs today to have my hand rescanned and had to wait while 3 attendees chit chatted and laughed about who knows what. There were three of them that saw me and made no effort to help me until they were don't laughing and talking. Really unprofessional. Other than that, I really enjoy coming here. read more

1 month until graduation and I just visited the gym for the first time. I couldn't believe how much I missed out when I went around the gym. They have so much to offer -even more than my local 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport gym. Rock climbing, multiple basketball and volleyball courts, a track, cycle room, racquetball court, boxing area, weight training area, cardio area, room for classes, pool... there's seriously so much to offer. Cool things I really liked about the gym were the TVs on the cardio machines and track over the courts, which is a rare but cool thing to have when working out. Overall, this gym is pretty awesome - kind of sad that I didn't take advantage while I was still a student but glad to have snuck in a few workout sessions prior to graduating. I come to the student recreational center often but this one time I came in I was having a difficult time getting in. The front desk employee, who was really rude, let me know that there was a problem scanning my hand so she sent me to the upstairs membership desk. The tall girl with blonde hair was very helpful and kind with me that I was no longer annoyed with the situation. This a very nice gym. I did undergrad at SDSU, and they charged 20 dollars a month for students. This gym has newer equipment and is bigger than SDSU, and it's FREE for students. They have a wide range of equipment here, but it gets crowded at times. The bottom floor consists of weights, dance rooms, two basketball courts and a court dedicated to badminton/volleyball. The upstairs has three racquetball courts, and treadmills. When you walk in, there is an impressive rock climbing wall which is pretty neat. The locker rooms are very clean and incorporates a lot of technology. read more

Every year i come back to this gym and there is always an issue registering their out of date hand scanners. Got there at 6:15 today for a 630 yoga make up class and they tell me at 6:50 they cant let me in. Im a student who will most likely fail my yoga class. Why employee students who can not fulfill this simple job. Just let me in for the one or 2 times a year i come anyways. read more
