Additionally, there are no restrooms - so while you're lost trying to find books, following incorrect labeling, and navigating the otherwise chaotic disorderliness, you can rest assured that they will be unaccommodating. I recently took my family here, and as we were compiling a stack of books worth a couple of hundred dollars (we're working to stock our home library built-in shelves), our toddler son needed to use the restroom. We asked if he could use theirs, and they said no. Rather than spending my money with them, I left my stack of books where they were and took my son to the restroom at Barnes & Noble, where I continued my book shopping. As for the bulk of used books I need, I can obtain them via Amazon and AbeBooks, and don't have to support a rude local business that is unhelpful and falls short of providing a quality experience. Why shop local when you can shop at the giants who care about their customers? I will never return.

Sometimes when I go in, an employee never acknowledges me (not that I'm expecting them to follow me around and be my personal shopper, but at least being greeted and filled in on sales would be nice). I also wish they carried more shoes!

I walked in with my list of books, and must have had a confused look on my face, as a gentleman came over and asked if I needed any help. I said yes, and he immediately took my list and led me around. I was expecting one of my books to be only available as a new book and was pleasantly surprised to see that they carried it used. It saved me roughly half of what I was expecting to pay. He even took the time to find me a copy of the book that was not so "used" looking. The other book I needed was found just as quickly. When we had found all the materials needed, the gentleman wished me a good day. Looking over all the "spirit items" in the store, I was impressed with how much stuff you could buy to show your pride. I admit, I had to get a t-shirt. With me living in Kansas City, I'm always proud to wear things from my hometown. Check-out was a breeze. I'm expecting financial aid for this year, and with this being the first time I've ever had to use it, I was elated to find out that I could defer the payment for my books until my aid was put into my account. Start to finish, the process took less than 10 minutes, and I was in and out. Everyone I encountered was so pleasant to deal with, and I left in a better mood that when I went in.

I've been a loyal customer of Maxon Jewelers for more than a decade, and under Rick and Jane's…read moreownership it was always a fantastic place to shop. They consistently delivered exceptional service and were able to source hard-to-find pieces--even models like the Daytona. During my visit this past weekend, however, the experience was completely different. I was surprised (in a good way) to find a consigned watch (AP RO) that matched exactly what I had been shopping for. Unfortunately, the manager had very little information about the watch (ie: original papers, etc). After waiting around for quite a while, I realized he was busy on the computer finalizing another transaction instead of helping me. I eventually left my contact information and walked out. The manager never followed up. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I won't be returning.

From the moment we walked in, they made my husband and me feel welcomed, valued, and completely at ease during such a meaningful purchase. Buying new rings is a big and emotional decision, and they both went far above and beyond to make it special for us. Jeremiah was so knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain options without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. Olivia brought such warmth and genuine care to the experience--she really listened to what we wanted and helped us find something that felt perfect for our story. What stood out the most was how personal they made everything. It didn't feel like just a sale--it felt like they were truly invested in helping us find rings that represented our marriage and journey. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made the entire experience memorable in the best way. We walked away not only with beautiful rings, but with full hearts and gratitude for the way we were treated. Jeremiah and Olivia are a true asset to Helzberg, and because of them, we will absolutely be returning and recommending this store to others. Thank you so much!!!!
