I wasn't "butchered" by Dr. Steinberg, but I didn't have the best experience either. I basically had to demand that he order an MRI for my ankle after his "treatment" was doing nothing to heal it and I was convinced that even though the X-ray showed no broken bones, there had to be SOMETHING causing the pain in my foot! After he reluctantly ordered one (do I miss Motion Picture insurance or what? I didn't pay a penny for it), it revealed a transverse fracture of my right cuboid. I left his office for greener pastures and saw a "professional" and left his podiatry doors for an orthopedic surgeon (who I should've gone to initially). Before this mishap, I had good experiences with his making me two different pairs of orthodics. They are still holding up pretty well even after a few years of use... read more

Not recommended Ingrown Toenail - Doctor is nice - Appointment availability was good - Not good quality service (had to have it done TWICE and of course was charged for it TWICE in full) - Office staff insist on putting a card on file even when declining to sign that form for it or they will charge you 5 more $s to send you a bill. - And they will always find something extra to charge your credit card for later. - I will be taking my service else where You can find better! read more

I do not at all get the negative reviews of Dr. Steinberg. I got a next day appointment for an ingrown toenail yesterday. I had read the negative reviews and was a bit worried but the Drs. office was a block from my office. The office staff could not have been nicer and more friendly. The office is clean and the exam room very comfortable. Dr. Steinberg was very friendly, and very knowledgeable about how to treat my issue. I was not impressed by Dr. Steinberg. I went to him with bunion pain and without even touching my foot he prescribed medication and told me to come back in two weeks. When I returned and said it wasn't any better, he strongly implied that I wasn't taking the medication properly(though I was) and I had to specifically ask for an X-Ray. It took another visit for him to even put his hands on me and then all he did was recommend orthotics. I found no relief of my foot pain in the 6 weeks I had been seeing him. Rather then continuing to see him, and spending several hundred dollars on orthotics, I found a DPM named Dr. Espensen who has been helping me through a bunionectomy and physical therapy. read more

Dr. Stuart Steinberg is thee best Podiatrist that I have ever been to. after YEARS of suffering from "pronation" or "flat feet" or "collapsed ankles" inherent in my type of dwarfism and being told that nothing short of SURGERY would help me (and even AFTER surgery, I'd probably be in the same situation, if not worse). Thank goodness for the Screen Actors Guild Insurance (which I have had for nearly 25 years now) - My primary Physcian recommended a "specialist" - Dr. Stuart Steinberg. Just a few minutes (literally) with Dr. Steinberg (back in 2007) after telling him of the horror stories and the PAIN that I am (was) having (at that time) He said "let's take some X-Rays" - Then he did the typical "does this hurt?" "how about this?" etc. He hit me with a couple of Cortizone injections in my ankles and BAM I was up and walking PAIN FREE for like 2 years. The PAIN came back after nearly 2 years - BAM! He hits me again with ONE Cortizone injection and says "come back in a few days and we will fix you up with some NEW orthodics" I am not going to gush or fawn all over this man like some "school girl" ... I am only going to tell the truth the way that I personally experienced it. I visited the said person do not even want to call him a doctor in 2008 but today for some reason it came into my mind to enlighten people about Stuart's true character. I do not know who gave him a doctor's license, but this SHENANIGAN sounds more like a corrupt used car salesperson who knows that the engine and transmission is busted but will sell it to you for a new one. My experience with him was this. I had flat arches and was simple in need of a pair of custom made orthotics. But he kept taping my feet, having me wear my ten year old orthotics which weren't even the right prescription. He had a great Wall Street Broker Secretary. She was very good at packing up the appointment list and just collecting the copays. His silky hair, blue eyes, extra large belly, and 5 series Bmw at the time, did portray a classic picture of a dishonest, bloodsucking butcher. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS ENTITY. read more

I was referred to Dr. Steinberg by my doctor. I had pain that I thought was bone chips turns out it was arthritis. While reviewing the x-rays with Dr. Steinberg, he was patient and thorough in answering all my questions (and I ask a lot!) He explained things clearly, never condescending and giving me clear choices. Bottom line is I'm pain free. He also a great listener. The office staff is also great and very professional. My fiance saw Dr. Steinberg for the first time in Oct 2016 (about), for an ingrown toenail. The first red flag was the front office was VERY persistent on having a credit card on file, even though he paid the $250 they said was his share of cost with his PPO insurance. I asked them if they could just send us a bill if a balance poped up, and that we were really good about paying our bills on time, but they informed us that they would charge us an additional $5 for every statement sent out to us... And that's exactly what they did later on charged the credit card an additional $28. When I called and asked them they said it was for the medication the doctor had sent us home with. We were not informed that the ointment that he was sending home with us in a ziplock bag was going to be an additional charge. So here we are now jump forward 6 months. April my fiance went back to see him because he had an ingrown toenail again this time he saw Dr. Parks and informed him that he was coming back for the same exact ingrown 6 months prior. Once again they charged him $208 at the front door and 4 days later charged him and another $18 on the credit card, but the EOB from insurance says his cost was $198... I'm currently looking into why there was a $26 overpayment. I feel like they could have done a better job the first time around with the ingrown where he would not have been going back 6 months later. I also feel that their priority is the money versus a doctor-patient relationship or anything else. We will definitely be looking for a new podiatrist for the future.... read more

I have to agree with the majority of reviews on Burbank Food Care. I was recommended to his office to see Dr Park - also by Stetson Powell. Dr Park is very nice but my experience really left a bad taste in my mouth - I understand wanting a profitable business but this was (1) When you arrive, they want you to sign something that keeps your credit card details on file in case of an "emergency" (2) Although I offered to pay at the time of service, they only took my co-pay and then sent me an invoice with a $5 billing charge (3) I had a broken big toe, previously operated on, and he gave me these massive pneumatic cast - total insurance scam - I got a second opinion and basically needed a small inexpensive shoe read more

WOW! My foot pain and problems continue since I saw Dr. Steinberg. I finally had an implant put in my right foot after taking out the bone that made my big toe spread further and further away from the other toes. Besides my one friend I have heard two others have the same problem. I never had a problem with my left foot until he made orthodics for me. They caused my foot to raise (which already had a high intep) and made it worse. I am still having issues and want to see a foot orthopedic specialist ASAP!! His attitude is not a concerned one. He didn't seem to care much when I first brought to his attention one year after my bunion removal how my big toe started moving away from the other toes. He said it could have gone either wayto the loeft or the right! What kind of answer is that? It got so bad it looked like I had one or two toes missing. I'm very happy with Dr Steinberg. I had previously went to Kaiser for treatment. In two years , they did not help my foot AT ALL. Dr Steinberg diagnosed me correctly and helped me immediately. Dr. Steinberg is okay - my son had an ingrown toenail that was bothering him to no end and Dr. Sternberg too care of the issue. The problem is his office; upon arrival you are given forms to fill out (which makes sense), however, the person handling the forms refuses to make eye contact, refuses to answer any questions, and as other reviewers mentioned wants to keep you credit card information. After dealing with the front desk, you are then left to cool your heels for better than 30 minutes, can't get an answer as to whether the doctor is running on time or not. Upon leaving and making a follow up appointment, one mentions the wait time, and the response is, "when don't you wait at a doctors office". Really? Does that fit with the age old adage of "if all the other doctors jump off a cliff you would as well?". Why is poor service acceptable? Does the office not understand that there are other DPM's in the world? That out of 10 million people in Los Angeles one might find a DPM that has an office staff that takes pride in the level of service? Like I said Dr. Sternberg is okay - however, certainly not fabulous enough to put up with the service and the snotty front desk staff. read more

I can not say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Steinberg and his staff. After years of increasing pain, I finally decided to take care of my bunion. I was a bit hesitant in scheduling another elective surgery as my first, years ago in Boston and unrelated to my feet, was most unpleasant. My first call to the friendly staff to book my appointment totally put me at ease. When I met with Dr. Steinberg, he was caring, patient and understanding and thoroughly discussed all the options. When I decided to move forward with a bunionectomy, he was meticulous in explaining the entire process - surgery through recovery. There have been no surprises through this entire process. Each post-op follow up visit has been painless, thorough and quick. I tend to arrive early and they take me right in, although the waiting room is quite comfortable. I've never written a bad Yelp review before, but I've also never gotten this bad a feeling from someone this fast. I was referred to Dr. Park (who shares on office with Dr. Steinberg) by my GP because I lost orthotics another doc made for me years ago, and wanted to get another pair. Dr. Park wasn't available for weeks, so I went with Steinberg. He was brusk, condescending, and focused almost entirely on money. He barely even looked at my feet or discussed my options, just immediately jumped into what it would cost and that I would need to pay up front because he couldn't count on my insurance paying for it. This after I was asked to fill out a form to preauthorize credit-card payments before even seeing the doctor. I absolutely understand needing to take care of oneself financially, but the almost exclusive focus on money here sent me walking out the door fast. I even tried a couple times to ask him to explain my options, what kind of orthotics he makes and why they are significantly more expensive than the ones I had before, and he answered quickly, providing very little information, and went right back to "this is what it will cost, you will need to pay up front." Just rude and unhelpful. I said no thanks, paid my copay for a useless five-minute office visit -- and, fortunately, found my trusty orthotics, for which I paid 20% of what Steinberg was asking, later that night. read more

Look no further ! This IS thee podiatrist to visit for your precious feet. Back in 1993, Dr. Steinberg modified my feet. I was water skiing in 3 weeks, and ran my first marathon 6 months later. Fast-forward to October 2008: During ballet class, I injured my Achilles tendon and sought a UCLA "sports doctor" thinking they would have all the answers. After spending a ton of money on inferior physical therapy, useless and dangerous prescription medication, and discussions of impending surgery, I finally realized that I should have seen Dr. Steinberg to begin with. He reviewed my MRI, analyzed my gait and gave me homework to avoid surgery, which included proper stretching exercises, foot taping and of course effective orthotics which improved my foot function 100%. Even 5 stars is insufficient for Dr. Steinberg and his staff. From the moment I walked in the office I knew I was in the best of hands. From the girls at the front desk, to the assistants and ultimately Dr. Steinberg... There is nowhere else. I'm not one to see the doctor but in this instance I knew it was necessary and after one visit am so incredibly grateful and thankful I did. Yes I was diagnosed and yes x rays were taken and yes the doctor did what a doctor does but Dr. Steinberg is so much more than that. It's the sense of well being he exudes, it's his demeanor and confidence that provides so much more than just a diagnosis and a cure. It's the next level of care where your mind just knows you're in the hands and care of the best! It's the peace of mind knowing that although in pain now it is temporary and whatever we need to do to get better will be done! Like another patient wrote, I've been a patient 20+ years. Dr. Steinberg has also treated my husband and our son. He's made orthotics for both my husband & me, performed hammer toe surgery on me and I will be having a bunion removed by him also. I am a walker having done several 5K's, 10K's and the Avon Breast Cancer Walk when it was a three day, 60+ mile event. NONE of those things would have possible without Dr. Steinberg's care. Both he & his staff are professional and his treatment has always taken care of my issues. Been having pain in the outside part of my left foot for a number of years. Not one to readily seek medical attention for anything...I finally got a reference from the Toulca Lake Medical Center to visit podiatrist, Dr. Stuart Steinberg. After scrutinizing x-rays of my foot, he explained the problem and gave me my options: surgery, steroids or...the use of a carefully designed, orthodic device. Not one for using anything more intrusive than say, a bandaid, I chose the orthodic. I have now been wearing the thing for about a month and the problem is gone. I'm still a little amazed that by just making an adjustment to the surface that my foot sits on in my shoe, that my foot can finally stop being irritated and inflamed. Dang. Feel kinda foolish for not visiting the good Dr. sooner. read more

This man almost left me wheelchair bound for the rest of my life due to his lack of knowledge as well as his inability to admit when he makes a major medical mistake. He could have taken the necessary steps to prevent further damage, but failed to even do that. His motto is, "it's only a foot." Not sure what the bad reviews are about. I have been going to Doc Steinberg for 15 years. I had a diagnosis called a Morton's Neuroma. I went to the doc since he was on my plan and wanted to do a technique of shooting the nerve with alcohol. I thought it was a bit primitive so I consulted a friend who had a another podiatrist. I told him what was up and he said who was the doctor? I told him Steinberg. He said "Stuart Steinberg? Whatever he says trust him, he one of the best in the business. I went back and started the treatments. It felt like a brick was put in my foot for 8 weeks, once a week. The treatment doesn't cure the Neuroma but sort of makes the bdy think its gon by killing the receptors that send pain to the brain. After 2 months it ws gone and has been gone for q5 years. I also went back fro various things over the years, ingrown nails, Orthodics(which I highly recommend to anyone) and for looksys. He is a great doctor and I trust him with all I have...and my feet are EXTREMELY important to me like everyone else! read more

I went to Dr. Steinberg. He is a very nice gentle man. I had a bump right below the ball of my foot. He put a needle in to deaden the area, then he took a needle to try to bust the bump, but it wasn't liquid. He then proceeded on to tell me he didn't know what it was, and gave me a cortizone shot, said I would have to get these all the time because it's dangerour to have your foot operated on. That relieved the pain and now its back. The shot hurt so bad, I'm scared to go, yet I can hardly walk on the foot, and the doctor doesn't know what it is. Anyone have any suggestions for another podiatrist, not that the shots would hurt less, i just want to know what it is. read more

Dr. Steinberg is GREAT! I came to him in a lot of pain caused by an inflamed ligament and due to his diligent care and treatment over the past month, I feel like myself again! I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Steinberg for over 20 years. In fact he is the only Podiatrist I will see. I moved to Colorado in 2004, but when I come to Burbank to see family I try to schedule an appointment with Dr, Steinberg. He has treated me for many sprained ankles, heel pain, and my super flat feet. I only trust him with my feet & ankles. He has never steered me wrong. In fact, I recently sprained my ankle, and called his office for a consultation to make sure the doctors here were going to do the right thing. I even considered traveling to Burbank for treatment. I have referred him many times to family & friends and all have been treated extremely well. He performed bunion surgery on my sister, on both feet, with no complications, he treats my Mom for nerve pain, & my husband for a toe problem.
