Dr. Park is a really nice doctor with a wonderful bedside manner, but you cannot get an appointment for at least a month out. So if you're having issues, it will fester and if you have any scheduling conflicts, you now have to wait 2 months and so on. His front office staff could really use a class on courtesy and kindness. I called for a consultation for my ruptured Posterior Tibial Tendon which I was told most likely will require surgery and I'm looking for the best surgeon for this procedure. I got a referral to Dr. Park from a colleague. I called their office: 1st question: is this injury work related? I said "No it's not a workers comp related injury". I explained that I wanted to consult with Dr. Park regarding a "severed Posterior Tibial Tendon" I was told: "The first possible appointment time For new patients would be mid-July (I was calling in mid-April) so the "office policy" is to schedule new patients 3 months later? I wonder if my injury was work related would that have made a difference! What about a fracture? You have to wait 3 months for an appointment? What kind of policy is this? Really strange! read more

Dr Park has a kind bedside manner but his method of scanning feet to make custom orthotics is a failure. His "fixes" for the expensive orthotics made them worse- the arch was in the wrong spot and made my joint problems worse. Until he returns to plaster casting, avoid him for orthotics. read more

Review for scheduling, not the Dr. himself. I saw Dr. Park years ago, apparently before he became so popular that he has a two-month+ wait for an existing patient. I had surgery with him, and he has an excellent bedside manner. I hurt my foot about two months ago, hobbled around for a week, and then decided, okay, it's time to go in. They weren't able to schedule me until the end of May. I booked and waited. There's no cancellation list anymore; you have to call each day if you're looking for an appointment sooner in hopes of a cancellation. The receptionist, when I called, the moment I asked about a cancellation, she jumped and said "There's none". No asking for my name or the reason for the appointment; it's just that no one has canceled. I couldn't take the pain anymore and found another foot doctor in Burbank who got me in the same week. Turned out I'd been walking on a stress fracture. I'm now healed, but still disappointed in the lack of attentiveness to patients and their needs, or maybe they're overbooking, and that's the problem? My son even attempted to get an appointment 3 weeks ago for an ingrown toenail that he's had fixed there within the last year, yet nothing until the end of July. An ingrown toenail cannot wait months to be treated; this can lead to a deadly infection and loss of the toe. I told my son about the other foot Dr. I went to, and he's scheduled now for early next week. Much faster than the 2 month + wait again for the office. read more

Front office is argumentative and requires several calls to get any type of response. Made several incorrect orthodontic molds. Will only want to resort to temporary pain relief. I highly recommend Dr. Park for any issues or challenges with ones feet. Extremely professional and knowledgeable, friendly staff, and my appointments are always on time and quick, yet he always takes his time and makes sure all my questions are answered. Went to see him for my dislocated toe (which we discovered included torn ligaments) and bunions after a recommendation from a relative. Best decision ever. Dr Park set me up with orthotic shoe inserts which helped a lot with the pain. He doesn't go straight to surgery and helps weigh the pros and cons to ensure I can make an informed decision. Went to see him for bone to bone pain in both my ankles. Instead of recommending ankle fusion surgery like another doctor I went to, Dr. Park recommended taking things slow, and trying cortisone shots to see if that alleviated the pain. And it worked. I called in for an appointment. They were only able to give me 11am Wednesday. When I came in (exactly at 11) there were 20 people crammed up in the tiny waiting room. Another lady had been there waiting since 10:30. She asked how much longer she had to wait, they told her there's one more patient ahead of her. So then I had to ask how many patients were ahead of me. They told me 6! And they said sorry that it's a pretty packed schedule today. Why schedule me for an 11am appointment if you know that I can't be seen at least until 1:00 or 1:30?? On top of that they were all getting ready to take a lunch break. I came to Dr Park with chronic ankle pain. After several tests, xrays, and scans, we discovered a bone bridge in both feet! Long story short I took his advice and had surgery. It's hard to decide where to start when describing my experience with Dr. Park. He's been generous, caring, patient, attentive, and kind. He is highly knowledgeable and a top notch professional. I came to Dr. Park for a second opinion after my torn ankle ligament was initially misdiagnosed as a sprain by another podiatrist who I had seen multiple times. It took Dr. Park a matter of seconds to know it was a tear. While he knew I most likely needed surgery, he was not in a rush and wanted to give my ankle the chance to see if it can recover on its own, with a targeted daily routine. The regimen led to major improvement, but it was still clear surgery was required. The surgery went smoothly and turned out great. He used the most advanced tools and techniques, which have a much higher success rate than the old way of doing things, which many doctors still use. I've been recovering each day at a great pace with Dr. Park's guidance and getting closer to being back to 100%. I'm so grateful that I found Dr. Park and gave him a chance. Last year I was preparing to run a marathon when the dreaded ingrown nail came after me. I was refered to Dr. Park and boy was I lucky. From the moment I walked through the door the experience was great. Everyone was polite, welcoming and ready to answer any questions that might arise. Once I met doctor Park I knew I was in good, knowledgeable and capable hands. He took all the necessary time to explain what could be done about my nail and all the different steps we could take. After giving me the necessary time to process the information and make a decision we went for a conservative approach at first which helped for a while but unfortunately didn't get rid of the problem. On my second visit he then went for the next slightly more aggressive step and it was because of this that I was able to run the marathon and complete it with no pain on my toes. Unfortunately, after a few months the problem arose once again but I knew exactly where to go. Dr. Park once again took the time to go through what the next step should be. My ingrown toenail has never been an everyday problem, it only hurts after I run for 6+ miles so the conservative approach that would get me back to running as soon as possible was always the best approach for my case. Everytime I've been to the office it has taken about 5 minutes between checking in and talking to Dr. Park. Hopefully this is the last time I have to deal with this problem but if I need to trust my feet to anyone in the future it will certainly be Dr. Park. read more

Dr. Park's attitude is detached and aloof. Just one more patient on his list. He sold me orthotics, but three times refused to confirm that they'd help me. I asked him three times point blank, his responses were "well, with stretching and icing ", which avoided a real answer. When I went back to say nothing was helping, he, horrifyingly, lied. Sat there, unable to look at me, knowing I was recording him for notes, and denied refusing to answer. I came for help with pain, and instead got combative tone, and lies. The only compassionate person there is the receptionist. This is not a Doctor that helps people- just sells them. Really disgusted a doctor would lie. read more

It was my first time going to a podiatrist and a friend of mine told me great things, so I Yelped Dr. Park and others to do my own research, too. I'm really glad that I went to him. I was able to make an appointment right away. The staff there are very kind and the facility is extremely clean. Dr. Joseph Park is friendly, gentle, and has a good sense of humor. He had a way about himself that made me feel comfortable and put me at ease about the anxiety built up about my foot/ankle. He was clear about my chronic ankle issues and knowledgeable about next step in treatment. Grossly incompetent is about the nicest thing I can say about his staff. I get a referral then call on Wednesday or an appointment. The woman tells me there is an opening on Friday at 3. I show up on Friday at 3 and am told my appointment is the FOLLOWING Friday. A week later, I'm back again and they tell me they can't find me in their system,l so I will be a "new patient" and he doesn't have time to see a new patient today so they can schedule me for the following Wednesday. So WHO THE F' SLICED OPEN MY ANKLE FIVE YEARS AGO THEN???!!! In short, good Doctor + lousy staff = a crappy practice. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I was very nervous going in, b/c I didn't want to go through the same thing--this was a second chance at having normal looking toes. ****moving my review directly to Dr. Park******** I was recommended to Dr. Steinberg's office by orthopedist at Stetson Powell for a new pair of orthotics. Let me preface this by saying that I'm not the run of the mill podiatry patient. I have put in a major amount of trail miles annually and I estimate that my 5 year old pair has seen upwards of 5000 miles thanks to my former fixation with ultrarunning. It was convenient in that his associate Dr. Park saw me on short notice; however, that's where the convenience ended. I specifically asked for something similar to my old semi-rigid, high volume orthotics, which I brought in as an example. I emphasized that I did not want to replace my hiking boots, running shoes, and ski boots and the old pair had served me well. When I returned in 2 weeks I received a thin pair of flimsy looking rigid orthotics that looked like they might hold up for six months if I was lucky. I mentioned my concerns to Dr. Park, who recommended that I try them out first. During my trial run I realized that the slippery covering and design were not going to work. They were too thin and the heel cup was causing hot spots. Dr. Park's office required that I make an appointment to discuss the problems with my orthotics. My previous podiatrist, Dave Hannaford, (unfortunately in the SF Bay Area) would send my orthotics out for adjustment without an appointment. I realized that this whole thing seemed like an insurance scam, not to mention a waste of my time. My previous pair took 4 adjustments to avoid arch blisters and there was no way I was going to make an appointment each time (@ $25 in copay every time) I needed an adjustment. After $400 out of pocket I decided to cut my losses and make an appointment with Dr. Hannaford. read more

I blew my achilles tendon doing freerunning in march, and Dr. Park did an Achilles tendon repair in early April. 5 months later, I'm pretty much good to go back to doing freerunning. I'm walking good, running pretty good, and have no pain and great flexibility. Dr. Park did an awesome job fixing me. Got some custom orthotic soles for my shoes (thin ones that the above review was griping about). They feel great to me and are pretty damn durable. Our puppy ripped it out of my shoe and chewed on it for 20 minutes and its still pretty solid. One thing I really gotta mention about Dr. Park, beyond being a good docter, he's actually an authentically nice guy and fills you with confidence that things are probably gonna be just fine. And that goes for all of his staff too. I usually dread going to the doctor, but Dr. Park and his staff really do a great job of making you feel at ease. read more

Perhaps the best doctor I've ever had. Everything about his office is great. Staff is helpful, friendly, attentive. I've never had to wait long in the waiting room or patient rooms. They have a lot of equipment available right there at the office, including X-ray machines and splints, so you don't have to make a separate appointment elsewhere, or wait long (if at all) for orthotics / splints. Professional, effective, welcoming. Dr. Park himself is a great guy, always very personable and helpful. I went there for running-related pain in my right foot (plantar issues), and he was able to identify and cure me of the pain super effectively. I continued to see him due to issues in my left leg, and he was once again able to target the issue and relieve most of the pain (I continue to do stretches based on his advice for the remainder of the pain). Dr. Park is simply the best. From the very first time I went in to get my customized insoles to accommodate my severe overpronating feet a few years ago, Dr. Park's professionalism combined with a sincere, caring heart have been second to none. Pleasantly humble and down-to-earth, he and his staff were very personal and made me feel welcomed from day one. Since I've always had an ankle issue since my teens (I'm 40 years old), the fact that he knew much about sports and injuries that come with sports was definitely a plus, because my ankle issue was due to many years of playing basketball, football, and volleyball. Also, I really loved the fact that he never pushed surgery on me until I felt that it was necessary. Having done a shoulder surgery elsewhere almost a decade ago, I sometimes wonder if I should have gotten a second opinion before the shoulder surgery. But Dr. Park, after giving me the most accurate diagnosis, never pushed me to have the procedure. He left it up to me. And when I finally felt that it was time, he was ready. And boy, did he ever take care of me. Never once did I have an issue with my insurance company because his staff worked diligently to provide me the best overall care. It's one thing to have a successful surgery but how great it is to have a great office staff that takes care of you administratively as well. Leading up to the surgery, he explained everything to me very clearly, and repeatedly as well (since I'm a bit OCD). My surgery was not small-in-scale: I had torn ligaments that needed to be reinforced, and my heel had to be reconstructed because my foot had been permanently pointing outwards since I had rolled my ankle repeatedly while playing sports since high school, which meant my newly reconstructed, properly aligned foot had to be held in place with two titanium screws until my foot properly healed. The whole surgery took three hours, but it went flawlessly. Then came the best post-op care: When I was done with surgery, I had an ice machine, and a set of state-of-the-art crutches (you have to see them) ready for me by my bedside when I woke up. The staff worked with my insurance company prior to the surgery so that everything was ready for me. Even more, he called me three straight days to see if I was okay after surgery! Who does that?! After more than twenty years of ankle pain, I am now pain free, thanks to Dr. Park. Surgery was past July (July 31st, 2015), and I am now back on the treadmills and hiking mountains. Healing does take time after the surgery, but hey, Dr. Park isn't Jesus :) I continue to see Dr. Park for my customized insoles (since I can get a new pair every year through my insurance). I tell him that I wish he was my doctor for everything, because he's that great. (And we can talk about college football every year.) If you're looking for a great podiatrist, look no further.
