Here are just some of the things I experienced: - --Bizarre interactions with the office staff - particularly the office manager (and one other). ZERO sense of accountability or humility when they are completely wrong and have no idea about your insurance (year after year), your estimates, your appointments, etc. They make things up as they go about their office "policies", including telling you that "all patients pay 100% up front for major procedures". What?? They always charged for each individual service as I went along, and I paid in full at the desk before leaving each time. Sounds normal, right? But then the manager starts calling that a "payment plan" and saying that "all the other staff were wrong" by charging at each visit for each service. Huh? That is paying for a service 100% - immediately after getting it. That is not a payment plan. Other dental offices have confirmed the absurdity of this. The manager has no idea what she is doing, whether it's regarding your insurance, your estimates, their "policies", or screwing up your appointment and then saying she didn't. --- Very bad experiences with a few (of the many) hygienists I saw there. One of them loved to sing loudly in your ear while she "cleaned" your teeth, and that only took about 7-8 minutes, pecking around on a few teeth, then floss and polish, and "ok! all done". One reviewer referred to them as the "Jiffy Lube" of dental offices. I agree. Move them in and get them out. --- Another hygienist was not-so-hygienic. I was very close to getting up out of the chair and leaving due to her strong...odor. I won't say more about that. Her very awkward behavior and comments were another thing I won't go into. And she too spent literally less than 8 minutes "cleaning" and continuously jabbing my gums with the suction. It seriously seemed like a bad prank. --- One reviewer noted that this is a "girl's club". VERY accurate for sure. And the staff turnover is something soo many people have mentioned - even out in the community. New people every time. And the few good ones are gone. Like no other business I've ever seen. The office manager will tell you that it's all "maternity leave". It is not. ---Another reviewer noted the very blatant political views proudly displayed at the front desk. I never saw that, but I can totally believe it. Another example of the lack of professionalism here. ---The atmosphere and human interaction is very cold and very impersonal. There's a sense of fear in the air. This is not at all your welcoming family dental practice where you develop a friendly human relationship with the staff/dentist/hygienist. I'm going to a new office now, and the difference is absolutely night and day. The people there are highly-professional, friendly and very personable. It's a breath of fresh air. ---And finally, the owners of Cataloochee Dental (2 dentists at another branch) have refused to respond after writing them a multi-page, well-thought-out and detailed letter about it all and asking them very nicely for a reply. I suppose reputation and regard for a patient's experiences don't matter? If enough people speak up, perhaps it will at some point.

She had the space set up in a cozy manner with lamps and gentle music playing. Throughout each step she was communicative, careful, and attentive. I requested no numbing for a tooth being pulled - he pulled the majority of the tooth (the remainder of which later was flicked out by another dentist who didn't think I needed numbing at all), and proceeded to be emotionally/verbally abusive trying to force me into an injection. I will never return to this office, and I certainly would never dream of bringing my children here. If you're looking for a kind and decent dentist, steer clear of this office.

If and when I have to schedule a procedure done besides my regular cleaning the front office informs me of the cost so there are no surprises afterwards. Many years ago, I broke my front tooth off in an accident on a Friday. My regular dentist at that time would not see me until the nest week, I called Dr. Miller. He worked me in at 12 noon that day. She told me that we would try the sensor, which they only had one size of because the x-rays were better but could switch methods if necessary. I explained that this was no fear of the dentist or basic discomfort and that I could do the other x-rays with the standard method, just not the very far back of my mouth. I am leaving this review about Asheville Dental located at 10C Yorkshire St. 28803. Never in my life have I been cheated, tricked, lied to and abused like this from any professional or business. I am 74yr old senior citizen and was taken advantage of by the dentist Grant Dasher and Asheville Dental. I admit my wits aren't as alert as they once were but these people should be ashamed and their office investigated by the Health Dept. I received a certified letter telling me the work was completed and I was dismissed from Asheville Dental and should find another dentist for all future treatments. This is because they convinced me to pay the total amount even before the work was 25% (twenty-five percent) completed. I was lied to when I asked if he could give me straight white teeth and he said yes. A 3rd year dental student could do this but i received mostly straight and mostly white teeth and also how long this treatment would take. Dasher told me it will take approximately 12 to 14 weeks. It took 31 (thirty-one) weeks. Imagine being unable to eat without pain for 31 weeks. So unnecessary! Dasher told me he would refund the cost of 2 (two) crowns because he saw two of my teeth would not support crowns. I was reimbursed for 1 (one) crown and cheated out of the second. He tried to convince me he had given me $4000.00 (four-thousand dollars) worth of service for free. NONSENSE/RIDICULOUS! He never mentioned this until I requested my refund for the second crown. They refused to return my money. Another cheat and another lie! There is more I could say but my point has been made to let the public know to stay away from Asheville Dental. They are the most dishonest and untrustworthy office I have ever been in. One may ask why I stayed at Asheville Dental after being treated with such obvious disrespect and put through so much unnecessary pain and discomfort? As i mentioned before they had my money, paid in full. Sometime along week 22 (twenty-two) Dasher offered me a refund when I told him I had lost all trust and confidence in him and his work. His refund was a few pennies on the dollar. I told Grant Dasher to his face while looking into his eyes that he had "No Honor" he also has No Morals or Principles. In my opinion the biggest cheater and liar I've ever known. This explains why I had noticed there never seemed to be any patients in their lobby. Many visits I was the only person when I arrived and no one there when I left. As I was leaving their office for the last time I heard them laughing. Dasher and his small staff are a disgrace to the dental profession. I have no proof other than visual (what I observed) that on occasion he used instruments that were not sanitized. The bags that are used to sanitize were opened and wrinkly on other occasions there were no bags and wore no gloves at all. This could be "Very Dangerous." I get no satisfaction in leaving such a negative yet 100% truthful review. In my opinion they are not honest people and the public needs to know! The public should know and be made aware! Stay away ...
