After professional cleanup, the headache of dealing with an insurance adjuster, and the due diligence of meeting with multiple contractors to get bids on putting the basement back together, we went with Rentz Remodeling and Contracting. And wow. The difference between someone like Matt Rentz and other contractors we've dealt with has been night and day. A selfish part of me wants to keep this knowledge to myself, in case we need him again, but he's too good NOT to share. First of all, his bid was extremely fair. Since we were dealing with repairs and not an elective home remodel, we didn't have a ton of money set aside. Just what was left of insurance after a not-great cleanup crew charged us through the nose. Matt detailed out everything he would do to fix the basement, with line items for both labor and cost of materials. There was no guessing or having to ask for more detail; he came prepared with paperwork and was always extremely open about what everything cost. Secondly, he and his crew were incredibly polite and professional. In a pandemic, having new people in your house is always a little anxiety-provoking. The first thing they did when they arrived is put up a plastic zip door between the basement stairs and the rest of the house. And they never came through it into the main house. We worked out a system where he would text if he needed to ask any questions, which meant I could go anywhere in the house without worrying that I couldn't hear them if they needed anything. But for the most part, they came and went according to the needs of the work, and I didn't have to do much of anything at all. Thirdly, Matt and his crew are not just great contractors, but good guys. We had a problem with the hose discharge line for our sump pump freezing over during a cold snap, so my husband had temporarily removed it. Matt noticed and pointed out that he'd seen excess water leak through basement walls before, and texted with me about potential solutions we could try ourselves to keep it functional through the winter. Not an upsell--but just because he had knowledge he thought we could use. I'd recommend Rentz Remodeling and Contracting to anyone. (I've already given his name to a few friends.) And the next time we need anything done around the house, these guys are at the top of my list. A++, 10/10.

I strive to get at…read moreleast 3 estimates, if not 5, for every home improvement, and I got 4 for my gutters and siding. Barry was by far the most professional, prompt, and friendly of them all. I won't drop the others of whom I dealt with, but some of them didn't call me back for days, others weeks. Not Barry, he always responded to my call or texts within 24 hrs. He also was the most reasonably priced, and he wasn't condescending when talking to me about my home improvement. Being a women, men often feel they need to 'man'splain things to me so I 'understand' what is going to be done. God, how I hate that. Barry was very professional, and only explained further, when I asked. I really appreciate that in a contractor. His team finished my house in a day, gutters, gutter guards, fixed vinyl corners on my garage, replaced the facing on the front of my house (since the last jack hole didn't remove the shutters, and just cut around them), and changed the front vinyl section to a more decorative shaker shingle. Overall, I loved how the work came out. My house now has a softer look, for a great price, and all in 1 day. I give a hearty 2 thumbs up, a twirl, and high kick for ABG North and Barry.

As mentioned above, my mom doesn't know English well, but she still had an easy, hassle-free experience with ABG to get new siding, window trim, and shutters added to our 35 year old house. Even at the very beginning, they were flexible and worked with my mom. They didn't force her replace the gutters and railings like the other companies. She was incredibly pleased with the end results. I've uploaded pictures. They started on the house on August 11th and finished on August 13th. They basically worked from 7:30am-4:30pm. There were 2 people for the first 2 days, and 3 people on the last day to finish everything up. My mom repeatedly says that the the craftsmanship is excellent. When they worked on the window trim they recaulked the windows to make sure everything was sealed properly. All the siding parts lined up perfectly and the corners were perpendicular and aligned. And at the end of each day they were really good about cleaning up after themselves and making sure there were no metal parts that was in the driveway. All in all, if you want high quality work on your house, don't look anywhere else. Go with ABG North Construction. As they say, Mom knows best.

I contacted Bryan about the issues and set up more than 3 different appoints and no call no show every time and then he just flat out refused to return to repair his work. I would not recommend IWT for the simple fact that you can not rely on his word he has zero integrity.
